I liked this play because not only was it great music but I learned a lot from the story, too. There were great singers and costumes and I loved it all! :)
About my Birthday, where my wife and I were entertained watching #motown stage play the musical. So, when I tell you they were in character, please believe me. In character as Diana Ross, she asked for crowd participation tip help sing a song. wouldn't you know it, my wife was chosen. when my wife started singing, the Diana Ross actress was taken back that Mrs. Adger has a song bird voice. and tho add to my pleasure, she foot the cat tip daddy Happy Birthday Jeffrey! yeah she did that!
The show was very good and entertaining! It was worth seeing!
The overall show presented a walk back in time for me. There were times when I fought back tears of remembrance where I was at certain times in my life. It was indeed a magical experience. Although I thoroughly enjoyed myself, the show was abruptly stopped my an emergency evacuation notice. Thereby missing the ending of the performance. I drove nearly forty miles to attend this performance only to result in missing the ending. It was very disappointing not knowing or acknowledging the stellar performances of the ensemble.
The cast and musicians were great, and the voices so closely matched the original artists, we were brought bak in time. Fun, interesting and three days later, we are still singing Motown songs.
Emergency alarms went off with about 10 - 15 minutes left in the show. Building was evacuated. Stayed outside for awhile, but never heard what happened, so we went home. Missed the climax of the show, final musical numbers, etc. And, never did find out if Barry made the show! This accounts for our 3 star rating, otherwise 5 stars. Since Ticketmaster has our email address, maybe they could fill in the blanks, and maybe the venue could give us a partial credit towards a future event?
Enjoyed the performances, excellent music and the Berry Gordy Story. We saw the Thursday night performance that resulted in an evacuation from the theater at the last 15 mins. of the performance. Fire Dept. responded and about 1/2 hour later we were back in our seats and some people in better seats(as many theater goers departed early), to see the end of the play. Kudos to the professionals that didn't miss a beat, picked right up and finished for our enjoyment.
The story is tremendous. I grew up with Motown and never knew the back story. The talented actors expressed the Motown story in a masterpiece of talent. The talent was phenomenal.
My cousins, daughter and I attended the Motown Musical on Sat, Nov 11. It was amazing and I recommend it highly. The venue was fantastic. The music was phenomenal. All of the actors were superb. It was extremely well-done. It brought so many memories of the great work Barry Gordy and Smoky Robinson did in the 1960's. The hard work they did during the Civil Rights Movement needs to be remembered. Thank you for bringing this show to El Paso. Just AWESOME!

A little light on the story line. There is so much more to tell but with such awesome music how can you go wrong? The actors were all awesome!!!
this show is one of the best. the music, the singing and dancing was spot on. I thought we were actually sitting in a concert with the real Temptations, Smokey and the boys, Diana Ross, Supremes, and all the rest. Their voices , acting, and dancing was fabulous
