About

Motionless in White are a gothic and horror-themed metalcore band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. After forming in 2005, the group began to break out with the release of their third album, Reincarnate (2014), which charted in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and featured artists such as Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth and Tim Skold of Marilyn Manson and KMFDM. Lead vocalist Chris Motionless has noted drawing inspiration from bands like Slipknot, Cradle of Filth and AFI, who helped inspire the sonic soundscape of albums like Graveyard Shift (2017) and Disguise (2019), the latter of which produced the band’s first single to go gold, “Another Life.” Motionless in White have released two EPs and six studio albums, including 2022’s critically acclaimed Scoring the End of the World — embarking on sold-out tours with everyone from Korn to Slipknot.

MIW has been keeping me steady over the last few months. Going through mental & emotional growth spurts really suck. But seeing them live cemented all of the progress I’ve made. Usually at shows, I stand stock still and just listen. This time, I moved. I jumped. I sang. I screamed. Honestly, I choked up and almost cried. Motionless got me to step out of my shell in a way that no band ever has before. (Your wish from 2010 was granted, Chris. You reached me. You said so many words that changed my life, forever. Because of you, I know that I’m not alone.) Even if you don’t really like this band, you can’t deny their energy. 10/10, will see again.

  • Amazing Concert - Great Venue!

by gillweb on 9/12/22The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

I can't say too little about this Trinity of Terror Tour with these 3 bands! I went to Part 1, this one in Scanton was Part 2 and I have tickets for Part 3 in November! The music, sound and stage presence for all the bands was amazing! The venue itself (2nd time there) is awesome. Nice outside venue in the mountains and I believe that helps with the stage sound. Very clean and never had any experience with bad or nasty attitude employees. Only 2 things I would say need to worked on would be: #1 the parking.. very big lots and you can have to walk up to a half mile to the venue itself. This can be somewhat standard at some other venues but the problem here is it's in the Pocono Mountains and there is a ton of hills to go up and down! #2 the 'merch stand'.. This was the biggest problem at both of the shows I've been to here. They have 1 (yes i said ONE) merchandising tent for ALL the bands there at that time. We waited in line at this merch tent for over 1 hour to get 2 t-shirts! Missed the #2 band on the lineup in it's entirety! We were not the only ones complaining about it, I promise. We spoke with many people in line with us and they could not believe the wait AND that it's THE ONLY PLACE TO PURCHASE the merchandise. Pavilion at Montage Mountain, if you actually read these, you have an amazing venue but I believe you could do a better job with the merchandise for your concerts. There MANY food/beverage stands with no one going to them while you had over hour waits for the only merch stand. Separate ones for each ban located in different parts of the venue maybe? Figure this one out because it's the only negative for a truly great venue!

  • Front row for the first time, but hate venue parking!

by INK fanatic on 9/12/22The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

This was probably the best show I have ever seen. The four bands that played, We Came As Romans, Black Viel Brides, Ice Nine Kills and Motionless in White, brought an energy to the stage that I've never seen before. It was a special show because MIW was finally coming home to play, but the orher bands were amazing too, and I have seen INK twice before. Aside from how great the show was, the venue needs to come up with a way to leave parking much faster. If you were someone who showed up early, and were parked towards the top of the mountain, hopefully you were not planning on leaving anytime soon. The concert was over at 11:30, and it took almost 15 minutes to walk to my car. Unfortunately, we could not move from our parking spot until 12:54 because the flow of traffic exiting the bottom of the mountain first. Otherwise, the show was great, and made me forget my dislike of outdoor venues.

The energy was just fantastic. All of the bands were great, and to see Motionless in White in their home town, performing for the first time on the main stage was just insane! Probably the best show I've been to in my life.

  • Amazing show!!

by H. R. on 9/12/22The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was absolutely amazing! We had no issues from start to finish; parking was fast and easy, gate admission was pretty quick, and we found our seats fast. We Came As Romans rocked even though we didn't really know any of their songs; Black Veil Brides were amazing, Ice Nine Kills puts on one HELL of a stage show, and Motionless In White absolutely floored us!! My 14 year old son and I were honored to be part of their first show at Montage! ♥️

I love seeing these guys in concert. I was a little upset about not being able to get the tour shirt for the part of the tour. It would have been great to have the green to go with the red. Also, is there going to be tour shirts available for the 3rd part?
