Consistent, candid, honest and forthright about everything from life to music, Matthew Good is one of few Canadian musicians that requires no introduction.
In 2007, that candidness revealed itself as Hospital Music, an album dedicated to the ordeal Matthew Good was thrust into when dealing with bipolarity. Using the creativity of music to work through the revelation and realism of that diagnosis, Good and his followers formed an unbreakable bond based on what proved to be one of his most impeccable albums.
In 2009, Matthew Good finds him in an enviable place: alive, feeling fine and more inspired than ever before with the release of his 11th album entitled, Vancouver on October 6th. Matthew Good's latest release, Vancouver is a dedication to and examination of his experiences living in the world-renowned city for the better part of his life; the land responsible for forming many of his personal reflections and opinions on the world.
On the track "The Vancouver National Anthem," Matthew Good has many observations about the contradictions of what is going on within the city, a track boasting/solidifying the union of Good and artist Pete Yorn. As with the bulk of Good's catalogue, Vancouver was recorded at The Warehouse Studio. Joined by the majority of his live band-journeymen and session players who have truly connected with Good's own vision and direction-Vancouver is easily Good's most coherent, enduring, and indelibly appreciable work to date.
Matthew Good has sold over 800,000 albums world-wide, awarded three Juno Awards and has received 17 Juno nominations. Matthew Good was awarded the Mental Heath Voices 2008 Award on behalf of the Canadian Mental Health Association, an award for proliferating awareness of mental health issues throughout Canada.

Matt Good's band was flawless, tight and brilliant. Venue was superb. Nothing like seeing a band in a venue with perfect sound, unlike outdoor shows where people mill about and talk. haven't enjoyed a concert like this in years.
Let me start out by saying I've been a fan of Matthew Good since the "Underdogs" album came out. It wasn't until this show that I finally got to see him live. Needless to say I had great expectations. I have to say that Matt delivered. It was a solid show and his band was amazing. You may ask yourself why only a 4 star rating? The reason is simple and selfish of me. I wanted to hear more of his older material. Don't get me wrong I like the most recent album "Arrows of Desire". However, I am really a fan of the Matthew Good Band Albums and a good portion of Matt's early solo albums. So I would have liked to have heard more of that material. I do however understand his want to play his new material. It all sounded excellent. Being this may be the first and only chance I may have gotten to see him there were new songs I could have done without and old songs I would have rather heard. In all It was a great show! I'm hoping to catch him again sometime in the near future!
My boyfriend and I got these tickets as our Xmas gift to each other.my boyfriend had never seen Matt Good in concert before. He knew how much I live to see Matt Good perform. The show was amazing! It had so much energy and the music just rocked!! It was a perfect Xmas present! We both enjoyed it tremendously!! Keep up the great shows Matt!! You are very impressive! -Veronica
Great venue and Matt good was very open, the show was personalized.
excellent show!! Matt Good is unbelievably talented.
I have seen Matthew Good many times but this was my favourite show to date! I love this venue and this concert was absolutely fantastic!! I danced, I screamed all the words and I had the time of my life.I can't wait until the next show!
Even his new stuff was amazing. Great set list with a tight band.
Matthew Good and a bunch of guitars. This show was so amazing I can't begin to describe it. Thanks Matt!
It was a small venue so got pretty close to the stage. Incredible performance and Matt was sick! He even unplugged his guitar at one point and performed in the middle of the crowd it was such an awesome experience.
Despite being sick Matt sounded great! He played a lot of his older songs and injected his show with a lot of humor and interaction with the fans.
Matt Good was great. The venue was small but he carried the show with lots of great tunes and witticisms between the tunes. If only people would learn to shut up and listen to the music, it would have been outstanding. Plus, doesn't this guy sell out arenas in Canada? There were 150 people there, tops. Nice, intimate show. Well played, Matthew.
Perfect. Performer sick, sucked it up and performed flawlessly.
.....NO FILLER MATT WAS SICK.............BUT HE PLAYED THROUGH IT.....AND HIS VOICE WAS DEAD ON!!!
A god amongst insects. One man, one guitar, one amazing show.
Matt Good was his usual high-performing self, putting on an engaging set that I only wish was longer.
I'm going to be honest. I love Matthew Good Band, and when I found out that it was just him acoustic, I wasn't disapointed, but just anxious to see how it would be. I'm not lying when I say that this was one of the best solo acoustic shows I have ever seen in my life. I have been to hundreds of concerts, and we all know that some people just aren't as good live. Not the case at all with Matthew. He did amazing. He was great at singing and guitar, also a great entertainer with an awesome sense of humour. I would rate the over all preformance a 10/10. No complaints what-so-ever. Right on !!
If he plays in the Niagara Buffalo region it's very well worth going to see him if you like his style of Music . My guest and I loved it. Emily Green was great also!
Good 'ol Good was phenomenal. Smart set-list. Fantastic performance. Wish he played longer. He's got an arsenal of masterpieces. Hope to hear change of season one day. Jc
One never knows what to expect Matt Good will play on any given night. Friday's NAC performance was no exception. At the 2009 NAC show after the Vancouver album he played every song on the album. So, I thought I would hear a large selection of songs from Lights of Endangered Species. Not so, Matt played a balanced selection of old, new and a few rarities. I guess hiring a horn and woodwind section can get expensive. Great concert, Matt's voice was in top shape, the band was tight and the sound in the NAC is phenomenal. The crowd on the other hand must have though the were at the opera not a concert. They sat through the whole night, even reluctant to stand for the encore.
