  • When In Rome!!!!!!!!

by MtnSplash on 1/26/16The Cave - Big Bear LakeRating: 4 out of 5

When In Rome was OUTSTANDING!!!! Bow Wow Wow Rocked it. Missing Persons, well, we left early. A Missing Persons tribute band would have been better. Dale just doesn't have it any more. They started the set with two of their big hits then played a bunch of lesser known stuff and some songs I had never heard of. The show just kept going down hill from there. I was bored and disappointed as was the rest of my party. We couldn't take it after about the 6th song and left. :-(.

  • The lead singer makes the band - Buyer Beware

by ForeverAnnabella on 1/16/16The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 3 out of 5

I was so excited when the concert announcement hit, that I believe I bought the first tickets. Front and center and so excited. Until the show. No Clive Farrington with "When in Rome." That said, the band and new lead singer made it their own. I could forgive and, if not performing under the name "When in Rome," I could become a fan. But Bow wow wow without Annabella is a bad cover band insulting my 15-year old fan-girl. It was sad, disappointing, and unforgivable. The whole attraction for Bow wow wow was this young teen girl taking on the pop-punk world as we headed to the New Wave era. She was everything we wanted to be back in the early '80s. #ForeverAnnabella Dale Bozio brought me to tears. She is honest and authentic. She's not trying to be her '80s Playboy Bunny self, but her 60-year old authentic self. She was my role model when I was 16 and driving around LA with the rag-top down working out my teen angst, and a great role model for my 50-year old self (who is getting a new rag-top and will inaugurate it with some classic Missing Persons).

  • Fun night of retro new wave

by ndconcerts on 1/12/16The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 4 out of 5

I had never seen any of the four acts on this bill. I was also not a huge fan of any of them, but I liked a few songs here and there and was willing to give them a shot. I really like the venue, and the seats my friend and myself had were perfect. The music started off with Canadian 3-piece Trans-X. Apparently they had a minor hit with a song called "Living On Video" in 1986, but I hadn't heard of them before. They seemed okay; my friend liked them more than I did. Next was When In Rome, which features the original lead singer. He had a lot of personality, but I thought he oversang quite a bit. It seemed at times like he was trying to channel Springsteen, which didn't really gel with the kind of pop they're known for (imagine Bruce wailing his way through When In Rome's 1988 hit "The Promise", and you get the idea). Bow Wow Wow were next. They had the most energy of all the bands on the bill but featured only one original member (the bassist). Still, they did a decent job, but their brand of ska-punk seemed out of place on a bill like this one. Missing Persons closed, and they did a very good job, even if they neglected to perform their 1983 hit "Destination Unknown". Singer Dale Bozzio may look her age (she's in her sixties now), but she sounded great, as did the rest of the band. My friend and I managed to meet her after the concert and she was very nice. It was a good way to close out a fun evening, flaws and all.

  • When in Rome was amazing!

    by TLB123 on 1/5/16The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 4 out of 5

When in Rome was actually the best act--they were clear and sharp and sounded just like their recordings. The other other groups had the amps turned up so loud that the drums and music drowned out the lyrics and gave me a headache. Dale Bozzio did have some inspirational messages to the audience and was very appreciative of her fans. We did enjoy their music as well! The venue was great--very comfortable seating at a table BUT the event was TOO LONG since we were asked to be there at 7 for dinner, the bands started after 9 and did not finish until approx 1am.

  • Exceptional unforgettable show!!

by Jenny1400 on 12/17/15Central Library Theatre - Huntington BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Beyond awesome show!! Dale Bozzio is practically the same since the 80's, with a beautiful deep tone to her voice, and knows how to ROCK!! I was definitely star struck by one of the biggest female icons of the 80's. The band was on point, and the sound was spectacular! I'm excited to see them again with Billy Idol and Culture Club at iHeart 80's festival in Feb.

  • Missing Persons @ Alpine Village in LA

by AmandaStad on 6/5/15Alpine Village - Torrance / LARating: 5 out of 5

Me and my friends are all in our early 20's, and we really enjoyed Missing Person's full performance from start to finish. Dale's voice is strong, raspy, and she hits all those 'Betty Boop' high notes she's known for. Every band member was phenomenal, with high energy that kept us dancing and bobbin our heads! All their songs rocked..there was never a dull moment!!

  • Missing Persons was MIA...

by TRMRSFan on 7/9/13StillWater - Dana PointRating: 1 out of 5

Gig at StillWater in Dana Point, CA on 7/5/13...waste of my hard-earned money. Dale and the band were a mess. I go out to a lot of live music and this was awful stuff. There are always some drunkards who want to dance to 80's songs so the bar was selling drinks; however, a decent 80's cover band would have done a much better job with the songs than MP did. I felt embarassed for all of them. Sad.

  • missing persons missing until too late!!!

by npletdown on 2/12/13Tiki Bar - Costa MesaRating: 1 out of 5

The tickets said 7 pm so we got there at 8pm thinking she would go on at 10pm. It's an 80's band. She's 57! Midnight? At least say that on the ticket or say something about 5 bands before her! Waste of money. At our age we are paying a babysitter or hoping our teenagers are not burning down our house. get a little in touch with the audience that actually remembers you!

  • Missing Persons Diehard Band Members

    by bgybtrs on 11/7/11Marquee 15 - CoronaRating: 2 out of 5

Poor Dale Bozzio was released from the hospital that morning and we could tell she was sick. She seemed to suffer from a sore throat but still came to the show! She looks great and if she was not sick she would have sounded great too. The instruments drowned out her voice most of the time so the music was too loud. It would have probably been better if she had re-scheduled and if the amp was turned down some. The first two bands that opened for her sucked especially the 2nd band but the last two were pretty good. I believe they were called xcntric and ontario. The drinks were reasonably priced and the food was good. The booth we had constantly had people standing infront of it and there was a drunk guy that was harrassing us because we had to continually ask him to move so we could see. I did not like the fact that we had to share the booth with strangers (as it was their friend) who was not seated with us that kept harrassing us. The security came by a few times to shoo people on but ultimately not enough because it kept happening.

  • 30th Anniversary Fiasco

by SouthBaySpud on 6/13/11The Can - Garden GroveRating: 2 out of 5

Ignoring the arrogance of Warren, Dale forgetting the lyrics to all their big hits, the guitar issues at the beginning of the show that caused a 15-20 min delay along w/Dale & Warren's rant w/the audience, I guess it was a decent show for those that stuck around to see it. Not how I would've liked to seen a show tabbed as a 30th anniversary show. Granted the sound & guitar issues might have been the club's fault, as Warren multiple times pointed out, but there's no excuse for Dale's inability to remember lyrics. How many times has she sung those songs before? Constantly looking to Warren to help her remember was pretty pathetic. Even Warren got annoyed when Dale went silent during the 1st verse of "Walking In LA". I thought he was going to walk off the stage again like he did during the opening song "Mental Hopscotch" when the whole guitar issue happened. It's too bad it had to go that way. Hopefully, they'll be other shows in the future so they can redeem themselves.

  • Absolutely horrible, left after first song

by LordHog on 6/12/11The CAN - Garden GroveRating: 1 out of 5

Saw Missing Persons at The Can in Garden Grove, CA tonight. First, the tickets said show starts at 6. Arrived at 7:00 not wanting to see the opener. The opener started at 7 anyways then they had about 7-8 bands each playing about 30 minutes before Missing Persons finally starting playing at 1 AM. The sound was horrible as they turned up the volume too loud. In addition, the guitar was over powering and couldn't really hear the other instruments. People in the audience was yelling during sound check that the guitar was over powering everything else. The guitarist appeared to be arrogant as he said that is the way it should be. Once Dale got on stage you couldn't hear her for the first 20-30 seconds as the vocal level was drowned out. They finally fixed it, but I wished they hadn't. Dale's voice was absolutely horrible. I couldn't bare any more and left just as the first song, Mental Hopscotch. This has to be the worst show I have seen in my life. Do yourself a favor, don't go to see this show.

  • Missing Persons Missing Talent

by TerryBozzioMIA on 3/1/114th and B - San DiegoRating: 1 out of 5

I don't know how they get away with using images of the old band including Terry Bozzio when what was presented onstage was such a farce. Dale looked homeless. I read she was supposed to be the "original Lady Gaga" but she put forth no effort in costume, vocal or showmanship. The band looked disinterested from the downbeat and quit on the first song... literally just stopped playing. It felt and sounded like a rehearsal. Was there no sound check? Honestly, the Depeche Mode cover band that played before them was a lot more entertaining!

  • Missing Persons, Tommy Tutone, Gene Loves Jezebel

by MusicGuy99 on 3/19/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

This was a great time! It was great to see Tommy Tutone and Gene Loves Jezebel, both doing acoustic sets and in excellent voice. Missing Persons sounded great, and their songs sound just as good today as they did then.

  • Missing Persons Rocked

by VWPET on 3/16/10B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I did not know what to expect but Dale was better than ever! The band was tight, the music was relavant and makes me think Missing Persons should make a new album. Dales voice is so unique she blows all those chicks who imitate her (and think they are creating something new and edgy) out of the water.

  • Some Persons are Still Missing

by MCBMfg on 8/4/094th and B - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

Technically, the show should have been billed as "Dale Bozzio with a Missing Persons Cover Band" since Dale was the only original band member to perform (The last time I saw MP in concert, there were three original members on stage). This is not to detract from the band however. I'm a die hard MP fan, so I naturally enjoyed this show. Highlights: hearing any MP music performed live is a blast from the past; the hired band covered well and was a talented assortment musicians. Lowlights: Dale doesn't hit the "squeals" as high or as consistently as she did in her more formative years. She also seemed stand-offish (to use an MP term), standing most of the time away from the front of the stage and outside the spotlights. The venue, 4th and B, was a decent joint to see a small show such as this. The sound was fair to good. Drinks were medium to pricey. And the overall feel was divey, industrial. There were about 300 heads in the audience, whereas the club can accomodate up to 1200.

  • missing persons

by cmmwiz on 7/26/09The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 5 out of 5

Sounded fresh, missed the tall high heels and nylons.opened with mental hopscotcth, which I was hoping they would of saved it for near the end. one of my favorites. My wife , 22 yr old son who is a drummer and guitarist and I sat at a higher table and had a great view. others were not as fortunate. We all enjoyed the kids "slatr" and "thorn" who played prior to missing persons. That was a bonus! The canyon club sometimes get a bad rap, because someone shows up late and couldn't see the stage because they were only 5'2". For what the entertainers charge, don't be cheap and reserve a table for the dinner and you can really enjoy the show instead of rubbing shoulders with some strangers

  • Missing Persons still decent after all these years

by nohopaul on 7/26/09The Canyon - Agoura HillsRating: 3 out of 5

Pretty solid show considering that the band was at its height in the early 80s. Aside from Dale being a little disengaged from the audience and having a baseball cap on backwards, she still sounds as good as ever.
