This was the best concert that we have been too for a long time.
This concert was different than any other Michael Martin Murphey concert I've attended. I enjoyed it because he had two sidekicks with great guitar playing abilities and they could really harmonize with Murph. Murph always spends time with his fans after the show and this time was no exception. Even if he never sang a note, his guitar and banjo playing is a concert in itself!
Michael Martin Murphey in concert in this small venue was a great listening experience. Being a cowboy at heart but not really being a country western music fan (although I am converting) he and his band played a type of music that I can relate to. The stories told in song were heartfelt and sincere. Many of the songs reprexented cowboy life and their oftern different way of viewing life. His guitarist, whom I can not remember his name, was the best I have ever heard!
The theater was really awesom, sound great. Michael was one of the best conserts he sang great he took the time to talk to the people and actually sang without music , I have never seen a singer do that before. He was really great. We had six people in our party we all loved it. Thanks calamity
The music was wonderful, but this is San Bernardino and you have to deal with drunks and yahoos. The people behind me couldn't keep quiet. None of what they said was more profound than what a small child would say, and yet they had to talk and constantly yell like cowboys through a wonderful acoustic experience. I actually felt sorry for the performers having to endure such losers.. MMM played more than 2 hours. The musicianship was amazing.
It was AWESOME- WONDERFUL-OUTSTANDING! We definitely need more cowboy singers like Michael to remind us what this country is all about. I love the simplicity and quiet of the smaller venues, just the singers singing and playing guitars. I would love to see Michael perform in Southern CA more often. He is GREAT.
This event, staged in one of California's historic theaters, establishes Michael Martin Murphey as the living king of the cowboys. We enjoyed an evening of music and dialogue that made the time pass way too quickly. Only sour note - the opening performers. WHAT WAS THAT!
