    Sound quality impeded enjoyment

by Remodo on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

I was looking forward to this concert, but if I knew then what I know now, I would have save myself the money and aggravation. The quality of the sound diminished as the concert progress. By the third performer, it was horrible. Last time I would support this venue.

    Memorial Day Concert

by VDesigns on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

I had never been to a concert at Reliant Center. No big screens so you can see the faces; not good.

Excellent concert , the only downer was when J.O.E. walked off the stage because of a mic problem

    Started Out Great but Then....

by Callieme on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

After 7 and EnVogue came with a lot of energy, Joe walked off the stage because his mic was acting up. Heads of State was okay. The arena had some serious sound issues.

    Not Happy with Venue

by UnhappyinHtown on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

The artists were great. The sound quality was horrendous. Absolutely atrocious. They increased the volume of the music, but not the artist's mics. This is my second concert at the Reliant Arena where this occurred. Whatever sound people they used, they need to be replaced forever. Didn't they do a sound check????? I won't be going back. My ears are still ringing, 2 days later.

    Great Show!

by quecutie on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

Overall, the show was extremely entertaining from the very first moment. After 7 aimed to please the ladies, and En Vogue's harmonies were extermely tight. Even though the first two opening acts were singing to soundtracks, they did a great job. Joe had a great band and really put on a great show, but due to sound issues it was hard to hear him at times. Towards the end of his set, his frustration with the sound company showed a little bit -but all in all, he was the consummate professional. Heads of State? Three words: WORTH EVERY PENNY!

    The MOST RATCHET concert...EVER!!

by EMBARRASSING on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

The performers, bless their hearts, really tried their best but the sound system was horrible!! Some of the people near me were beyond lewd in their behavior and it just wasn't a fun time for me and my friends/family. Several of the artists were onstage and complained about the sound. I love JOE but I was embarrassed and stunned when he stopped singing, put the mic down, and left the stage because of the poor sound quality. I will never return to the Reliant Arena again for another show.

    New Edition was disappointing!!!

    by primetime5 on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

When I first purch my tix, it was promoted as New Edition, i don't listen to radio much and didnt know it was switched. The songs were 'hits' the 3 had as solo artists. The sound system was too loud and therefore muffled and the mics screeched, even causing one of the artist to end his performance.

I enjoyed the show!! I received a rose from after 7. EN Vogue brought it with their great voices and performance.Joe with all his finest really sounded great! But Bobby Brown shut it down, just being a great performer, singer, and artist. Johnny Gill and Ralph sounded just as smooth as they did from the first time we heard their voices.I ENJOYED THE SHOw!! They were all awesome!! They all still look and sound the same!!

    Horrible Sound Ruined my Experience!!

by abrox on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

The sound was horrible at this concert!! The speakers were TOO loud ( I was seated on the floor directly in front of the left speaker hanging from ceiling), the band was turned up too loud where they competed with the artists and oftentimes you couldn't even hear the artist. The mics kept going out for each act, where one artist (Joe) didn't even start/finish his last song before he just walked off the stage! When Johnny, Bobby, and Ralph came out, I was excited but because the sound was even worse at this point I couldn't even enjoy the show! I came in town from Florida for the concert as this ende up being a waste of money! Also the venue itself was like a high school gymnasium! They left the lights on the entire time an the users has NO CLUE where the seats were located. We had seats 1-5 and somehow ended up in the middle of the row?! DJ was horrible and even addresses that the crowd was complaining about the sound. I literally got out of my seat mid concert and went to the sound booth to complain. Clearly nothing happened. Bad BAD experience! I want my money back!

    Unfortunate SOUND Issues

by HoustonDisappoinment on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

The performers were great however the sound was HORRIBLE!! To the point that Joe was going to perform one last song and just walked off stage two lines into the song because his microphone wasn't working!!

    Sound was Horrible!!!

by RevCJ on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

While I truly appreciated the efforts by After 7, EnVogue and Joe, the sound quality was horrible!! Joe even cut his performance short because the sound technicians couldn't get his mic working properly. Now as for The Heads of State, I really couldn't tell you if they were any good or not simply because the sound was entirely too loud!! Ralph sounded as if he still had it, Johnny sounded as if he still had it, but Bobby, well???? Overall, I feel as though I wasted my money and I would not recommend this concert to anyone... Buy the albums, you will get a better show and save your time...

    Team EnVogue

    by mackmack595 on 5/28/13Reliant Arena - Houston

The concert had its ups and downs. We really couldn't hear Joe. The band was too loud, especially the saxophone player. The crowd was lost during and after Joe's performance. Heads of State got the crowd back.
