Just the organization and service in sun bowl was too bad
Highly anticipated concert - touted as the last stop of their World Tour. Excited crowd, great theatrics and an overall fun event. Downside: El Paso Sun Bowl is NOT equipped for that size of a crowd. Parking was a disaster. Their concession areas were too small. There was gridlock for everything…. Their security was solid though and crowd management seemed effective by the event staff.
The concert itself was amazing however I was not impressed with the venue. The lines for everything were ridiculous. From getting in, getting drinks or food and the bathrooms. It was all mad chaos.
The sound of the 1st 2 shows were great. The one I was really looking forward to, MOTLEY CRUE, was terrible. Worst experience ever by them
The concert it's self was really good. Still, we missed the fisrt act and 2 songs from the second. But we all ( people on the floor ) had a really bad experience. Starting with the entrance, the kids with the metal detectors took over a minute, some times, to let the people through. We were thousands, imagine that! and after that, when reaching the floor, we were asked to get the bracelet, when we reach the spot, there were 2 girls, one cutting the bracelets and one putting them on to the persons in line to get it. There were hundreds in line, it was ridiculous. There were so many persons so frustrated with this. Among us. Any way, if there is ever another concert in this venue, a much needed improvement is requiered for the organization.
I really came to see Def Leppard and Alice Cooper but Motley Crew didn't disappoint. By the time they came out the sun was down and the field was tolerable.
All the bands put on a GREAT show and my wife & friends had a great time as well. Parking for the event and any events will always be an issue
Alice Cooper, Def Leppard and Motley Crue were great. The venue was very disorganized and did not make it easy to know where you needed to go. We had floor seats and dint know we needed to stand in line for a bracelet to get on the floor. It would be nice that there is better direction when you come into the venue.
Concert was awesome, but UTEP’s services was really bad. Poor traffic planning and took for ever to get in. Once in you could not move around to get to your seats. Unorganized vendors everywhere and people couldn’t walk through. Once at the floor, I was told that I needed a bracelet and to go back up where I had come from. Then there was a long unorganized line to get the bracelet. This is not how you run a concert. So don’t ever attend a UTEP event.
All of the concert was amazing except for the organization it was really bad..I lasted more than half an hour in the line just to get some water 🙄 Seats on the floor did not have numbers
When I got to the venue it took me more than 20 minutes to get the tickets to show up on my phone. There were several people like me, desperately looking for a signal and people were pissed. Never Again!!!!!!!
Alice Cooper, Def Leppard and Motley Crue all put on great shows!
I love the event. Great music, great bands. I think it was an opportunity to hear live what only saw on apps or streaming, maybe memories from our love ones. Thank you for bringing to El Paso.
The music was awesome but Vince Neil mumbled alot of lyrics. It was as though he couldn't keep up with the fast paced music. His lips couldn't pronounce the words. he did it in San Antonio last year, I was hoping that he had an "off night", but no, it's just him.
The bands were great, but the staffing at UTEP was subpar at best. It took well over an hour to park, they made the opening act start and hundreds of people were outside still waiting to get in. It then took 45 min to get a water, there was zero direction in where to go. I had floor seats and nobody was directing anyone where to go. Once the show began, the bands were great but UTEP needs to do better
Concert great. Facility terrible. Not prepared for big crowds. Over an hour to get in, over an hour to buy a beer. Exiting the event was scary.
The bands were great. The most disorganized concert I’ve ever been to. Long lines to get in. Long lines for concessions. Bathrooms were dirty. Paid for good seats only to find that the view to the stage was obstructed by a poorly placed porta-potty. Terrible experience
We thought the concert was good, with Alice Cooper and Def Leppard being the best! Motley Crue: bass was too loud to hear the lead singers voice. Tommy Lee-could have done without his asking women to bare their boobs (his words were degrading to women). Barely missed getting hit by a stage diver that kept getting up and jumping into the crowd. No one stopped him for a while. Water should have been available for sale OUTSIDE the gates before the concert started, along with a First Aid tent. Waited 90 minutes to get in the gate and I know I wasn't the only one that got heat exhaustion due to the 102° temperature. I almost passed out due to the heat. 😠 The crew at the "Information, Water, VIP Check-In"tent were not any help either. Asked them if I could get some water and they said they didn't have any. (Their sign was INSIDE their tent.) Seems as though the event staff was unorganized. We had floor seats and were told an hour after we were in line that we had to go to the VIP tent to get wristbands to be allowed to sit on the floor. Once we got into the stadium, I did find a first aid person who was able to get us some water. I didn't see a first aid tent. I needed to lay down since I still felt like I was going to pass out. When we got down to the floor seats, the heat felt even worse, like the song "Might As Well Be Walking On the Sun"by Smash Mouth. We drank 3 glasses of lemonade and that helped a little. Got a little bit of relief when the sun went down. I know that the touring guitar player Alice Cooper's band had to kneel down several times backstage due to heat stroke/exhaustion. (See article on the internet from KFOX TV from August 19, 2023). Maybe UTEP can have portable misters close by (if it's not an insurance or liability problem). And, a first aid tent.
The show was unbelievable good, great artist combo, the organization for this event was really bad, it took 45 min to enter the stadium, super long and slow lines for everything, 1 hour to buy something to drink or eat, totally unacceptable.
Bad experience with the entrance, disorganized, without controls that make you feel safe, do you buy a beer or some nachos? Impossible! long and slow lines, buy merchandise? prrrrf missed the show to buy them, poor rating for UTEP and its organizers, the show was respectable, but lower quality compared to other cities, it was a show to comply and not cancel it, they lowered ticket prices to a fraction of the original price since they were not sold
