Metallica was formed by drummer Lars Ulrich and singer/guitarist James Hetfield in Los Angeles in 1981; since then, their astonishing career milestones include winning eight Grammys and selling over 125 million albums worldwide, including the critically-acclaimed Master of Puppets (1986), often cited as one of the most important metal albums in history. They are also one of the most popular and commercially successful touring acts in history — according to Pollstar, as of 2019 Metallica had sold over 22 million tickets and grossed $1.4 billion in touring since 1982. Metallica’s fifth studio album, Metallica (1991), famously known as The Black Album, has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and features some of the band’s biggest hits: “Nothing Else Matters,” “The Unforgiven” and “Enter Sandman.” On six consecutive genre-defining studio albums (from 1991’s Metallica through 2016’s Hardwired… to Self-Destruct), Metallica has consistently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In support of their 2023 album 72 Seasons, Metallica’s M72 World Tour will see the band playing two nights in every city they visit throughout 2023-24.

The greatest live band came to Detroit and destroyed
I didn't realize I was paying $900 for 3rd row tickets only to be blocked by a massive pillar. I understand that you have to provide video screens for the upper deck but it should not be at the expense of your fans who pay really good money for seats down low. A good portion of the stage was blocked out by the pillar so I couldn't even see the entire show. I already have tickets to see them at Soldier Field in Chicago. My suggestion is that they do not put up the pillars again. There will be a lot of pissed off fans. I am currenlty one of them and feel like I've been duped into paying for expensive tickets only to be disregarded by the band and the venue. Extremely disappointed.
My first Metallica show after worshipping them for over a decade, nosebleeds and average sound quality. Still pretty breathtaking!
Amazing concert. Metallica had a great live show. Only bad thing was parking nearby. But concert itself was amazing. Metallica played for about 2 hours and sounded great.
Sound quality was amazing, set list was amazing, stage set up was amazing. The energy was high and lots of interactions with the crowd made it a great concert. Metallica continue to impress, hope they tour more in the future.
Best concert ever! Metallica was out of this world!! I had so much fun, got awesome floor tickets up close and the sound system rocked!
I can't wait to see them again let me know when they get to town metallic put on a great concert it was a long drive but the concert was worth the drive
The guys still sound great but the setlist for Detroit day 2 (11/12) Was honestly really disappointing the majority of the songs played were deep tracks which is cool and all but it was strange that they didn't play so many of their classics like "sad but true" "harvester of sorrow" "nothing else matters" "master of puppets" and many more they really only played a few hits the rest were rarities the guys are awesome musicians but I really hoped for better
Metallica was awesome as usual. They still know how to rock! Love that they each personally said thank you to everyone for coming atvthe end of the show.
This was my 11th time seeing Metallica. This band has never disappointed me. I just wish I went to both nights. More than 2 hours would be nice. Js
Mammoth, Pantera, & Metallica all put on an amazing show. Ford Field had amazing acoustics and I would definitely go there again for a concert. I highly recommend seeing Metallica if you ever get the chance.
Tickets were easy to purchase. No problem with the Ticketmaster, I was hoping they told us before they were going to place the bar where we got our kids age 9 and 14 thinking this will be a great view for them but unfortunately it wasn’t.
Overall, Metallica played really well. Friday show was extremely disappointing, due to song selection, and duration of show. I was expecting better. They are too good of a band as far as I’m concerned to only play 16 songs.
Amazing show all around from opening acts to close. 2 day show was an experience I'll never forget
These guys were awesome! It rocked so hard and I was shaking inside still the next morning . Amazing!
Metallica knows how to put on a show ! It was absolutely amazing !!! When’s the next tour start 😁😁
Best experience ever. I hope everyone can have the chance to see them
My brother and friends have seen Metallica many, many times. This was my first time. I've been to over a hundred concerts, and I've never seen anything like this. Totally blown away! Highly recommended!
Metallica totally destroyed Ford Field! The concert was nothing short of LEGENDARY!
We had a great time at the show. Lines were manageable, place was clean. Would definitely go again to a game or other event.
