MAYNARD JAMES KEENAN IN CONCERT:
Progressive metal icon Maynard James Keenan has long been recognized for his role as frontman of legendary rock band Tool, but lately it's his solo show that has been bringing fans out in droves. The Grammy Award-winning multi-talent is revered for his intense showmanship and onstage antics, and whether he's performing solo or with Tool, he never fails to deliver heart-pounding performances. From classic Tool hits like "Schism" to more recent cuts from his solo side project Puscifer, MJK will cover plenty of ground on his upcoming tour, treating fans to adrenalin-filled sets they won't soon forget.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Ohio to a Southern Baptist family, Maynard James Keenan joined the US Army in the early '80s, taking on a rigorous West Point curriculum that included advanced level math, English, glee club, and a featured role on the wrestling team. Shortly after completing the terms of his enlistment, he moved to Los Angeles and began playing music with various groups. In 1990 MJK formed Tool with guitarist Adam Jones, beginning an impressive run that would include several chart-topping albums, a slew of hit singles, and three Grammys. In 1999, he founded the rock supergroup A Perfect Circle, continuing his chart success with another string of massively successive albums and singles. With the release of two albums in the '00s under the moniker Puscifer, Maynard James Keenan proved his capabilities as a solo performer, paving the way for continued touring.

A very special evening was had at Cinquanata with MJK playing in all his various bands of many forms, from APC to Puscifer, to Tool to Green Jello!!! What a great time was had!!
The best show I have been to! Every song sounded amazing, loved how the bands never stopped playing (cept for maynard's grampa break) Great guest apperences, and just an overall A M A Z I N G experience i will never forget!
The show was awesome, having 3/4 of Tool come out and Green Jelly and other guests was terrific. The non-stop/no-breaks was great too. The venue sucks however. Parking was ultra pricey, drinks were crazy expensive even by concert/stadium levels.
Honestly, one of the best shows I've ever been to. The sound quality was amazing, the variety of acts was incredible. As a surprise, they brought out Green Jello and sang 3 Little Pigs. The crowd went nuts!!! They had the costumes and everything, it was insane. And if that wasn't enough, they brought out the guys from Tool and did Sober. We lost it!!! If you missed it, I'm so sorry. This was a once in a lifetime event and I will never forget it. Happy Birthday Maynard! And thank you for an awesome show!!!!
I've come to expect quite a bit from shows that musical master Maynard James Keenan puts on. His vocals were spot on as well as Carina's and Billy's. The show was full of surprises especially when Danny Carey showed up to play a few songs for the event. Over all it was one of the best shows I've seen and I can't wait to see what's next for Maynard and his many projects.
Blown Away as always. Loved the way each band would play a couple songs then go right into the next band with a couple of songs etc., All night it went like that and it made me not want to leave my seat! Maynard as always was off the charts amazing!!!! Love it!
I have seen a lot of concerts over the years but cinquanta at the Greek was the best. MJK celebrated his birthday and performed with apc and puscifer . The bands stayed on stage all night and played interchangeably between each other. There were no set changes!! Awesome job Maynard. I also look forward to returning to the Greek as the venue is amazing in an outdoor woodsy like venue.
The quality of the artists and the sound was insane. The show kept you on your feet rocking out.
One of the best shows I've ever been too. Worth traveling for.
Each band played about 3 songs and they constantly rotated acts throughout the night while members who weren't playing hung out on stage at little tables and drank Maynard's wine. The show ended with a special appearance by Green Jelly and Tool.
Epic, show of a lifetime! A birthday party that will go down in history.
The venue was absolutely amazing! Can't wait to go back out.
