About

With 2013’s Monster in the Closet, pop punkers Mayday Parade scored their first Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 and earned praise for what critics called their most emotionally accessible release to date. Drawing comparisons to Queen for its intricate vocal harmonies and guitar work, Monsters deals with life’s big diary-worthy questions on anthemic singles “Ghosts” and “Girls,” while exploring new territory on the country-influenced “Angels” and piano ballad “Even Robots Need Blankets.” Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, the band recorded their 2007 debut before they’d even selected a band name. After settling on Mayday Parade, they went on to release Anywhere But Here in 2009 and a self-titled third album in 2011. The band earned rave reviews for their live concerts on the 2013 Glamour Kills Tour, impressing ticket buyers with their flawless precision and their generous sets featuring both old and new songs.

Mayday Parade Rocked Off Every Face In The Venue!!

    by MBarnes180 on 5/29/10Chameleon Club - Lancaster

Sparks The Rescue and Sing It Loud were pretty dope, but A Rocket To The Moon was disappointing... The new album is uber lame. MAYDAY PARADE WAS INCRED!!!!! I'd like to see them with A Day To Remember!

    Unforgettable.

by NatalielovesMP on 5/15/10Webster - Hartford

I saw the We The Kings's Take Action Tour with Mayday Parade, A Rocket To The Moon, There For Tommorow, and Call The Cops and it was fantastic. All the bands have amazing songs and fantastic energy. Mayday Parade was exceptional. Their energy and love for the music is inspirational. Derek Sanders is a great singer and the whole band is fun to watch. All I wanted to do once the show was done was go again so I would recommend their shows to anyone.

Mayday Parade was a GREAT SHOW.

    by Lizzie1984 on 4/25/10Mojos - Columbia

Mayday Parade was great. Tons of energy. 2 of the opening bands were very entertaining. One of them from Kansas City not so much. No talent and their microphone never worked. But it DID NOT spoil the rest of the show.

    MAYDAY PARADE!

by MCCCCAAAAAACAN on 12/14/09Chameleon Club - Lancaster

Mayday Parade was unforgettable here. I really hope they come back to the Chameleon Club, possibly with We The Kings, oh gosh that would be the best thing ever.

    AMAZING

by tostitotft on 12/11/09Bottleneck - Lawrence

So even though Mayday Parade was the only scheduled band that was able to make it, it still was amazing. Everyone sounded great. They chose a great set list. All of my favorites. It seemed like Derek was a little sick, but it didn't affect his performance at all to me. The stage was pretty small but no one up there seemed to be affected by it. The venue was great! I'd love to see more bands like this come through there. I was really disappointed that There For Tomorrow didn't make it, but i'm still glad I went. Can't wait to see them again :D

Wouldn't Wanna Be 'Anywhere But Here'

by sophieattaque on 12/11/09Bottleneck - Lawrence

Overall, the show was the best I've seen in over a year. The Bottleneck is excellent; every show is intimate. And Mayday Parade delivered. Any Mayday fan should make an effort to see one of their performances; they won't disappoint.

    It was incredible.

by ohhaidanielle on 12/11/09Chameleon Club - Lancaster

I have to say that was the best show I ever went to. All the bands were great and I had a really great time. Also the fact that I was up close to the stage made it a lot better (:

    THE BEST SHOW EVER!

by Jreker on 12/11/09Bottleneck - Lawrence

Everything was AMAZING about this show! They are my favorite band so I love them regardless but the venue was great because of how small and great it sounded. I loved that it was a good hang out spot afterward too...MAYDAY needs to come to this area more often! I would be at EVERY SHOW!!!!!

    Heck of a show!

by MaydayFan on 12/11/09Bottleneck - Lawrence

Although the other small bands opening for Mayday were unable to show b/c of weather issues, another band (The American Dream) filled in and rocked it out for a few songs. Mayday was off the hook, props to the singer for fighting through losing his voice.

This was def 1 of my FAVE shows from beginning to end! City Lights, The Dangerous Summer, There For Tomorrow, and Mayday Parade were all soooooo awesome!! All the vocals were amazing and Derek from Mayday Parade sang a few acoustics!! I even got his autograph and spoke with him a little after the show! I can't say enough about Mayday Parade's entire performance they def get the crowd into it and give you something to remember!

by Shortyyy on 12/3/09Chameleon Club - Lancaster

It was a great show! Always good seeing my friends in There For Tomorrow! It's been more than 2 years since the last time I saw Mayday Parade! They absolutely killed it!

    Absolutely AMAZING

by Mukdek on 12/3/09Chameleon Club - Lancaster

This concert was so phenomenal, the venue was nice and small so we were only a few feet from the stage. There for Tomorrow and Dangerous Summer were both awesome, but Mayday Parade far surpassed even them. I would absolutely recommend this event to anyone!
