MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET ON TOUR:

Hot on the heels of its Broadway run, rock and roll musical Million Dollar Quartet is on the road to tell the story of the fateful meeting between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash at an impromptu jam session in December of 1956. The musical focuses on these newcomers before they became icons, gathered for a rare collaboration at Sun Studios in Memphis. The cast brilliantly portrays the original performers while playing each timeless track with perfection and ease. Million Dollar Quartet will have fans all shook up this summer with their red-hot 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of four Southern rock legends who unexpectedly came together in 1956 for a very spontaneous recording session at Sun Studios. Since its 2007 premiere, the electrifying production has graced theaters across the US, landing on Broadway in 2010 for an acclaimed year-long run. Nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Musical, Million Dollar Quartet transports audiences back in time to the golden age of rock and roll with an iconic collection of hits that will leave fans feeling like a million bucks.

Million Dollar Quartet was just GREAT!!

by Grandmil on 10/22/10Nederlander Theatre - New York

The show was two hours of non stop happiness! It made me laugh and grin from ear to ear from the first moment to the last note! It was hard not to believe that I wasn't really watching Elvis, Jerry, Johnny, and Carl come alive! It was easy to see that the entire audience was taken back to 1956!

    Worth A Million Dollars!

by MDQFan on 10/22/10Nederlander Theatre - New York

I've seen quite a few Broadway plays, but this one was unforgettable. Even if you aren't fond of the music of that era, the characters' talent will draw you in and have you dancing in the aisles by the end of the night! This is a show I would be more than happy to see a second and third time.

    Highly entertaining

This play was very good, and the cast was very talented, especially the actor that played Jerry Lee Lewis. He really livened up the first half. The second half was amazing. It was like a mini concert. I loved the idea of no intermission. that was a great idea.

    Million Dollar Quartet

Singers were excellently matched to respective artists and story line though superficial fit well into play. Loved Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis and marveled how close Johnny Cash singer was to the real Johnny Cash (though he looked like Babe Ruth). CArl Perkins guitar playing was excellent as well. Still wondering how lady singer fit in though likley good for play, not original event.

If only the original quartet had recorded that night! The play was so enjoyable. The cast really had us thinking they were the real Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and Carl Perkins. The musicianship and voices of the cast members were amazing.

    Worth a Million!

    by JAC307 on 10/19/10Apollo Theater - Chicago

To begin, the reason we went was beause a number of people recommended the show. I thought it was something my mother, who is in her 70's, would enjoy. Needless to say, what a fun show. Every single cast member was exceptional... the talent was second to none. They not only sang but played the musical instruments. There were 7 people in our group ages ranging from 32 - 75. Each one of us walked out of there and said we loved it. You don' t have to have grown up with this music, most of us have heard it and know the artists to appreciate the story. I wouldn't take a 7 year old, but a young adult I believe would enjoy it very much. The venue at Apollo is small. We sat center section in the 2nd to the last row (H). The seats were perfect. Last row in Section 3 looked like the perfect place also because those seats offered even more leg room. I would not sit in the far right or far left sections because some of the seats you would be looking at their backs. The 3 middle sections are great. I would see this show again.
