A Thousand Voices. A Single Dream.
Inspired by the real-life New York City Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged ‘newsies,’ who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when the newspaper publishing titans raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to fight them. With music by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Beauty and the Beast) and book by Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles, Kinky Boots), this recent Broadway smash is a high-energy musical thrill for the whole family!
Directed and Choreographed by Alex Sanchez.

The actors and actress did an amazing job! The prop changes where great....quick!! Being so close to the stage made you feel even more of a part of the musical, not just an attendee but almost like a New Yorker on the streets seeing this all play out .
I wasn't that sure I wanted to see this show, but I'm so glad I did. The dancing/acrobatics were amazing, the singing and scenery were great! So very glad we went!
Finally! Female newsies! That made my day! It’s definitely different seeing Newsies in the round and not on a presineum, but the cast was energetic and it was so moving and well done! Loved it!
Wonderful musical with a lot of young talented players. Really a lot of fun and is good for adults as well as the kids.
This was the first musical that I had been to outside of a school production and I was blown away. It was an amazing experience that I would HIGHLY recommend. The cast was fantastic as was the venue. It is a rather small theater, so you really aren't ever far away from the stage which make the experience even better. It was a fantastic night full of laughs and great music.
Excellent show! My boys 7 and 10 loved it as much as I did!
My husband, daughter, and I enjoyed the 8:00pm show on Saturday November 25th at the Marriott Theater. The venue was small, but comfortable, and we loved that we were so close to the actors. Of course the music, singing, and acting were very good, and we liked the comings and the goings of the actors down the aisle by which we were seated. I would recommend this theater for others, and will be back again in the near future!
The Marriott Theatre chose an incredibly challenging show to adapt to the round and made an adaptation full of charm and grace. While a typical Newsies production would have an ensemble of 50 boys ready to dance in straight lines with plenty of room to utilize any type of dance they could conceive of, the Marriott had to recognize their strengths and capitalize entirely on those. And by God, they nailed it. Thoroughly entertaining, the cast held my attention. I couldn't focus on one spot before my eyes were moved to the other side of the stage to witness another star moment by these young performers. An incredibly fun night of theater.
Newsies was so much fun. Amazing dancing singing acting and historical. Great story.
