MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET ON TOUR:

Hot on the heels of its Broadway run, rock and roll musical Million Dollar Quartet is on the road to tell the story of the fateful meeting between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash at an impromptu jam session in December of 1956. The musical focuses on these newcomers before they became icons, gathered for a rare collaboration at Sun Studios in Memphis. The cast brilliantly portrays the original performers while playing each timeless track with perfection and ease. Million Dollar Quartet will have fans all shook up this summer with their red-hot 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of four Southern rock legends who unexpectedly came together in 1956 for a very spontaneous recording session at Sun Studios. Since its 2007 premiere, the electrifying production has graced theaters across the US, landing on Broadway in 2010 for an acclaimed year-long run. Nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Musical, Million Dollar Quartet transports audiences back in time to the golden age of rock and roll with an iconic collection of hits that will leave fans feeling like a million bucks.

    great show

by funycarkid on 10/31/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

My wife and I are starting the empty nest part of our lives. and we have had more time together and have found R.B.T.L. interesting. She usually picks the shows but I suggested The Million Dollar Quartet. We both loved every second of it. All of the characters did a very good of the real celebrity they were playing perfectly and could entertain a theater on their own as their own as them self's and not being in character.

    Million Dollar Quartet

by nopze on 10/30/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

This show is a real gem! The performers were very talented and their imitations of their characters were perfect. It was a walk down memory lane for us and thoroughly enjoyable for my son and his wife who are in their forties. The story line and flashbacks help tie the music together and explained the connections and circumstances. I would see it again, if I had the chance. The finale was such a great way to end the show!

Great show! The musicians were excellent and the actors who played Elvis and Johnny Cash sounded just like them. Not much for acting just some great music and a little history about the start of rock n roll.

    Million Dollar Quartet was fabulous

by Artlover123 on 10/29/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

We really enjoyed the fabulous show on Thursday, October 27. The cast was obviously selected from very talented musicians -- they were all outstanding. Unfortunately, the sign language interpreter was a huge distraction. She was under a spotlight, and we just could not ignore her or her hand movements. Please -- let people know in advance of ticket purchase that an interpreter will be present. We would have selected a different show if we had known.

Million Quartet was a Great Show

by SprintRs on 10/28/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

I was a little skeptical about seeing the show. We had seen Jersey Boys last year, and we knew that their show had set high expectations. We're glad we did. It was a great show, very entertaining. All of the actors played their characters spot on. You will not be disappointed!

    "Million Dollar Quartet" was incredible!

by Turkbrew on 10/28/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

"Million Dollar Quartet" was incredible, one of the best shows I've ever seen. The actors playing Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins were extremely talented, having to act, play instruments, sing, and imitate, which they did to a T. At times, I felt like I was watching and listening to the real deals! If you get a chance, you've got to go!

    Million Dollar Quartet was Fabulous!

by Clista on 10/28/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

From start to finish, it was a fabulous event. I am not sure whether I should call it a play or a concert, because it was both. All of the actors were extremely talented with great voices. Since I did not know anything about Carl Perkins, I cannot compare that actor to the real person, but he had a great voice and could really play the guitar. The actors playing Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis were great and especially the actor playing Elvis looked just like him, moved like him and sang like him. But to me, the one that brought down the house was the actor playing Johnny Cash. When he said "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash," you thought that Johnny had come back from the dead. I do not want to forget the actors playing Sam and Diane because their performances were also outstanding. The audience loved it and clapped and yelled throughout the entire performance. It was wonderful, and I would highly recommend it to my friends. In fact, I already have.

    Fantastic entertainment

by Chimba on 10/28/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

We decided to go to this on the spur of the moment after hearing an interview on the radio with one of the lead characters. It was fantastic! The music was great -- I sang the songs (silently in consideration of others around me) and we both bopped in our seats throughout the entire production. This ranks right up there with Jersey Boys for nostalgia and incredible entertainment. Go!

Million Dollar Quartet worth every penney!

by WaitingForSnow on 10/28/11Rochester Auditorium Theatre - Rochester

All I can say is that we hated to see it end. Each actor stayed in character and was believable in his role. Excellent. Treat yourself and buy a ticket. It will not disappoint.
