Great sound, great set, and a great time with Midnight Oil. They did not disappoint!
The first time I had a chance to watch the Oils, sad to know it is their final tour because I am hoping to see them again perform. They played with such energy, and it translated to the audience. They sounded so good.
Beautiful theater, great logistics and sound quality, and the set was amazing.
Great venue, great sound, best live band in the world. Don’t miss their final tour.
I celebrated 1 yr of surviving cancer by going to the Midnight Oil show at The Fox Theater in Oakland. Besides it’s astounding beauty and wonderful history the staff at The Fox absolutely wonderful! The show was amazing, especially the sound! The Fox is a fantastic venue to HEAR live music! We’ll be back!
For a band on its farewell tour, they brought it on every song. Being the first show on the tour, it took a few songs to truly warm up, but midway through the show Peter and the band were hitting on all cylinders. I drove 3+ hours to get to the show, and it was absolutely worth it!
The boys were full of energy A Freind told best concert ever
We arrived plenty early only to discover plenty of people with no obvious disabilities sitting on our platform for people with wheelchairs. Our ticket's said Section WC, Row WC, Seats 9 and 10 but these seats did not exist. Not a single wheelchair was on the platform. Instead, I sat in my scooter, looking at people's backs, on the ground, on the other side of the mixing board tent, where there was no raised platform. Do better TicketMaster. Do better Stanley Park.
Oils never disappoint, even in the rain! Outstanding set list and audience was connected. If you are a fan, this is their last tour so don’t miss it!
Saw the Oils last night at the Bowl in Melbourne and it was fantastic. Sat in the grass area which was crowded but still good. They sang every major hit they had plus many more and Peter Garrett's vocals were fantastic. Not out of tune at all and no variation to his hits like other live artists do which is annoying. Not bad going for a bunch of men in their 60's !! My only complaint would be their supporting act The Smith street Band which were terrible. They were so loud, the singer could not hold a note and thought it was cool to swear alot either in his songs or when he addressed the audience. I'm no prude , but i am getting sick of going to concerts and having to listen to the artists effing all the time because they think its cool. Completely ruined the atmosphere. Have never heard a band as bad as them . Saw Meatloaf the last time he toured and walked out half way due to his bad singing but this group was worse. If midnight oil was not on next I would not of bothered to stand there and listen to this loud, out of tune rubbish.
Amazing show, high-energy, and definitely worth the money!
Midnight Oil is made up of extremely talented musicians and political commentators! Their musicianship is top notch and their songs / lyrics are powerful and relevant. I was not familiar with them before the concert but I am a fan now! Don't miss them! I hope they return to LA soon!
First visit to HOB Cleveland. I was told by HOB security that my small cheap nikon coolpix camera would be permitted however mid-show lead singer Peter Garrett pointed directly to me and quietly instructed me to put camera away.. it was done in a polite manner but in forty years of attending concerts I've never had anything like that happen. Regardless PG & company brought their "A" game from down under in a mixture of hits peppered in with lesser known tracks from throughout their career. I can't say that I care much for their left-wing political rants against President Trump but no one can question their sincerity and passion for politics and music. Very impressed with their concert performance and hope they release a recording from this tour. Standing room only for everything but a handful of balcony seats - near sellout about 1000 people there @ $57 a ticket..hmm..do the math - am surprised that a band of this caliber isn't playing larger venues as they certainly deserve to. First USA tour in fifteen years - hope it isn't their last.
Amazing show, pure energy and 2 encores! Fans were amazing and mindful. The Living End opened for the Oils and rocked! Happy for Oils to use their celebrity to echo the sentiments of the Majority in the US. Loved all of it!
Midnight Oil still has most of their moves. This was the second time seeing them after seeing them on 30 March 1984 at the Palace in Hollywood. I really would have liked it if they had played Short Memory.
Keep your politics to yourself celebrities.... Shut up and entertain me
One of the best live performances I've ever experienced. The band still rocks with pure energy and gusto after all these years. Amazing!
Wonderful concert, at a terrific venue. Living End, an Australian band who I was not familiar with, blew my socks off. They were a combination of the Stray Cats and Green Day. The lead singer/guitar player was just out of this world!! And the Oils -- what can you say? Passionate, original sound, with the amazing Peter Garrett leading the way. If you have the opportunity to see Midnight Oil live, do not pass it up. It is Now or Never...
Wow! All I have to say is I was blown away by how good Midnight Oil sounded. Peter Garret's voice is as strong as ever and the band are amazing music talents. They sounded incredible. As tight and strong as they did when I saw them in the late 1980's. Track selection was great.
I don't have a lot of bucket-list bands anymore, meaning ones I've not seen already. But when I saw Midnight Oil was playing locally, I jumped on the chance to buy tickets. (This got even better when one of my favorite bands, The Living End, was tapped as an opener.) To say Midnight Oil did not disappoint would be an understatement. In addition to sounding great, the band had a ton of energy. Peter Garrett looked, sounded and (most importantly) danced exactly the same as he did 30 years ago. Great band, great show!
