MAT KEARNEY IN CONCERT:

Contemporary Christian rocker Mat Kearney has enthralled fans of inspirational and secular music alike with his unique blend of rock, pop, and hip hop. Kearney's emotional tunes are regularly featured on TV dramas like Grey's Anatomy and Kyle XY, and it's easy to see why -- his live performances reveal him to be a deeply spiritual soul whose heart-wrenching songs hold universal appeal. Whether he's crooning along to the acoustic strumming of "Breathe In Breathe Out" or kicking things up a notch with the hip hop-influenced "Ships in the Night", Kearney is a passionate and dynamic performer who always connects with fans on his must-see tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Mat Kearney was born in Eugene, OR, but it wasn't until he attended college in Chico, CA that he discovered his passion for music. Following a trip to Nashville, Kearney picked up his roommate's guitar and begin plucking out tunes, and before long he was performing at local coffee shops. He linked up with producer Robert Marvin, and together they moved to Nashville and recorded Kearney's 2004 debut album Bullet. The record attracted the attention of execs at Columbia Records, who signed the budding singer just in time for the release of his 2006 sophomore album Nothing Left to Lose. That record was a hit, peaking at No. 2 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and receiving placement in several major TV shows. Kearney's next album, 2009's City of Black & White, topped the Christian Albums chart, and in 2011 he topped both the Christian chart and Top Rock Albums chart with his fourth album Young Love. An inspiring and emotional performer known for his soulful voice, Kearney continues to treat ticket buyers to passionate and moving shows on tour.

  • Mat is the perfect live show

by Kate A. on 9/13/24Old National Centre - IndianapolisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my 8th (I think?) Mat Kearney show, and he is incredible. Always has a good opener, his band is fun to watch, and he sounds amazing. My only complaint is the venue. The Egyptian Room is gorgeous, but the sound engineers don't seem to understand the size of the room. It is always so much louder than necessary, and this show was no exception.

  • Great Experience!

by RBurr on 7/2/24Madrid Theatre - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I have been listening to Matt for 10+ years now and seen him at several venues now and he is always amazing! My only complaint about this venue is the drums were extremely loud causing the vocals to be drowned out.

  • Not a bad seat at Hoyt Sherman

by lmc on 7/2/24Hoyt Sherman Place - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

After a few concerts near the front rows on the floor of Hoyt Sherman, we randomly chose to sit in the upper balcony's very back row and enjoyed Mat Kearney's concert just as much. There is not a bad seat in the venue. And Mat Kearney is one performer we will always come back to see.

  • Mat is Real

by Ryan on 7/1/24Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

He is so down to earth and so fun to see live. Doesn't take himself too serious but just puts on a great performance. I will say his rendition of Paul Simon's "Call me Al"last year at the Fillmore was a highlight of all the times we have seen him. Just a good dude making great music.

  • He never disappoints

by DKBrink on 7/1/24Hoyt Sherman Place - Des MoinesRating: 5 out of 5

Hoyt Sherman Place was a great venue for a Mat Kearney show. There was a good mix from the latest album and some rarely played songs and some favorites.

  • Great concert

by Jolee on 6/30/24Madrid Theatre - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Mat put on a great show! Lots of newer songs, plus old favorites. The band sounded great! Loved the venue too! Would definitely see this show again! Hope they come back through KC again sometime soon!

  • What a great show!

by LisaSB on 6/29/24Paramount Theatre - DenverRating: 5 out of 5

What a great show! I love Mat Kearney's sound but had not seen him in concert before. Seeing him play at the Paramount Theater was even better than I hoped. Perfect venue for his style... great sound, energy, interaction with the crowd. Performance felt very personal. Highly recommend!

  • Best concert venue and great concert.

  • Mat never disappoints!

by Luanne on 6/25/24Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

Mat Kearney always entertains his Boise, Idaho Fans. I've seen him numerous times at the Knitting Factory. This time he was as expected....Fantastic! His new releases were fresh and upbeat, his oldies were familiar and comforting. He gave a great show, so glad I didn't miss it! Thanks Mat.

First time seeing this amazing artist but have wanted and waited over a decade to see him live. I was always in the wrong place or working . He is definitely a must see for everyone! Hands down raw natural talent a fav of mine !

  • So fun!

by Jodi on 6/25/24The ELM - BozemanRating: 5 out of 5

Mat was AMAZING! I’m so glad he stopped in Bozeman. I’d never been to the Elm, and it was so lovely. It wasn’t too crowded, which I’m sure is disappointing for the performer, but it was an awesome performance and atmosphere!! Can’t wait to see him again.

  • Excellent concert.

by May fan on 6/24/24The Wilma - MissoulaRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, great sound. He has so many songs I like he could’ve played another hour and still not played enough. Can’t wait for him to come back.

  • Great Show!

    by HeavyMetalSushi777 on 6/24/24Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

At my core, I am a bit more of a hard rock & metalhead but I do enjoy stuff from many other genres too, and Mat Kearny is one such artist. My buddy & I decided we needed to go check him out and he didn't disappoint, he and his crew put on a great show! The openers were pretty good too. Had a great time!

  • His music made me dance.

by Robbie on 6/24/24The Wilma - MissoulaRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the show very much. I however was frustrated with the venue. I could not see around the person in front of me. We had found a seat next to the sound area. General seating. I had to move and enlist a mgr to help me find a seat where I could see. We tried to upgrade our seats, nothing available. And the top part of the seats in balcony were roped off! Very disappointed we were and frustrated. I’d never been to The Wilma and was looking forward to it. But it’s not the Venue for me, unless I reserve a balcony reserved seat. The staff was lovely and helpful though. The seats need to be tiered on the floor somehow so seeing the show is unobstructed.

  • Average

by Tibbits Ralph on 6/24/24The Wilma - MissoulaRating: 3 out of 5

The experience was average. Mat’s vocals are great and sadly, the sound technicians had his mic very low so it was hard to hear him singing. He played a variety of songs from his albums over the past 15 years.

  • Love this man

by Mia on 6/22/24Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

We love seeing Mat every time he’s in Boise ❤️ he is the best performer and is better live than he is on record !

  • Great show!

by TJ on 6/21/24Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

He played a combination of his hits and new stuff. Loved his delivery. Very entertaining. Great band. Could listen to him all day. This is a must catch for anyone who likes any of Mats stuff.

  • Wonderful

by Eo on 6/21/24Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 5 out of 5

Mat Kearney & band put on a great concert. The show really highlighted his skills at connecting with the crowd and musical adaptation. Loved it, can’t wait to catch him next time.

  • Great show

by Amos on 6/21/24Knitting Factory - Boise - BoiseRating: 4 out of 5

The show was awesome but we didn’t realize the venue was a standing only event. There are tickets to buy reserved seating but that wasn’t made clear when I bought the tickets. I’m too old to stand for 4 hours…..
