About

With 2013’s Monster in the Closet, pop punkers Mayday Parade scored their first Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 and earned praise for what critics called their most emotionally accessible release to date. Drawing comparisons to Queen for its intricate vocal harmonies and guitar work, Monsters deals with life’s big diary-worthy questions on anthemic singles “Ghosts” and “Girls,” while exploring new territory on the country-influenced “Angels” and piano ballad “Even Robots Need Blankets.” Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, the band recorded their 2007 debut before they’d even selected a band name. After settling on Mayday Parade, they went on to release Anywhere But Here in 2009 and a self-titled third album in 2011. The band earned rave reviews for their live concerts on the 2013 Glamour Kills Tour, impressing ticket buyers with their flawless precision and their generous sets featuring both old and new songs.

Excellent concert. The Academy Is... and Mayday Parade were awesome! Station 4 is a small venue though and run down.

    AP Tour kicks butt

    by MusicFreak4 on 10/3/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

The venue isnt the nicest in the world. but im not there for the place im there for the music. i love the ap tour this is my second time. its just so much fun. I love that they always have a band signing. And I got to meet one of my all time music heroes at the signing. And my other favorite thing is that the bands hang out by their merch booth so you can meet them and get a picture. Ive met the Secret handshake and A Rocket to the moon at the ap tours ive been to. And also an awsome thing was that alot of the local bands came to the show. Take Cover, Sing It Loud, and Quietdrive, which was awsome. I cant wait till the next AP tour in spring.

    AP Tour FTW!!!

by AmberMN on 10/3/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

I really liked the British boys You Me At Six and then The Secret Handshake....they are both are very interactive with the audience and that's what I like when going to a show. I have seen them both live before and they were even more amazing the second time I saw them. They both remade popular songs and the people that didn't know them as a band knew at least one song and not totally out of the loop. I liked Quietdrive, but why wouldn't I they are a hometown band. The Acedemy is and Maday Parade were ok live but I only knew a few songs from each band. Other than that the show was amazing I would totally recommend this concert to all of my friends! :]

    Amazing

by amgflake on 10/3/09Station 4 - Saint Paul

This concert was seriously one of the best I've been to in a long while. Even though one of the bands couldn't make it, the tour had Quietdrive fill the spot, and they did great! A mix of 5 bands couldn't get any better than these 5. All the bands were super cool as well and stayed after to hang with all the fans!

    Epic

by Rae319 on 8/11/09Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

Mayday Parade was epic! I loved that Waterstreet decided to use their small stage which allowed everyone to be closer to the band. They really included the audience and made it an awesome show.

    Mayday Parade rocked Water Street!

by elOReyeN on 8/11/09Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

Despite waiting in the rain to get inside, and the building itself being seemingly a million degrees and incredibly humid, the show was still great. Playing all the fan favorites from their catalogue as well as a new song off of their soon to be released new album Mayday Parade kept the crowd going in the small venue.

    Great Show!

by Golliwopper on 8/11/09Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

Mayday Parade played with a lot of energy and put on a great show. Miserable at Best was very well done on piano with a sick powerful full instrumental ending.

    Awesomly Shocked!!!!

by Looch237 on 8/11/09Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

I am new to this group and i did not think this show would be as awesome as it was!!!!!! It was absolutley amazing! It was in a very small venue, which i am surprised about, and it was probably 100 degrees in there, but these guys completely rocked! Miserable at Best was a great song and the end was sooooo different than the original, that they need to do it that way every time! They had the whole band come out and rock the last part of the song! Great idea! And then they came back for an encore and did I'd Hate To Be You.... and they just totaly took the crowd home from there. Unbelievable show! Would def go see them again and i hope to see them mainstream some day at a bigger venue with more songs!

    Absolutely Amazing

by CrescentRoses on 8/11/09Water Street Music Hall - Rochester

Mayday Parade had the whole venue jumping around and being crazy! Loved every minute of it. The opening bands were local bands from Rochester, NY and they were pretty good too. Cons: The show started late but that's expected most of the time. Rained really hard before we got into the venue and it was SO hot. I don't think the venue had AC at all. Pros: They didn't take long to do sound checks either which is appreciated. I was extremely close to the stage so I got a great experience from the whole thing, plus amazing pics and videos. When it was over, I went around the back and all of Mayday came out and signed/took pics for the few people there. They were all so nice and happy to do it. The opening bands came out too to take pics and sign. Overall, amazing concert. Mayday Parade is a great headliner show.
