About

In the annals of pop music history, 2013 will forever be known as the year of Miley Cyrus. Facing unprecedented levels of public scrutiny over her racy image, her appropriation of hip hop culture, and even her haircut, the former Disney star still managed to come out on top, releasing her fourth studio album Bangerz to critical acclaim and a number-one spot on the Billboard 200. With production help from top-shelf producers including Pharrell Williams, will.i.am, and Dr. Luke, Bangerz features a unique hybrid of country and hip hop that has clearly resonated with audiences, earning Miley her first US number-one hit “Wrecking Ball.”

Rivaling the success of Bangerz has been the controversy surrounding Miley’s dramatic new image, which borrows heavily from “ratchet” culture in the form of grills, bling, and twerking. Provocative music videos for “Wrecking Ball” (dir. Terry Richardson) and “We Can’t Stop,” along with her infamous performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, raised more than a few eyebrows, and even inspired a series of concerned open letters from Sinead O’Connor. Debate over Miley’s new image, however, has done nothing to hinder her success -- the videos for “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop” shattered Vimeo viewing records, and her VMA performance was the most tweeted about performance in the history of, well, Twitter. Add to that a successful October 5 appearance on Saturday Night Live and you could say Miley’s year has been “pretty cool.”  Fans can catch Miley LIVE in concert on her 2013 Jingle Ball tour – even if you don’t know how to twerk, it’s sure to be an experience to remember.

Miley’s career as an entertainer began in 2003 with several small acting roles, including an appearance opposite her father Billy Ray Cyrus on his hit show Doc. In 2006, she launched to mainstream success with her breakout role in Disney’s Hannah Montana, which spawned several films and albums, including her multi-platinum pop debut Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus.  In 2009, Miley gained exposure to country audiences with crossover hit “The Climb,” featured on the soundtrack for Hannah Montana: The Movie.  Her third studio album, 2010’s Can’t Be Tamed, marked a departure for Miley -- the inclusion of dance elements and a distinctly more suggestive image foreshadowed what would ultimately come to fruition on 2013’s Bangerz, her biggest success to date.

    Summer fest 2021

    by D. Z. on 9/19/21

I literally lived my childhood dream. Miley has gave such great speeches in-between the concert not only to tell us how happy she was yo be back but what each song she wrote has helped her with experiences and I couldn’t love her as much as I do now.

    Miley is ALWAYS Perfect

by TaylorNicoleT on 12/8/15Electric Factory - Philadelphia

The opening act was not very good in my opinion, but as soon as Miley came on the stage, the opening act and all of the shoving people were doing did NOT matter to me ! Since it was general admission I got so close I could see her cute little zit cream! She is the prettiest person in the world and always puts on the most amazing show. She IS my Queen.

One of the best shows I've ever seen

by MysteryMonkey on 12/4/15Terminal 5 - New York

We were fortunate enough to get tickets to this show at the last minute at face value. She has an amazing stage presence, with a voice to match (surprising considering all her cannabis consumption.) She performed for two and a half hours. She did not do any of her famous hit songs, and focused on her latest material. The Flaming Lips as her back-up band was a great addition. Her female dominated audience were in a festive mood, but still very polite, and I also might add that everyone smelled nice, which cannot be said for the audiences of many other shows I've attended. Because this was in a small venue, it was a more up-close and personal show - a feeling you wouldn't get in a large arena or stadium. Lastly, I would not recommend people under the age of 18 to attend her shows, especially in a small venue. If she's performing in an arena or stadium, she may curtail some of her antics - not sure. This was my first time seeing her, and I was quite pleased. The next time she comes to New York, if she is playing in a small club, I will without hesitation go to see her. She is totally worth it!

    *dead*

    by Heavymetallover13 on 12/1/15Terminal 5 - New York

"The piece of glitter one might find in their pubic hair, after a strange trip, is the perfect way to sum up the recent Miley Cyrus concert. You're not quite sure how it ended up there but, man (woman/other/human/alien) did it but a smile on your face." ~ @ParkerStanley13 ‪#‎MileyCyrusAndHerDeadPetz‬

This show was truly once in a lifetime, I wish the venue would do something about the site lines to the stage but the sound was very good.

    Not impressed

by 3BirthdayGirls on 11/24/15The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

She played all slow songs, and none of her best hits! Put everyone to sleep!!! Her show had so many lights and lasers, and smoke that you couldn't even see her on the stage. Unless you were up close on main floor, and not in the balcony, you couldn't even see her! She is so full of herself, that she thinks if she screws up her lines, or doesn't know the words, its ok. She performs as if she is in front of 20 people, instead of 2,000 people paying $90 a ticket!!! Talked about how drunk she was and how high she was! Seriously!!! Her performance sucked! It was very obvious when no one was screaming or clapping after each song!

Awesome show, what a great time!

    by k8isgr84u on 11/20/14Amway Center - Orlando

I had never seen Miley in concert before, but I have been a long time fan. So when I heard she was coming to Orlando over Spring Break I was all for it. My sister and I bought tickets for the first lower level, the section above the floor, off to the side. Tickets were pretty expensive, but she's on top right now so I understand. The opener Icona Pop was entertaining and put on a nice short show and then Miley came out. PROPS to all the designers and others that created the sets and props. Miley looked stunning and really connected to the audience. She put on an awesome show! In regards to everyone who writes about this show being inappropriate, the tour is called "Bangerz" for a reason. Where are you living where you don't know about Miley's tour attire, performance, and actions? Don't bring your 13 year old daughter and friends if you are trying to shelter them. In my opinion, the performance was appropriate for Miley and I'm sure your children are exposed to much worse at school and on the internet.
