About

Motionless in White are a gothic and horror-themed metalcore band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. After forming in 2005, the group began to break out with the release of their third album, Reincarnate (2014), which charted in the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 and featured artists such as Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth and Tim Skold of Marilyn Manson and KMFDM. Lead vocalist Chris Motionless has noted drawing inspiration from bands like Slipknot, Cradle of Filth and AFI, who helped inspire the sonic soundscape of albums like Graveyard Shift (2017) and Disguise (2019), the latter of which produced the band’s first single to go gold, “Another Life.” Motionless in White have released two EPs and six studio albums, including 2022’s critically acclaimed Scoring the End of the World — embarking on sold-out tours with everyone from Korn to Slipknot.

  • Bands Galore!

by R!ck on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 4 out of 5

Seeing 8 bands in one day was quite the experience. Seemed like there was a lot of stoppages during MIW's set, but to be honest, I would have paused it as well. The only thing I would change is having more exits on the mountain so traffic wouldn't be so bad or if there was an accident blocking the way, it wouldn't stall everyone else.

motionless has my whole heart forever, they literally never disappoint and I’m so happy for them getting so big now and being able to play their home town :’)

by Natasha on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I’ve ever been to! I really hope they bring another fest like this to Scranton again next year!

  • Incredible Experience

by AprilM on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

The festival was amazing! Everyone brought so much energy to the stage! Loved every performance and band especially parkway Drive and Motionless in White. Incredible show! Would definitely go to another one!

  • Fun concert, but….

by Joe S. on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 3 out of 5

It was a really fun concert, had a lot of fun, loved the bands, and the venue itself, being tucked in the middle of the mountains and whatnot, was beautiful, but the concessions were pretty bad. First off, there was not enough concessions for the people attending the event. Like if i have to stand 45 minutes and completely miss a set from a band, there’s an issue. Everything was overpriced, especially those “Shaker Cocktails” that were being sold, i bought one, worst drink ive ever had. Hopefully it was just the bartender messing it up or something, but I wasn’t going to test that theory, wasnt trying to spend another $22 on one of those drinks. Other than those 2 big issues, traffic was really smooth flowing and i was in and out in no time. Staff was very nice and accommodating, security was good, overall, 1 out of 5 stars for concessions, but 5 stars for everything else! Would definitely go again, but they gotta get more concession stands and hire some more qualified people for the drinks.

  • Incredible

by Stacie on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

Motionless always puts on a fantastic show and this one was certainly no different. Seeing them in their hometown and feeling their pride and love for it all was truly indescribable. I cannot say enough great things about the entire band, but the highlight for me was Chris’s vocals in City Lights! Haunting and angelic only start to explain the experience. It gave me chills 🖤

  • Good performances bad production

by Poop on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 2 out of 5

From the grassy section it seemed like they intentionally made the opening bands quieter than later ones. The outdoor speakers were never on at any point during the show.

  • Incredible!

by Steph on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was amazing! I did arrive late to only see Motionless in White and boy did they NOT disappoint. Have been wanting to see them play live since I was a teenager, my metal heart is so fulfilled and full 🥰🥰

  • It was the first time I listen to them, see them live

by Laureano on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

Great musicians, and a great show. Sound and avenue was amazing. A little chilly that night though. Great time with my son.

  • A Masterpiece

by Claudia on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

Ive listened to Motionless in White for going on 10 years now and have seen them twice in person. They put on an amazing show, interact with fans, and are some of the most humble people around. Coming from someone who doesn’t live too far away from Scranton it’s nice to see someone proud of their hometown. All in all I will go out of my way to see MIW every tour if possible they’re that amazing. I’m hoping for VIP even next time to personally thank them for their music 🖤

  • It was okay

by Liljeni27 on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 3 out of 5

The bands were all amazing, but the headliner (MIW) took about 45minutes-hour to set up. We had to leave early because we were sitting too long in the freezing cold waiting. The lines for food were ridiculously long because they only accept cards now and none of their mobile card readers were working properly. If you’re going to switch the entire venue to cashless, at least put permanent machines that can handle it.

  • Apocalypse Fest

by Mom on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

Nice venue. Excellent show. Merch tables could have been better located. They blocked the entrance

  • Apocolypse fest

by Godzillaman63 on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

  • Always a Fantastic Show

by Janie on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 5 out of 5

Motionless in White never disappoints, and their festival in Scranton was no exception. 100% will be going every year they have it.

  • The performers were great but…

by Owen on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 3 out of 5

Every single band did amazing but, the staff was very under prepared. When I showed up security made everyone turn back to get scanned through as they were not set up and then when we got to ticket scanning they did not work properly. The audio staff also had issues with figuring out what they are supposed to do to have the performers sound good.

  • MIW was amazing

by MIW on 9/19/23The Pavilion at Montage Mountain - ScrantonRating: 4 out of 5

MIW was amazing, however the Live nation staff was a bit of a mess. not being able to tell people what lines were what for where to go and then not being ready to check people in at the stated time. Security was great. The show was amazing.
