About

MercyMe has been releasing hits in the Christian rock genre since 2001, when "I Can Only Imagine" caught the attention of the public and became the most requested song on a mainstream station in Texas. Despite the band's success on conventional radio stations, the majority of ticket buyers expect MercyMe's concert tours to be religion oriented, and they are not disappointed. Fans who attended the Rock & Worship Roadshow in 2013 described the tour as uplifting and filled with spiritual hits that included "Word of God Speak,” “All of Creation” and "You Don’t Care At All." The latter song is from the 2012 album The Hurt & the Healer, which reached No. 1 on the Christian Albums Billboard chart.

Millard formed MercyMe with Jim Bryson and Mike Scheuchzer in Oklahoma, and after releasing independently, MercyMe signed with INO Records in 2001. Their first album earned the 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA after "I Can Only Imagine" won two Dove Awards. On 2002's Spoken For, which peaked at No. 2 on the Christian Albums chart, the title track was the most successful. 2004's Undone brought with it hits like "Here with Me," "Homesick" and "In the Blink of an Eye." 2006's Coming Up to Breathe was nominated for a Grammy, due to hit singles like "Bring the Rain," "So Long Self" and "Hold Fast." All That Is Within Me was released in 2007, with "God With Us" reaching No. 1 on the Christian Songs Billboard chart. 2010 saw the release of The Generous Mr. Lovewell, while 2012's The Hurt & The Healer featured "You Are I Am" and the title track as the most popular songs. MercyMe has plans to continue its tour for The Hurt & the Healer album in 2014.

    Loud enough for you?

by Earplugsrequired on 9/25/10The Puyallup Fair and Events Center - Puyallup

I love Mercyme's music, I love their message. What I wasn't expecting was the extreme, over-the-top volume of their concert. I mean "brain vibrating, ear bleedingly loud". Jeremy Camp's band played first, and that was loud enough. But then Mercyme came out and felt the need to crank it even louder. This was completely unecessary, anything they had to say about the Lord was lost, the beauty of the lyrics and want-to feel to sing along was lost in the distortion of noise. Far, far too loud. Our clothes were vibrating, at times our hearts were struggling to keep a regular beat, and the morning after found our ears still ringing throughout most of the day.

by westplatte on 9/25/10The Puyallup Fair and Events Center - Puyallup

This was an awsome concert. Nothing like three hours of praise and worship to finish off a week.

    love the Puyallup

by loveliveconcerts on 9/25/10The Puyallup Fair and Events Center - Puyallup

Great concert! First time to see Jeremy Camp. He has an amazing voice. Would have loved to have heard his lyrics better - the instruments really drowned out his voice. But still enjoyed him. MercyMe never disappoint. LOVE their music. We appreciated the mission work discussion and Delilah's talk as well. Truly one of the very best Christian groups to come along in a long time is MercyMe.

    great but different than expected

by BigFanofWorship on 9/25/10The Puyallup Fair and Events Center - Puyallup

Jeremy Camp impressed. Great voice . Compelling story . Songs started to sound the same. MercyMe's new sound seems like they are going for a blues traveler, matchbox 20 kind of thing. Four band members with mic's at front of stage at many times doing four part harmonies. Sounded like Journey meets Alabama. I prefer their classic sound with a lead vocalist and more traditional worship music. Kind of disappointed but can still appreciate the music and talent, just not why I bought the tickets.

    Mercy Me delivered!

by mrkeys on 9/8/10Minnesota State Fair Grandstand - St Paul

What a great evening in the Minnesota cold. Rain threatened at this outdoor event but only cool temps arrived. Opener Joel Hanson was amazing. Sorry he was only on for 30 minutes. We wanted much more! Jeremy Camp shared his usual outstanding message and music. I was not a big Mercy Me fan until seeing them live. The production quality of their show really enhanced their excellent set. I will see them again. Again, we want more Joel Hanson!

Mercy Me is an amazing Christian group. I am always so inspired when I hear them in concert. Bart gives a great message. Even my teenage daughter, who did not want to go, said, "thanks mom, they were awesome!"

I really enjoyed the show. I especially liked the positve message the band brought. There's not enough of that these days. I was really pleased with the Christian message and hope it was a witness to any who don't believe.
