MATT BELLASSAI LIVE:

Breakout digital video star Matt Bellassai has amassed a huge online following since first cracking up fans in 2015 with his hilarious, booze-fueled rants on popular video series like Whine About It on BuzzFeed and To Be Honest on Facebook. Now he's taking his trademark foul-mouthed humor beyond the internet and into comedy clubs for the first time in 2016 for The Drunk & Alone Tour. The up-and-coming comic will focus his biting wit on everything in his path, delivering fresh gripes and brand-new punchlines at venues across America, and audiences can't wait to hear what grinds his gears. Matt Bellassai's intoxicating humor has already been shared with millions of fans online, and now ticket buyers can experience the sass in person when he makes his highly anticipated IRL debut.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Matt Bellassai grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Northwestern in 2012 with a degree in journalism. He relocated to New York the same year and began working as a writer for online content hub BuzzFeed. While there, Bellassai co-created the video series Whine About It in 2015, which eventually attracted more than 3.5 million weekly viewers. The following year he won the inaugural "favorite social-media star" trophy at The People's Choice Awards. Bellassai then announced he would put Whine About It on hold while he developed new projects, including book deals, comedy tours, podcasts, and TV appearances. His first move was to launch a new video series in the same vein as Whine About It called To Be Honest, after which he announced several dates for his debut standup showcase The Drunk & Alone Tour. Doors are opening left and right for this budding star, and he's sure to continue his rise as one of the freshest, funniest comedians – both online and off.

Matt Bellassai was exactly what you expected!

by ConsuelaBananaHammock on 8/11/16Punch Line Philly - Philadelphia

Matt bellassai did exactly what was expected of him. He was over the top funny, with wine in hand. He didn't go to far or attempt to be something different from his internet personality. I was worried he'd tried to be "too much" filling an hour with what he can typically do in under 10 minutes but he did not. The venue was nice. Good view from any angle. I purchased the VIP tickets (initially not knowing what that was even for). Glad I did; we had a meet & greet after the show. The M&G area could have been arranged a tad better and made a little more personal. It felt more like standing in line st Sesame Place so my kid can get her photo with Abby. Overall, good time. Great night out. (Wish there was some merchandise to purchase).

Matt was even better in person!

by JessicaDC04Iowa on 4/10/16U of I Main Lounge - Iowa City

Matt was super funny. A little more raunchy in person than on his videos. Great stories, brutal honesty. My only complaint involves the venue.. there was no alcohol! A 10:00 show, for a guy whose claim to fame is drinking wine and complaining.. and the audience couldn't drink!??!? That was unexpected.

    Not what I was expecting

by Uiowa on 4/9/16U of I Main Lounge - Iowa City

I was expecting Matt to perform a comedy show, not be interviewed by a student. I don't think it was advertised as it should have been. Great comedian, but poor set up.
