About

American contemporary Christian musician Michael W. Smith is one of a select number of Christian artists who have managed to achieve crossover success with mainstream audiences. His brand of spiritual adult contemporary pop, along with several instrumental worship and Christmas albums, have made him a favorite among fans seeking to embrace the holiday spirit and celebrate their faith through music. On his 20th studio album, 2011’s Glory, Smith enlisted a 65-piece orchestra to produce his most soaring collection of instrumental spiritual songs yet, landing him at No. 8 on the Christian Albums chart. Smith made his solo debut in 1983 with the Grammy-nominated The Michael W. Smith Project, releasing several more successful albums in the ‘80s before achieving mainstream success with hit single “Place in This World" from 1990's Go West Young Man. He is the recipient of three Grammy awards, including two Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album awards for I’ll Lead You Home (1995) and Worship Again (2002). On tour in 2013, Smith has been wowing fans with his truly collective live concert, inviting ticket buyers to sing along to his impressive array of spiritual and holiday songs.

Wonderful evening of reminiscing and worship

by Paige R on 3/17/24Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

I have always admired Michael W. Smith's music and ministry. Hearing the music from his early years brought back wonderful memories and the more recent music brought a chance to worship with the other attendees. The band was top notch! I enjoyed the theater space as well.

Through my ears to my soul!

by Denis on 3/17/24Baton Rouge River Center Theater - Baton Rouge

He was my first Christin rock band I listen too in the early 90’s. He helped me see the lord through my ears all the way to my soul.

    A casual night of entertainment

by Bobzilla on 3/5/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Michael delighted us with a little bit of everything. He shared some stories of how he got started, played some of his early songs, a little bit from other artists, and a little worship. I would have liked to see him perform a little more praise and worship, like the song 'Forever', especially since that was the name of the tour. I did enjoy the concert, and it was worth my time and money.

    Great

by Sitka on 3/4/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The Michael W Smith concert was awesome! He's my favorite and always enjoy his concerts. This one was different in that it was just Michael and his band. No guests, no back-up singers. He sang his hits from different eras and loved it. Seats and atmosphere good.

    Good

by LA on 3/4/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I thought the concert was good, but I felt he was in a bit of a rush to be done. Also I came to hear him, but half of the concert he had the audience sing. I thought that part was a disappointment. Overall it was good though.

After an hour of the concert a charity was promoted and it felt like we were being pressured. I left afterwards

This guy is very personable, and a great communicator. You can sense he knows what he is talking and singing about. The post-intermission half was truly unforgettable, inspiring.

It was great seeing this icon in Christian music. Was equally as nice hearing some of his classic going back to the late 80’s.

Love praising God with Michael W Smith❣️🙏

by Love praising God on 3/4/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Soooo enjoy praising & worshipping God with Michael W Smith. He’s so genuine. We’ve been going to see him for 20+ years & he never disappoints us. This was my birthday week celebration & my husband & I enjoyed sharing it with him❣️We thank God for him & his love of praising God through his awesome musical talents. My husband also plays the piano & organ. We sooo enjoy how Michael really makes the piano come alive❣️❣️10/10 The venue at Old National at the Murat was beautiful & wonderful too & great acoustics❣️10/10 Sooo much better than Clowes Memorial Hall where we had difficulties seeing & acoustics not the best at a Broadway show last night.

Michael W never disappoints! His songs choice was perfect!

by Fran on 3/4/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The seating in the balcony was the best! Happy we upgraded that night. Ushers & staff were patient & kind. The concert was amazing & uplifting! My only disappointment was the bands microphones were so loud it was hard to hear Michael W sing! Had to strain to hear the words. Good thing I knew the songs!

This concert was a true Christmas blessing! Musically exceptional, Spirit-filled. fun and uplifting! My sweet pastor husband was moved to tears several times. Our first time in the auditorium and its beauty only added to the ambience. Thank you, Michael, for your servant heart!

    Fantastic!!!

by Evelyn on 12/26/23Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

Micheal W Smith had a beautiful variety of traditional and new Christmas songs with wonderful vocals, fantastic music by him and his team, and magnificent creativity that kept me and my 3 companions highly engaged from beginning to end. We absolutely loved the Christmas selections but also loved the patriotic songs and his guest musician Michael Tait. The entire concert was spiritually anointed and so good I will never forget it. I hope to attend other concerts in the future at the Orpheum Theatre for both Michael W Smith and Michael Tait.

by Ross on 12/25/23Fox Cities PAC - Appleton

It was an uplifting energetic performance by Michael w Smith but also Michael Tait. They both sang Christmas carols and the crowd sang along. Appleton is fortunate to have such an excellent facility. The sound and lights were wonderful. Will definitely be back to the PAC.

An amazing evening of joyful, spiritually uplifting music. One could not help but feel the presence of god that took over thruout the evening. You could see the joy and peace that the audience experienced. If only the world could be as the evening was. Peace on earth, good will to all men!
