    Was great !

by Paul on 3/26/22Tralf - Buffalo

What an accomplished guitarist! The supporting band was phenomenal! I grew up to Minstrel In the Gallery and to hear it live was the best ! Aqualung front to back and hearing all the songs you loved but were never played was great. Cant say enough !

    What a Blast!

by Debi Jo on 3/25/22Tralf - Buffalo

This band was an absolute sensation! From the minute they walked out on stage to the encore, they whipped the crowd into the best kind of frenzy! The lead singer was spot on and each musician was a master of their instrument. Martin Barre was not only one of the most superb guitar players I’ve ever seen, but one filled with fun and extreme passion.

    Tull But Better, Hard Truth

    by G Dexter on 3/25/22Tralf - Buffalo

I'll start by saying that prior to this show, I have seen Jethro Tull in concert 26 times over the last 40+ years. I've been an avid fan and supporter, owning every band and solo album. I will also say that, as much as I've enjoyed seeing and meeting the band, the shows from about 2000 on have been disappointing. The musicianship has been superb and Ian Anderson is an unquestioned genius in my opinion. However, his vocal range and power have been so greatly diminished that it's been sad and at some times painful to watch his performances. So, I go to see Martin Barre's band this week, and I felt all that excitement and joy I remember from years ago! Martin is as sharp and skillful as he was in the heyday of the band, absolutely ripping out iconic JT solos, and introducing new and exciting arrangements of familiar songs that rocked HARD! The band featured Martin on lead guitar. Dan Crisp on rhythm guitar, amazinging good and clear vocals, and a recorder on one song. Alan Thompson did a great job holding everybody together on bass and some backing vocals. Darby Todd was amazing on Drums, reminding me very much of Barrimore Barlow in his prime. And as a special treat, the legendary Clive Bunker joined the band on drums and various percussion during the second set. I thought two drummers might overwhelm the room, but the band was flawless and the show was amazing! I told my buddy that it was the best Tull show I've seen in twenty years and I felt like I was 25 years old again. Really, a top notch performance and at 76, Martin hasn't lost step. He's great!

    Fantastic Show !

    by Bruce G on 3/25/22Tralf - Buffalo

From the minute they hit the stage - it was game on. Everyone in the band is a monster player and personality on stage. The choice of songs was perfect - some mainstream and some a little deeper cut. Sound was perfect and the lighting dramatic and exciting. Wicked guitar harmonies and interplay. Vocals were everything that they should be. Throughout the night, an homage to Ian - but, not merely an imitator. A soul and presence all his own. Great songs are great songs - no one in the crowd was missing Ian. This gentleman is a wonderful storyteller and could bring the phone book to life (are there phone books anymore ?) Amazing energy and focus on the stage. Some of the arrangements were so wonderfully intricate that you couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next and where they were going to take it. Glad that we got to see the show in an intimate setting. Packed house and every eye and ear was riveted on the stage. Crowd was in it from the minute the curtain parted and they poked their heads out. Martin's guitar tone and riffs were beyond amazing. Glad we were there !

    Martin Barre Jethro Tull

Excellent show, Martin just love the music and performing! The music was a great variety of Tull early music! The venue, Sony Hall, is a hidden gem.

    Never Disappointing

by Nicholas on 2/5/22Sony Hall - New York

Mr. Barre put on yet another amazing show. I try to never miss him when he comes around. He was always a big reason Tull is one of my favorite bands. Hearing him solo, he was grossly underutilized in Tull. But you don't have to be a Tull fan to enjoy Martin. If you just like rock and roll, you will find it hard not to like him.

    Fun night of Tull music

by Paul and Steve on 2/5/22Sony Hall - New York

The performance was good and the musicians and crowd enjoyed the show of classic Jethro Tull songs. The Band and the music would have been better if they had someone playing piano and flute. Food and drinks were good too as was the service.

    Top notch

by Matt on 2/5/22Sony Hall - New York

The venue was perfect, the crowd was supportive (always that one guy who is too much - Clive Bunker even told him to “Go Home” after a while), and the band was spot on. Martin Barre is an amazing talent and has surrounded himself with excellent performers, stage craft (who will ever forget the egg!), and a set to remember. Thank you Sony Hall for having this evening. Venue, staff, and management helped to make this evening truly enjoyable.

    Grest Show

    by Kevin on 2/2/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

I've been a Jethro Tull fan since about 1970, and I've seen them several times, including Martin Barre, of course. This is the first time I've been to a concert in such a small space (Rialto Theater, Tucson), and it's much better than the huge venues I've been to before. I was concerned that Tull music without Ian Anderson wouldn't be very good, but I was pleasantly surprised. The music was rearranged, and the missing flute was hardly noticeable. The missing keyboards were more noticeable. I suggest adding a keyboard player to the band, maybe even just piano. I can't complain though. It was a great show and I hope to see the Martin Barre Band again.

    Jethro Tull but better

    by Lehmwhit on 2/2/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

The band was tight, well organized. Mr Barre showed why he was the rhythm behind Tull. He put his own twists on classic Tull music. His presentation was more energetic fthan the last time we saw Ian Anderson's Tull. Th concert as everything yu could hope for with Clive Bunker playing along. We did miss Dee Palmer, though. Otherwise, well worth the money

    by Roland on 2/2/22Rialto Theatre-Tucson - Tucson

Incredibly talented guitarist. Also very funny! The show was incredible. Did not just play JT songs but lots if original songs as well. Played a bit of blues and country rock mixed in. Very polished performance by the entire band.

Incredible performance ...even after 50 years!

    by R. J. on 4/25/19Birchmere - Alexandria

Martin brings the guitar back as the dominant instrument to Jethro Tull's music. He is incredible at articulating through Ian Anderson's extremely melodious and complex music (and martin's occasional re-wrtiten alternative versions to that music), and makes it even more complicated because without the flute, Mr. Barre must often play the flute parts that are re-arranged with guitar ...this guy never gets break through the very long show and never misses a beat with his unending energy. The rest of the band and lead singer is first rate, too! Adding the two young women on certain vocals, lead and backing, was the crowing touch to an unforgettable evening.

Needed a band member to play the flute

True rock concert with great music, great drums, amazing guitars, strong vocals Could reduce the time of the concert, but glad to see some of the great members of Jethro Tull play

    martin barre

by Riolindo on 10/28/18Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - Cincinnati

I loved the venue. I saw Jethro Tull in the 70's, The Aqualung tour they were great!!!! Unfortunately he was not very good. all the songs sounded the same, the singer was terrible. I left halfway thru the show, they tried but it just wasn't working. I wasn't by any means expecting Tull. I been going to 6 -12 concerts a year for 40 years, and being in the business I was very bummed, to his credit Martin played well but that's it.
