About

MOE. IN CONCERT:

When it comes to taking risks on stage, few bands lay it all on the line like beloved jam rockers moe. Whether they're tackling fan favorites like "Plane Crash" or whipping up a creative cover of Paul Simon's "Late in the Evening", moe. remain rigorously dedicated to live improvisation and experimentation, delivering their sets with a sense of humor and showmanship that make them one of the most entertaining acts in the business. Festival favorites who've played Bonnaroo five times and counting, moe. continue to deliver the jams on their fun-filled tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Moe. was formed by a group of University of Buffalo students who got together in 1989 to perform at a friend's Halloween party. They continued to play together over the next several years, and in 1992 they released their debut album Fatboy. The band's impressive live shows helped establish them in the New York region, and by the time their 1994 sophomore album Headseed was released the members had all quit their day jobs and relocated to Albany to focus on the project full-time.  The band continued to release solid albums, and by the '00s they were appearing to adoring throngs at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo, where their 2002 set earned them a Jammy Award (the jam band equivalent of a Grammy). Moe. released their 11th studio album No Guts, No Glory! in 2014, and they continue to create plenty of on-the-fly magic on their unforgettable tours.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This was an incredible performance by a group of extremely talented musicians. They seemed passionate about giving a great show to their fans and played a very long set that never had a dull moment."

"Typical moe., Tons of Energy, Awesome Jams and the Buddha was there with full on horns to compliment the songs.

"moe. never disappoints. Cookin Songs. Heavy Jammin'. This is all you need to know."

    moe. shows up ratdog

by brianm on 7/21/09Masquerade - Atlanta

Many .rons will claim moe. peaked several years ago. This may or may not be true, however you are cheating yourself a great music experience by skipping out on this band. If what you crave is a band that truly cares about the show it puts on and consistently delivers, moe. is your band. moe. continues its tradition of playing songs to appease the masses and sneaking enough old school in to keep its most loyal fans coming back. Ratdog, on the other hand, is a nostalgic act at best. Rather than delivering a set packed with Bob Weir's Grateful Dead standards, Bobby and Ratdog instead deliver sets where the majority of the songs are (were?) Jerry's. Ratdog can bring the house down, and when they bust into an old school Bobby song and find a nice jam its worth the price of admission. But the current Ratdog lineup does far too much noodling for a non-diehard Dead/Bobby fan to really enjoy the show.

I really enjoyed myself. We could not have had better weather for such an event! Mr. Bobby Weir and Ratdog were amazing. They played all my old favorites and had the crowd going insane. Moe is always exciting and cheerful. And late night with Pgroove was the best topping on any cake!

    What a GREAT TIME!

by DrKurt on 7/20/09Masquerade - Atlanta

This was my first time at the Masquerade (outside)..... what a great hidden gem..... it had the feel of a music festival in the heart of Atlanta...... the weather was perfect.... and The music was great. In my opinion MOE was the Highlight!!!!! They simply BROUGHT IT! Ratdog was not on their game..... the tempo seemed to stay the same throughout....very little dynamics and low energy...... That being said..... if they held it again...... I would be there.... OVERALL a really great Time!!!! DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!!! PEACE!!!!

    GREAT SHOW

by BornDead on 7/20/09Masquerade - Atlanta

The show was GREAT! Didn't know too much about Moe before going to the show. I was really surprised. They where wonderful. Someone i would diffently go see again. And of course, what can I say about Bobby that hasn't already been said. He is outstanding!!! I have seen Ratdog several times and always have the best times at the shows. Jerry would be proud!

    Al - on - fiya!

by Recordsgalore on 7/19/09The Pageant - St Louis

That was #32 for me and when they broke into 32 things I almost lost it. From there it was just mayhem. For example, never seen Al standing on a monitor soloing to the crowd (w/wild abandon). Then leaping over the monitor and "facing off" for minutes with Chuck trading solo's back and forth - whoooooooish! Makes my head spin thinking about it 3 nights later. All I can say is "thanks" for making me realize why I've followed this band so intently for 8+ years now. I only have regrets for not "getting it" before 2001. Don't miss them if they pop into a venue near you!!

Great show in a down-market venue...

by AlabamaDavid on 7/19/09Masquerade - Atlanta

Actually the title says it all. Moe knew they had an afternoon crowd in a dump of a venue, and played a pretty good set anyway. Toward the end, from "Sensory Deprivation" on out, they gave us what we came for. I'll be back every time Moe comes to Atlanta, but hopefully they can get booked into a real place next time.

    Ratdog never disappoints!!!!!

    by BuddyBoy1970 on 7/19/09Masquerade - Atlanta

Its been several years since I've seen Ratdog, and they seem to get better with age. I've never seen Moe and I really enjoyed their set too. They are very solid musicians. The crowd was very cool and we had a great time. Just One More Saturday Night. My wife said that the port-a-potties didn't stink so that was a plus also. Buddy.

    moe. rocked

by eerae on 7/17/09The Pageant - St Louis

moe. put on a great show last night at the Pageant. I'm really getting into this band, they consistently put on a rockin show every time and have never disappointed. After All Roads lead to Home, they played nonstop for like 47 minutes. I didn't know all of the songs, but they were all definitely tight. I got pretty close during the second set and Rob looked pretty high or something, but still kicked ass.
