MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET ON TOUR:

Hot on the heels of its Broadway run, rock and roll musical Million Dollar Quartet is on the road to tell the story of the fateful meeting between Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash at an impromptu jam session in December of 1956. The musical focuses on these newcomers before they became icons, gathered for a rare collaboration at Sun Studios in Memphis. The cast brilliantly portrays the original performers while playing each timeless track with perfection and ease. Million Dollar Quartet will have fans all shook up this summer with their red-hot 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of four Southern rock legends who unexpectedly came together in 1956 for a very spontaneous recording session at Sun Studios. Since its 2007 premiere, the electrifying production has graced theaters across the US, landing on Broadway in 2010 for an acclaimed year-long run. Nominated for three Tony Awards including Best Musical, Million Dollar Quartet transports audiences back in time to the golden age of rock and roll with an iconic collection of hits that will leave fans feeling like a million bucks.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

“This was an excellent presentation - fun, upbeat, completely a blast! The cast was full of excitement. I laughed and sang along the whole time, and I ended up on my feet with the rest of the audience, clapping and dancing. If you want a fun and lighthearted night out, go see Million Dollar Quartet!”

“This was a fantastic show! The music, the stage, the acting — all were wonderful! I wasn't bored once and all of the actors were awesome!”

“I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. It was a great story played out extremely well by the cast. The performers were great in their roles and some of them were truly outstanding musical talents. We had an enjoyable evening and would recommend this show to everyone.”

    Jerry Lee was fabulous

by thebeanrocks17 on 10/25/10Nederlander Theatre - New York

The show was a delightful surprise. It was a little hard to understand what the owner of Sun records was saying sometimes. The music produced by the cast overcame the lack of hearing. The ending sends you home with a great smile and happy feeling. Very glad I purchased a ticket!

    The Big If

by Spanikopita on 10/25/10Nederlander Theatre - New York

If you know the words to the songs, you will enjoy the performances better; terrible diction except for the Jerry Lee Lewis portrayer. If you enjoy the music of this era, you will enjoy the performances as the interpretations were very well done. If you would be intrigued by hearing history come to life--about the artists, the roots of rock-and-roll, and Sam Phillips'/Sun Records' roll in both--you will enjoy it. (If you have been to Memphis and Sun Records studio, that will add an extra depth to your enjoyment!)

    Million Dollar Quartet

by mubtub on 10/25/10Nederlander Theatre - New York

A bit slow - I honestly expected more of a Wow. Jerry Lee Lewis character actor was terrific and Johnnty Cash was good. The back up drummer and cello player were very good. But the play overall was a bit too slow for me. And I love Broadway.

This was a smaller venue but packed a big punch. The boys were very talented and entertained with everything they had. I would highly recommend this show - before it leaves.

WE WERE THERE!! ....and we loved it!!

    by ws1017 on 10/24/10Apollo Theater - Chicago

We were so impressed with this group of performers.....they are talented actors, but the fact that they can play and sing the songs of such well-know musical "legends" is just amazing! Sean Sullivan deserves a special mention for truly capturing the essence of Johnny Cash. Also, noone should overlook the talent of the drummer and the bass player...they keep a constant stream of music and accompaniment going throughout the show....really talented guys!! We also loved the way the "story" was put together around the event of the one evening, but also gives you a look back at each performer's history with Sun Records and uses the evening as a turning point for their futures beyond Sun. This was a great show and an awesome concert by stars who we never could have hoped to see perform together. We cannot recommend it highly enough!!!

    Sadly not what I hoped

by MrsH2Os on 10/22/10Nederlander Theatre - New York

The actors are GREAT! The direction stinks. The show DIES in between every song. Had only a few nights to see Broadway shows. I am very sorry I choose this one.

My husband and I enjoyed Million Dollar Quartet. It was a lot of fun and the 4 main characters portraying Elvis, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash were all outstanding musicians and performers. They put on a great show. If you are into the music from that era you'll have a great time.

    Million dollar Quartet rocked.

    by jerman0519 on 10/22/10Apollo Theater - Chicago

professionally performed and produced. Terrific venue. Only negative , I felt, was the character of Elvis' girlfriend. I felt that her character was unnecessary. Even Jerry Lee Lewis' understudy was marvelous
