About

Matt Rife has exploded as one of the fastest growing comedians through his viral content and remarkable engagement on TikTok, where he has amassed over 13 million followers, and more than 2 billion views globally. As one of the most buzzed about comedians in the business, Rife has been selling-out comedy clubs and theaters across the country and is gearing up to embark on his biggest tour to-date with Live Nation, the Matt Rife: ProbleMATTic World Tour, kicking off on July 20th.

Rife brings forth his refreshingly genuine presence along with elevated material that is quick witted and vulnerable. From a small town near Columbus Ohio, Matt started performing at the age of fifteen then moved out to Los Angeles two years later where he began his career in Hollywood.

In addition to stand-up, he made his television debut on MTV's Wild 'N Out as the youngest cast member in history for four seasons before moving on to other MTV properties, such as hosting the reboot of TRL and appearing on The Challenge. Other credits include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Fresh Off The Boat, BET's North Of The 10, and NBC's comedy competition show Bring The Funny.

In 2021, Rife self-produced and distributed through YouTube his first one-hour comedy special, "Only Fans". This past April, the comedian bet on himself again and self-released his highly anticipated second stand-up special, "Matthew Steven Rife" on YouTube. The special was taped in Austin, TX and is dedicated to his biggest role model, his grandfather Steven who had recently passed. He'll be taping his third stand-up special this fall in Washington, DC.

    Good time.

by Comedy Fan on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

I was worried that he wouldn’t be that funny but he was just as funny as when I saw bill burr live. Someone should tell him to shave that mustache tho, he looks like a 15yr old trying to grow facial hair lol

I peed my pants a little from laughing so hard.

by Mom peeing her pants on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

I peed my pants a little from laughing so hard. Matt nails the jokes every time and he should not cave to the woke who want him to be PC. We need more Matt Rifes in this world so full of hate. Thanks for all the laughs, Matt! Maybe put some feminine pads out for us moms who forgot at your next show!

    Hysterical

by Christen on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

10/10. He’s hysterical. And the two men that opened for him were great too!

    Matt Rife

by Nick on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

The show was great and the opening act was also good. My biggest disappointment was the seating arrangement. The seats were small and they were screwed together so they was no breathing room. Literally sitting on top of each other. There were people vaping and using their phones and it was very distracting.

    Come back to Boston soon!!!!

by Kelly on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

Loved this show! Matt did not disappoint! He is hilarious and genuine, and you can tell he enjoys engaging with the audience. I can not wait for him to come back to Boston. People were warned before the show that if they were disruptive they would be asked to leave, no questions asked. There was a woman behind us who did just that and they immediately asked her to leave, which everyone in the vicinity very much appreciated. This was my first time at MGM Fenway. The venue is great. The seats that looked the best were the second-tier tables, but our floor seats in Section 109 were good, although a little tight together. The food and drink prices are on the high side. Canned water is $10.00. Eat and drink somewhere else before a show.

Instagram lied- Matt Rife isn’t funny

by D S on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

The venue was awesome. The opening acts were funnier than Matt Rife. Bought these tickets a year ago when I found Matt Rife online and thought he was funny. His set in boston felt too forced and performance like. Didn’t feel organic, he definitely tries to stay in the comfortable bounds of typical Gen Z PC nonsense, yet he preaches about how to bring real comedy back. His crowd work jokes just didn’t land. Think he got too big too quick before mastering his art. Wanted to leave early despite paying $300 for tickets.

    Handles Adversity Well

by afaucher8789 on 4/24/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

As one can expect, comedy is subjective and not everyone is going to enjoy all the jokes. A joke was started and an audience member started towards the stage trying to shut it down. Matt stopped and spoke with the audience member one on one and convinced them to let him finish the bit to which they came back and thanked him. He took the time to get off the stage and gave the audience member a hug. Overall, Matt Rife is a class act and is cutting edge in the world of comedy today with his edgy content and quick witted crowed work. I would always love more crowd work while it is clearly not the easiest thing to do because each person reacts differently to being put on the spot. This was the second show I attended in a 2 day period and it was leaps and bounds different on the crowd work than the first show do to audience involvement. I wasn't surprised to hear that most of the jokes, from Matt and the 2 openers, were mostly the same. Although they're the funny people of the world they cannot come up with new content each and every show. To ensure they deliver a good product over and over again they need to do this. Don't be disappointed to read this. Instead, get yourself some tickets and go see the comedic phenomenon Matt Rife today!

    It was ok

by Sage on 4/23/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

Drinks were crazy expensive. The chairs were too close together. He didn't work the stage very well. It's unfortunate that they packed us in there. Plus they didn't get the line moving on time so we missed most of the opening acts.

    Busted Crowd

by Kitty on 4/23/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

I love Matt's crowd work - but boy did he pick some characters in the crowd - I mean the most busted folks in the room. After sitting on my folding chair, I left, without laughing as much as I had anticipated. Trust me, my dad cooking a spiral ham is funnier.

    great show!

by Jloud617 on 4/23/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

Matt put on a great show, despite having no voice! The openers were great too. The staff did a good job of navigating everyone to their seats.

CELL PHONE POLICY Matt Rife show

by Kyle on 4/22/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

My family was extremely excited to see the show. Our group was kicked out immediately, because my son's girlfriend was texting on her phone. I understand there was a policy, disappointed how the situation was handled. I will not attend another Matt Rife show

Matt is great, setup and hecklers suck

by Dude on 4/22/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

The comedy show was good- Matt Rife is amazingly good at crowd work. It was just hard to get into the back and forth when I couldn’t see the audience member or hear them, so in either case, context was lost. Also the hecklers kind of ruined the vibes.

    Just meh

by Wanted Crowd Work! on 4/22/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

I bought 2 tickets in the Mezzanine section. Seats were great, mezzanine was awesome. Matt Rife = not that funny. I paid over $1,000 for 2 tickets and a hotel. The venue was cool, the show was like warm, at best.

    Seats were not great

by Love Matt Rife on 4/22/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

We say Matt Rife and he did not disappoint, but I paid for more expensive tickets to sit on the floor, and we could not see the stage. I should have paid less for balcony and had a better view.

    Better on instagram ….

by Vikki on 4/22/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

We were really excited for this event and sadly disappointed. Matt had 2 openers who combined were on stage as long as Matt was. When he finally took the stage he just wasnt as funny as he is on social media.

    Eh!

by Joanna on 4/22/24MGM Music Hall at Fenway - Boston

First off, the venue is beautiful but staff was awful. Very distracting. Matt was ok but his 2 openers were awful. They should just lock your phones up rather than the constant walking up and down the aisles with flashlights the entire show, looking for phones. I was embarrassed with our Boston audience. The crowd work king couldn't even work with anybody: show started late and ended early: not what I expected at all :

    by OlderWiser on 4/17/24Paramount Theatre-Oakland - Oakland

Loved Matt Rife at the Paramount in Oakland, beautiful theater, great friendly staff, awesome show, would have loved to have video screen up for those of us in the back who's eyes may not be what they used to, to see his handsome facial expressions.
