About

A star of stage and screen, Matthew Morrison has been nominated for Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe awards.
Morrison currently stars in "Glee," Fox's hit musical comedy series from Ryan Murphy.  In the show, Morrison stars as Will Schuester, an optimistic high school teacher who tries to refuel his own passion while reinventing the high school's glee club and challenging a group of outcasts to realize their star potential.
Morrison will next be releasing his debut solo album with Mercury Records on May 10, 2011.
Morrison studied musical theater, vocal performance and dance at New York University's renowned Tisch School of the Arts.  His big Broadway break came when he was cast as heartthrob Link Larkin in the hit "Hairspray." Morrison was later nominated for a Tony Award for his role in "The Light in the Piazza," and received a Drama Desk Nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical for "10 Million Miles." He also starred in the Tony Winning revival of "South Pacific" at Lincoln Center Theater in New York.
A California native, Morrison divides his time between Los Angeles and New York.

Matthew is an excellent entertainer! He does it all. He sings a variety of music, dances, has great energy and lot's of personality. He has a terrific voice and we loved the show. The band was exciting and did not overpower the performance. His special guest was also a treat.

Although this is his concert tour with a new album out, there are very few of his original songs in the concert (3 total when I saw him). Instead, it was a nice mix of some songs covered on Glee, other big hits, with a great surprise guest star, and those few original songs. If you love his awesome dance moves, dreamy voice, and charming personality, this is definitely a stellar concert to see. I left feeling over-the-moon happy!

Matthew is a triple threat performer

by pecs on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

The concert was incredible. We are fortunate to be able to attend many concerts and this was one of the best. He sings and dances like performers use to. His choice of songs were perfect as were his back-up singers and band. As if that weren't enough, he's a hell of a nice guy. He met with some of his fans before the show and chatted and performed like he had all the time in the world. This was "Some Enchanted Evening."

Matthew Morrison is a triple threat!

by pinasky on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

MM is a charming, engaging, talented performer. He held his own during his concert and there was never a dull moment. He doesn't need crazy theatrics to entertain his audience and his transparency is refreshing.

    Matthew Morrison rocks!

by Dinahmite on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

While I knew the show would be good, I was blown away. Morrison sings with power and an exceptionally strong and clear voice. His range of music styles is huge, appealing to young and old alike. The entire show is so well-choreographed and Morrison moves like a young Gene Kelly. The band is very tight and, obviously filled with outstanding, experienced musicians. Morrison's connection with the audience was great. What a fantastic evening.

    Happiness!!!

by Mattfan1 on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

Matthew Morrison put on a great concert at the Beacon Theatre. Nice to hear some of his new material, and he mixed it in nicely with some great surprises, including an acapella medley of the score to "West Side Story." His is definately a triple threat and showed all of the skills off throughout the show. I had a great time and it's nice to see him back in New York City.

    Matt Rocked!!!

by symie on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

Matthew Morrison is a mega talent. His voice is strong and pure. His dancing skills are awesome. He spans the entertainment spectrum......... acing every style..... rock, pop, Broadway, rap, soul , gospel!!! His show was a delicious buffet of all these styles. He sounds better acapella. His rendition of the songs from West Side Story with only a bongo beat was incredible. The band was a bit too loud for my taste. The Dance segments of the show proved that Matthew is in league with Gene Kelly, and Michael Jackson. Matthew's concert is a treat for Gleeks and everyone else who appreciates talent!!!

    Matthew Morrisson in Concert

by hotgary on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

Those of us who knew Matthew Morrison's work B.G. (before Glee) understand that he really shines on the stage. His early work in Hairspray, Light in the Piazza and South Pacific was excellent. This is the first time New Yorkers have seen him taking centerstage at the enormous Beacon Theatre at Broadway and 74th Street. His choice of musical selections was eclectic spanning from Rogers and Hart to rap. He sang beautifully in every style showing how talented he really is. Morrisson was backed by an excellent band and backup singers and also brought along some surprise guests, none of whom disappointed. The choreography fit the numbers very well. The only short coming was that the performance was amplified far too loudly. The opening act was Ian Axel whose unique musical style was enjoyable.

Love Matthew Morrison even more now!

by Bellady on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

He was amazing. He's so talented and diversified. He can sing, dance and act. He sang songs from Glee and from his album which were fantastic. He also did "She's Like the Wind" and I had tears in my eyes. The coolest thing was he had JC from N'Sync there. My daughter loves N'Sync and Justin Timberlake so she was thrilled to be at the concert with me. I will DEFINITELY see Matthew again!

    MM a surprise fun evening!

by AANYC on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

I went to Mathew Morrison's show with expectations of a light, fun evening. I was really pleasantly surprised to have seen a thoroughly enjoyable show. To some degree it IS hard to reconcile MM with his Glee persona, and he himself aludes to that. But he came out looking like a true blue bona fide movie star. He knows how to handle his voice and was really a great showman/dancer and gave from the heart. He's at his peak, so don't miss the opportunity.

    Absolutely AMAZING

by SamiD24 on 8/3/11Beacon Theatre - New York

This show was amazing! Matthew came out dressed in a tuxedo for the first few songs, and didn't stop moving for one second onstage. He was genuine in his performances, making sure to get to both sides of the stage to look directly at audience members. It was clear by the giant grin on his face that he was having a wonderful time too! He made sure to hit all the highlights of his CD for the crowd, and even had a few tricks up his sleeves with covers of Patrick Swayze's "She's Like the Wind", and Kanye West's "Golddigger". There was even a moment where he addressed that he was in a boyband, and from that, he began to sing "This I promise You" by Nysnc. To the audience's delight, a few seconds into the song, JC from Nsync walked out of the wings to perform with Matthew, and then was allowed to do a song of his own. Journey's "Don't Stop Believin". Matthew even told stories, and connected to the crowd, telling them that yes he's known for Glee, but that he wrote a song about, essentially the identity crisis people have with him, thinking that what they see onscreen, is who he really is, and it's not, its just his character. To that effect, he told the audience he wrote "My Name" while in London. All in all, he iwas absolutely amazing, put on a great show, and is someone I would absolutely spend money to go see again and again!
