About

MercyMe has been releasing hits in the Christian rock genre since 2001, when "I Can Only Imagine" caught the attention of the public and became the most requested song on a mainstream station in Texas. Despite the band's success on conventional radio stations, the majority of ticket buyers expect MercyMe's concert tours to be religion oriented, and they are not disappointed. Fans who attended the Rock & Worship Roadshow in 2013 described the tour as uplifting and filled with spiritual hits that included "Word of God Speak,” “All of Creation” and "You Don’t Care At All." The latter song is from the 2012 album The Hurt & the Healer, which reached No. 1 on the Christian Albums Billboard chart.

Millard formed MercyMe with Jim Bryson and Mike Scheuchzer in Oklahoma, and after releasing independently, MercyMe signed with INO Records in 2001. Their first album earned the 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA after "I Can Only Imagine" won two Dove Awards. On 2002's Spoken For, which peaked at No. 2 on the Christian Albums chart, the title track was the most successful. 2004's Undone brought with it hits like "Here with Me," "Homesick" and "In the Blink of an Eye." 2006's Coming Up to Breathe was nominated for a Grammy, due to hit singles like "Bring the Rain," "So Long Self" and "Hold Fast." All That Is Within Me was released in 2007, with "God With Us" reaching No. 1 on the Christian Songs Billboard chart. 2010 saw the release of The Generous Mr. Lovewell, while 2012's The Hurt & The Healer featured "You Are I Am" and the title track as the most popular songs. MercyMe has plans to continue its tour for The Hurt & the Healer album in 2014.

The MercyMe concert was very uplifting

by ToddnMary on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

The concert began with an old Beatles tune and a couple more old rock n roll tunes. The crowd must have wondered what was going on as we were expecting to hear a mixture of MercyMe's favorites and a few newer songs. The words to the old rock n roll tunes came naturally to most of us in the crowd as did the lyrics to their popular tunes. For me the lesson was if we fill up our minds with biblical scripture and biblical based music, the result will be biblical based words coming out of us, to the benefit of all those around us.

MercyMe really do a great job of balancing worship and entertainment. During their show you will feel closer to God than you were before. But it is not about a stuffy church service. They are great at showing that Christians can have fun! They are truly a blessing!

Mercy Me & Jeremy Camp - it doesn't get any better

by Witschywmn on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

The concert we attended included Joel Hansen, Jeremy Camp and MercyMe. All three groups were great. The percussion part of the sound system was messed up for Joel Hansen making it really hard to hear his vocals but what we did hear was good. By the time Jeremy Camp came on the sound had been tweaked and then the music just kept getting better and better. We had never seen him in concert - he was awesome. This was our second time seeing MercyMe. We loved their concert last year and this one was even better. They started with an unconventional "There's Gonna be a Revolution" which took on a completely new meaning when they sang it. They mixed their new music in with their better known songs and even a little Tom Petty! Their visual effects were great, too. Theses guys had a crowd of all ages and backgrounds singing and worshipping God right along with them - we're Christians but you don't have to be a Christian to enjoy their musical talent and showmanship. I cannot wait until they come back. This was a fabulous concert.

    MercyMe & Jeremy Camp

by ClosetChristian on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

This was the second time I've seen both MercyMe and Jeremy Camp. I thought both of them were amazing the first time I saw them and thought there was no way they could be better a second time; I'm happy to admit that I was wrong. If you're a Christian music fan, both of these artists are must see's!!! Well worth the money and I'd go see them both again (together or seperate) in a heartbeat!!!

    mercy me

by Iwastoopatient on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

The opening band used so much base & drums that my whole body vibrated. If there was a Christian message, I couldn't understand it as the music over powered everthing and it just became noise. This group lasted too long, then Jeremy Camp came on and it got better and we could at least hear a Christian message. The main group didn't come on til 9:30 and it started at 7:30...... Very disappointing; two hours waisted. One of our party couldn't take the noise at the beginning and left the Grandstand area to wait for us. He commented that a lot of people left after 10PM, but before it was over. We were all disappointed that we didn't get more of the Mercyme group and wanted to hear 'I can only imagine'.

    MercyMe was great

by shortie19 on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

I went to see MercyMe along with Jeremy Camp and Joel Hanson. Joel started it all off and was very fun to see a Minnesota boy start it off. Than on to Worship with Jeremy Camp. What a time of worship. MercyMe continued where Jeremy left off. All the show was good rocking music to listen and enjoy. Both my wife and I would go again.

Mercy me was as good as usual. Played big hits and new tunes. Tending to turn more into Christian Pop than anything. Very catchy tunes, excellent musicians.

It was Awesome and Uplifting! I would go see them again. My husband went with me and he recognized a lot of the songs, and came home to find "Finally home" on the internet. (He only hears KTIS when in the care with me.) When I asked my husband what he would say about the concert, he stated "I enjoyed Mercy Me"

    Rockin' Worship at Its Finest

by 4himCAMPer on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

I heard part of Jeremy Camp's sound check which included some new songs off We Cry Out. I was blown away and trying to patiently wait the remaining 4 hours before the show. I had met Jeremy a little earlier in the day after an interview/performance he did w/ a local station. I knew the concert would not disappoint. Joel Hanson formerly of PFR opened the show and rocked it. I had heard him earlier in the summer and was not disappointed. It's great seeing local Christian artists rocking the Grandstand. Jeremy Camp was next and I was locked into worshiping the Most High God through Jeremy's music and heart for worship being about God not himself. He has such energy and excitement when he leads worship. It's contagious. After his set, MercyMe came on. This was my first time seeing them live. They were phenomenal. Bart Millard is hilarious. They continued the great night of worship. They had a good mix of new and classic songs. They ended the night with I Can Only Imagine and the slide show of pics from fans with loved ones that have since gone home. That was a powerful moment. I don't have MercyMe's setlist but I got Jeremy Camp's list thanks to his tour manager Lucas.

    Awesome First MercyMe Concert

by Frontline on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

I've listened to a lot of MercyMe. This was my first in-person concert. I loved it! The music is great, but it's the way they relate to the audience. Bart is the guy next door, and he's an excellent example of real Christianity. Thank you!

    Jeremy Camp rocked!

by BeStill on 9/4/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

I would like to have heard more songs from MercyMe but did enjoy Jeremy Camp more then I thought I would have, so all around, it was a good concert. Had trouble with the bass being way too loud for the first act, but glad that they lowered it down so my heart wasn't beating out of my chest!
