I had been looking forward to seeing Mayer again since he opened for Bruno Mars awhile ago. He did not disappoint. I really enjoy his music and they did a great job performing it live. We even enjoyed the music they played prior to the show – mostly Motown stuff that was fun to sing and dance to. I would recommend his show and would gladly go again. I hope next time it’s in a larger venue…with seats!
This was our first time to see Mayer Hawthorne and our first time to the Variety Playhouse. great show and great venue. Opening act was a little shady though.
The show was amazing! The band was awesome and Mayer Hawthorne is a good performer and knows how to get the crowd going.
Amazing show by a very fun band. They did a bunch of stuff from the second album, but played the great stuff from their first, as well. I will definitely be snatching up tickets next time they're in town.
Fantastic show. Pitch perfect vocals. Band is tight and energetic. One of the best shows I've seen in a long time.

Love, enthusiasm and fun. That's what Mayer Hawthorne brings to the table. The freshest sounding artist I've heard in a long time. Modern-day soul meets Motown meets hip-hop meets hipster glasses. My boyfriend and I were enthralled. He loves his audience like he loves his henny & ginger ale. What a fun show. F-U-N. I'd see him again and again and again and... Dear Mayer, will you play at my wedding?

Great neo-soul show. Probably a quarter of the crowd old enough to know the influences first-hand (we were all singing along with Al Green during the exit music) and a good number on the floor too young to enjoy the Henny and Ginger Ale being served in the encore.
The show was great from start to finish. The crowd was totally engaged; there wasn't the usual distraction of side conversations. M.H. has a great voice and a fun personality. He did a "meet and greet" after the show. His show is not to be missed!
It's what's missing with new artists - the ability to actually put on a show. The band dressed the same, synchronized movements; all the standbys of true entertainers, rather than just someone on stage playing songs from their album. Hopefully the next one is at House Of Blues, or a bigger venue with better sight lines (my only complaint), but if you like a good time and have the chance, definitely get out and see Mayer Hawthorne.

Absolutely incredible. I can't rave enough about this show. The set list was awesome, the on stage presence was energetic, the crowd was totally feeling it. Certainly didn't hurt to be watching from front and center either. Oh yea, Mayer had a bobble head, of himself. #swag
Great show...the opening act was hard to really hear at this range but they made a good effort. As for Mayer, once again great to see the hits plus some new ones. Got myself a Henny and Ginger Ale from him too. So much awesome in it.
One of the best SHOWs i've been to. On MH's albums his vocals standout, but live the music dominated. His musicians are talented, and the synchronized movements were cool. drummer unbelievable. Unlike some shows the group got better the longer they played. What a blast!

Mayer Hawthorne's show was a blast. Loved the song selection, loved his voice, loved him (he is so smooooth, and cute!) His band was fantastic and really tight. The room was full of great energy and people enjoying themselves, onstage and in the audience. Really glad I went (even though it was late for a Monday night.)
Buddy Holly meets the Temptations with a modern slant. Great music. Great show. Great performers! Love the choreography and the hip hop style of sampling their hits with covers and audience interaction.
In a word, amazing!!!! I don't know how had more fun at the show, Mayer Hawthorne or the audience.
