I’ve been a fan of Michael’s a long time, going back to the Progressive Country years in Austin, TX. He was always entertaining then and he still is! We weren’t quite sure what to expect, but his Christmas show was amazing. When we left, we didn’t have a headache, we could still hear, and we didn’t have to stand up the entire time. What we did have was a great time listening to great cowboy music, awesome storytelling by Michael, an excellent back up band, and a voice that is still a joy to hear after 40+ years. You can tell Michael still loves God, country, performing, and the audience! Thanks for a terrific evening!
Michael Martin Murphey was excellent. The Cox Business Center, I was not impressed. To start with, the seating diagram that I picked out seats by got reversed, I picked seats that would of put me on the inside aisle, my seats wound up on the outside aisle. The restroom for men had a urinal that was closed off so that during intervention created a backup at the restroom, when asked about leaving and using another restroom, we were told that we could not re-enter the area if we left, not only myself but several men were not happy with this. Drink prices were out of the world in prices, I'm sure the host lost money by having a bar set up.
I loved being able to take my Grandson's to a concert that was wholesome and with good music. I hope that he continues his concerts because they are worth attending.
Wished it could have been more of a level seating instead of flat floor seating was hard to see the dancers. Other than that enjoyed the concert very much. The sound was good the entertainment was awesome
Very heartwarming concert. A genuine gentle soul! Never get tired of his performance!! Loved it! Hope he comes back next year!!
Michael Matin Murphy and his band were phenomenal! Carin Mari performed with them and her voice along with yodeling were fantastic. MMM story telling makes you feel part of the cowboy life. We had never seen a Hammer Dulcimer. Wow was Dan good on it. Great solo. By the way MMM is 74. Has a wonderful voice. AND he’s still a very active cowboy! Buying tickets was easy and put in my Wallet app for easy access at venue.
We always enjoy Murphy and this time was no exception. We don't really need the sound turned up so loud though when the acoustics in the Avalon are so good. Over all though, GREAT time.
The concert it's self was good but the level of bass that the sound guy thinks you need for that type of show was unbelievable. It ruined the show for me and I'm sure that others would agree. I truly hope that the guy on the sound board is not the sound guy for the Avalon.
Great except for the stage lights. I was in the mezzanine and the lights were so bright I could not enjoy viewing so I had to close my eyes or hold up something to block the brightness. I they could have dimmed it would have been a better experience.
The last time I saw Micheal Martin Murphy was about 28 years ago at Westfest at Copper Mountain, Colorado. He still sounds amazing and put on a fabulous show. I’m so glad to have had this show come to Grand Junction, Colorado.
The venue was wonderful and personal. The concert was beyond my expectations. It was entertaining and very well done.
Awesome great night out with Michael Martin Murphy Country Christmas Show. He’s all out entertainment and with Carin Mari as back up the band sounds as good as ever. Thanks for a great show.
Absolutely Amazing and almost spiritual! We had 2nd row seats. Every single band member either had a smile on their faces or a satisfied look. I love it when they love what they do.
Michael's music takes me to the mountains and the West with each song and story. One of the best features of his shows is the narration and history behind the music and how it relates to his life.
Michael Martin Murphey is truly an American Treasure. His voice is clear and his guitar work enhances the songs. It was an entertaining show from start to finish.
Intimate setting......one man show. He's still got it after all these years. Very fortunate to have made it out to this concert. A rare treat to see him in the Midwest!
Great seating. Great sound system. Murphey Still singing great at 74. Super all American guy. His love for families and children in need and charity work is unsurpassable.
This concert is now in my Top 5. He was in great voice and still can sing in the original registers and keys of all his Songs. Incredible! His band was tight and include his two sons on Celtic Harp and the other on guitar and Mandolin. Both very accomplished Musicians in their own right. The back and forth with the audience was as if we are all in his living room. and the Band was tight as any I have heard
What a fantastic story teller in song. i thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
