In the annals of pop music history, 2013 will forever be known as the year of Miley Cyrus. Facing unprecedented levels of public scrutiny over her racy image, her appropriation of hip hop culture, and even her haircut, the former Disney star still managed to come out on top, releasing her fourth studio album Bangerz to critical acclaim and a number-one spot on the Billboard 200. With production help from top-shelf producers including Pharrell Williams, will.i.am, and Dr. Luke, Bangerz features a unique hybrid of country and hip hop that has clearly resonated with audiences, earning Miley her first US number-one hit “Wrecking Ball.”
Rivaling the success of Bangerz has been the controversy surrounding Miley’s dramatic new image, which borrows heavily from “ratchet” culture in the form of grills, bling, and twerking. Provocative music videos for “Wrecking Ball” (dir. Terry Richardson) and “We Can’t Stop,” along with her infamous performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, raised more than a few eyebrows, and even inspired a series of concerned open letters from Sinead O’Connor. Debate over Miley’s new image, however, has done nothing to hinder her success -- the videos for “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop” shattered Vimeo viewing records, and her VMA performance was the most tweeted about performance in the history of, well, Twitter. Add to that a successful October 5 appearance on Saturday Night Live and you could say Miley’s year has been “pretty cool.” Fans can catch Miley LIVE in concert on her 2013 Jingle Ball tour – even if you don’t know how to twerk, it’s sure to be an experience to remember.
Miley’s career as an entertainer began in 2003 with several small acting roles, including an appearance opposite her father Billy Ray Cyrus on his hit show Doc. In 2006, she launched to mainstream success with her breakout role in Disney’s Hannah Montana, which spawned several films and albums, including her multi-platinum pop debut Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus. In 2009, Miley gained exposure to country audiences with crossover hit “The Climb,” featured on the soundtrack for Hannah Montana: The Movie. Her third studio album, 2010’s Can’t Be Tamed, marked a departure for Miley -- the inclusion of dance elements and a distinctly more suggestive image foreshadowed what would ultimately come to fruition on 2013’s Bangerz, her biggest success to date.
What a great show!!! Miley is a great showperson with an exceptional band and troupe of dancers. I don't know much about Miley Cyrus, I took my niece who is a big fan, but I was very impressed to say the least. Great performance on top of a very cool stage set.
The production was great. I liked all the graphics, effects, lightings and of course the music. I think my husband and I enjoyed it more than my girls. But of course, it was priceless to see the look on the face of my two girls when they found out on the day of the event that they were gonna watch. The only thing I didn't like was the seating. There was not enough space for people to go through the aisle seating. It was our first time watching an event at Oracle Arena in Oakland. Everything else was very good.
If I could afford it, I wold go again. It was an amazingly well done performance. Well worth the money. Miley rocks!
seen the show lastnight was very very very great // very power full and busy .busy is good because you keep your fans involed with you . your brother and his band put on a good show too. well back to you You are very talented and have a wide range of playing talent on instruments keep that up the more you can play the farther you will go. your group that you play with very impressive you all keep up the hardwork . you think you have gone far just . just keep playing as a group and you will be amazed . that was my first time seeing eitheir of you rember take care of each other .... Have a good tour .. and rember no drugs alcohol or cigarets cause don/t want to see that talent go to waste p/s might want to play the guitar before or afterthe piano act ..... takecare and good JMH///

After reading a review of her Portland show, where the reported commented on too-revealing-clothes, I have to say, I disagree. I thought her costumes were fun and appropriate for a sixteen year old. Lots of great music, dancing and sets! My seven-year-old have a great time and will always remember her first concert!
My girls who are 8 and 10 were so excited about going to see MIley in concert. This was their first concert and it did not disappoint them in the least. It was very entertaining for me also. I figured I was taking one for the team but I really enjoyed it also. She has a great energy that you can't help but enjoy.
So I initially bought these tickets for my five year old. Little did I know, Miley has really come a long way. Her talents have increased tenfold. I'm fairly sure that I was every bit as entertained as my daughter; a truly memorable evening!
great show!!!!!!i wish she would have sang more of her older songs from her miley cyrus movie but we loved it !!!!!i went with my granddaughter and her friends and we had soooo much fun!!!!!!
I took my 5 year old daughter and I have to admit, I enjoyed it just as much as she did. The concert was awesome. The special effects were great. Miley flying through the air and the Harley with her on it flying, was cool. I would recommend her concert to anyone.
She had awsome dance routines, at one point she got a zipline cord and flew around the arena (during "fly on the wall"). Sometimes it was hard to hear her because of all the girls screaming but it was a great concert experience.
This concert was worth every penny!! It was truly a five star performance! Miley Cyrus has some amazing vocals an dance moves. Her dancers are all very talented and the set of the stage is crazyyy! Miley even does her own stunts such as flying over the audience and jumping backward of the stage! If I had the money I would buy tickets to the San Jose show too!! Truly an enjoyable show for ALL ages!!! You don't even have to like Miley to enjoy the show!
Staging was wonderful to see. Thrilled to see so many young kids screaming their hearts out and waving their light sticks. I know I'm old and not the target audience, just want to see if Miley can grow as a performer and realize there is more to commanding great stage presence than flipping her hair. Surely her choreographer can come up with something better.
Miley's concert was totally awesome! It was my first concert. The music rocked, the dancers were wicked the whole show was the coolest!
She was so good and energetic. Amazing performance! Nice voice. Very pretty. We were expecting her to sing some familiar song but it's a Miley Cyrus concert and it would have been more fun if she sang Hannah Montana songs that the 7 and below age groups are familiar with. I guess she wants to market herself as a young adult.
Starting with the openers, Metro Station, they alone put on one of the best performances I have ever seen, & I have seen a lot! Miley next, kept her performance clean, up beat, and rocked it. I really enjoyed everything. This is definitely a show for all ages.
She did a great job ! Only a little over an hour and for the $100 tickets we were hoping for more. Her outfit changes and stage changes were great. I would have liked to see her interact with the crowd a little more.
I have to say Miley has a great way of including her fans, even the ones in the very back. The energie is unexplanable. she engages all. special evect amazing. a night to remember. for all ages. money well spent a memery my children will remember.
Great performance from Miley Cyrus. She is definitely performing as herself as there were no signs of Hannah Montana throughout the show. I think Miley is a very talented young lady and it was an awesome show. Hats off to her!! I took my 8 year old daughter and she LOVED it!!
This was my first Miley concert. She was amazing. Her show was great with the dancers, the movie screens and best of all she really does sound like her CD. I would definately see her again. Miley rocks.
