The Toronto-based Metric, who've won a large audience playing the club circuit in both Canada and the U.S., released their first album, Old World Underground, Where Are You Now?, to much acclaim from fans and critics in 2003. Backed by guitar, chirping synths and other pop-friendly instruments, singer Emily Haines provides vocals that range from soft and breathy to bold and fierce. The album's subject matter is also diverse, featuring songs about social standing ("The List"), difficult political issues ("Succexy") and other wide-ranging topics. 2005's Live It Out, the group's second album, offers further proof of Metric's impressive versatility and knack for crafting catchy pop-rock gems. Over the course of their career, Metric have brought countless venues to capacity, like Observatory (North Park) and The Fillmore (Philadelphia).

I am so... happy I was able to see Metic live on their Doomscroller tour. Ever since I've first heard them over 20 years ago. They have been my go-to soul soother. I bought my tickets during the summer, in between that time I died and was resuscitated 3 times. First social outing after recovering, Metric! My Doomscroller tour tickets were the best survivors gift, I could never have planned for. Thank you Emily Haines, James Shaw, Joshua Winstead and Joules Scott-Key for continuing to lift my soul and soothe my spirit. Cannot wait for the next tour!
I had never seen Metric, been trying to for a decade or so, had the chance this tour & took it. Very good live sound, energenic, & a great crowd, particularly for a Monday. Happy I did it...
Other than the music drowning out the singer at times, metric was awesome. The venue is nice. The lights from behind the performers were blinding! Sitting in the balcony, we could not see the faces of the performers because of the bright lights.
The actual sound was fine, however it was hard to hear the lovely voice of Emily Haines at times. Perhaps acoustics are needed? The interior of the venue, was okay and probably undistinguishable from any other "Fillmore." Ron Bension, president of Live Nation’s clubs and theaters division, said it best in 2019 “It’s not just a black box with people in it,” -while making a dig a First Avenue. I mean, the Fillmore Mpls is so much less than that. With Live Nation building a circuit of Fillmore venues, bands like Metric will find it harder to turn down the pressure that you exert in also owning the ticketing system and the risk you put on musicians for the sake of profits. I also think your charge of a pint of beer ($13.50+tax) is ridiculous.
Metric was incredible! The Filmore was cool too ( needs smoking area)
First time at Metric concert. Really liked Secret Machines and they ended on one of my favorites. Metric was energetic and the chemistry between the band members was great. She sang with her heart and soul and it made for a memorable time with my daughter.
Emily has a wonderful voice and great stage presence. Awesome set-list. Thanks!
I've had three previous opportunities to see Metric, and sadly, I passed. What an incredible mistake. I will never miss another Metric tour. Fantastic show.
The first thing I was struck by at the venue was how loud it was. I immediately found some ear plugs and put them in. It was still quite loud with earplugs in. I kept them in for the duration of the show with the exception of the one or two songs metric did acoustically. Otherwise when I took them out the actual music seemed drowned out by the pure volume of everything. I could hear the singer's voice, the lyrics, and the different instruments much clearer through my earplugs then when I took them out.
I’ve been to quite a few concerts but this was by far the best! Beyond just the sheer amazing band, the energy of the room at the Fillmore is amazing and the the lights/acoustics are great! Even with no AC it doesn’t get too too hot so you can still enjoy the concert in GA without overheating. Highly recommend!
Emily Haines is still an absolute god. She sounds the exact same as the record and gives off so much energy. The Fillmore is an awful venue and always has been.
So glad to see my fav band again after several years!
Metric was amazing!!!! The concert was so much fun. I have been a longtime fan, and the concert did not disappoint I'm a bigger fan now. Emily brought a ton of energy and the crowd feed off that big time, ever one was dancing and having a great time. Well walking ever one was saying how awesome it was. Thanks, Metric for a fun night.
I have always adored metric and seeing them live this time was no diffrent. Their serlist was amazing and there is not a single thing i would've wanted to be different
They were so great to see live. Emily Haines has an incredible voice. The Depot was a perfect venue for them.
They played most of my favorite songs. They have a unique ability to connect with their audience. They sound as good live as they do on their albums. Can’t wait to see them live again!
This review is solely about The Depot. Metric absolutely killed it. I remember the old days of the depot. Such a gem. Plenty of room, you could hang out on the balcony or in the pit. Never felt like they nickel and dimed you. Ever since it was bought it acquired by live nation it’s become one of my least favorite venues. $80 to sit on a bar stool on top of the $50 for GA? I can’t even fathom how much the balcony seats are now. The upstairs bar was so crowded you couldn’t see a damn thing. What happened, Depot? You used to be so great. Stop with all the money grabbing and focus on making the overall experience better. I gave 2 stars because as awful as it is now, you’re still not as bad as USANA
Great show but the moore is terrible for a concert venue especially if you actually wanna get down. They over police the venue - for real why are there so many cops ? Stg needs to drop the contract with the Seattle police department . The balcony also covers the screen so if your not in the vip area on the floor u can’t see the whole stage . Also Thomas Douglas as a vendor is overrated and overpriced .
The seats were amazing, venue was very unique. The staffs of the venue was courteous and welcoming! Been to so many Metric concert and Metric sounded great live, and all the songs still stuck in my head
