Minus The Bear is AMAZING to see live!

by MJL321 on 10/29/13The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

I have been listening to Minus the Bear for years, I have almost every album and I have seen them play a few times. I was so blown away by their performance at the Electric Factory on October 26th. I honestly did not think I could love this band any more, but the music and lyrics are so honest, and that honesty really shines when they are playing live.

    Awesome concert

by WejalStix on 10/29/13The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Minus the Bear was amazing. It was everything that I hoped it would be and more. The opening acts were very good as well. Electric Factory was a great building and I would definitely go again.

Minus the bear add joy to your day

by Zerick on 10/29/13The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

They were amazing. Played a long set, switched up to acoustic for a bit, a bunch of hits mixed with old tracks, I was extremely satisfied & want to see them again.

    Sort of entertaining

by Anonymous on 10/27/13Royale Boston - Boston

The band is fine. Not great, not terrible. Their tracks all sound basically the same; I knew this going into the show.

Minus the Bear. Love. Fonda. Not so much.

by yeahyeahyeahyeah on 9/20/13The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

Third time seeing Minus the Bear in SoCal. The first two times were at The Troubadour and the Glass House. These guys are absolutely fantastic live. Seeing them at the Fonda was depressing. This band is capable of pulling off one of the best shows that I've had the pleasure of seeing and the sound for them that night was really quite terrible. Bass and drums were too loud. Guitars were not loud enough and unbalanced. Vocals were feeding back and their backing track (which they use for added layers/samples/etc for songs like "Into the Mirror") was too quiet. This is supposed to be a professional entertainment venue and it sounded like it was mixed by a 17 year old DJ.

    Minus the class.

by mannabutt on 9/15/13Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas - Las Vegas

Minus the Bear started at nine thirty, even though doors opened at seven. They played for a little over an hour and the set list was very mellow which was not appealing in the hectic environment that the Boulevard pool provides. I was more disappointed with the Cosmopolitian and the audience members than the actual band. I will not be seeing any other performance at the Cosmopolitian.

Wow, what a fantastic show!! Minus the Bear was awesome! This was my fourth time seeming them and I can honestly say they sound better every time. The vocals were smooth as always and make me fall in love with them all over again!

Never too old for Minus the Bear

by honeebee309 on 9/13/13The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

Minus the Bear never disappoints. I've been seeing them for almost a decade now and they continue to just get better and better. They don't just play their 'new' songs --they play all the obscure tracks from their EPs and early albums such as 'Highly Refined Pirates.' Get as close as you can to stage--you do not want to be sitting for a MTB show.

I had never heard of Now, Now, but they sounded great! I actually ended up buying their CD after the show. Circa Survive was very energetic, and though they're far from my favorite group they put on a pretty good show as well. Minus the Bear was stellar. They sounded even better live than they do on their studio albums, and I expected the opposite. Dave created all of the special effects during the show and used his feet and hands to control the clips on his DL-4. They had a great stage presence, and as we were leaving we ran into them around back of the music hall, said a few words and they thanked us. Easily one of my top three favorite concerts I've ever been to, awesome, awesome band.

Now, Now was great, Circa was even better, and Minus was freaking amazing. It was the best concert I've ever been to and I would highly recommend seeing them. When they come back I'm going to be there.

Hands Down The Greatest MtB Show Yet!

by Pridewar12 on 11/15/12The Glass House - Pomona

This was my 5th year in a row seeing Minus the Bear @ The Glass House in Pomona CA. All 5 shows in November coincidentally enough (except for 1 back in march of 2009 which was supposed to have been held @The Glass House, but was cancelled and rescheduled for 2 days later @The Fox Theatre right across the street from The Glass House). This was by far the best of those 5 shows. Everything from the sound, the lights, the ambiance, & the setlist was perfect. Their selection of songs played was incredible. With a new album recently being released (Infinity Overhead), you would think that the majority of the show would consist of songs from that album. That was not the case. Although a handful of songs from that album were played, their setlist was an hour and a half long. So they played songs from every one of their albums it seemed. It was absolutely fantastic, and the people who came along with me were a perfect addition to an already stellar show. The bar has been raised from here on out. I will now judge all of their future shows against this one. And its going to be hard for them to top, but if any band can do it, they can. To describe the show in the least amount of words possible ;Face Melting, Baby Making Music EPICNESS!

    Balls! full of confetti!

by MinusTheClothes on 11/13/12Club Nokia - Los Angeles

Minus The Bear played an awesome set covering songs from tgeir past 3 albums. I liked that they didnt talk too much between songs and kept the show moving but didnt ignore the audience, there was still plenty of interaction.

They were amazing. I wish they had a longer line up. Too many good songs to play not enough time.
