10/10 WOW...!
by SWestleyJ60 on 10/4/24Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5I'd never been to the House of Blues in Boston before but it exceeded my expectations in every way. First of all, buying passes to their Foundation Room was a great decision - While everyone else stood in line on the street, waiting for the doors to open, we got right in, went upstairs, had a few drinks, and relaxed by the fireplace in the Foundation Room for the concert to start. What a way to pass an hour...!
Second, I hadn't seen Marianas Trench in concert before, but this was one of the best shows I have been to in quite some time - They played for about 2 hours, and literally put everything they had into the concert. Their musicianship was impeccable, as was their collective enthusiasm, and as a result, it was incredible - What a fantastic show...!
Third, we had balcony seats, which I thought were going to be standing-room-only, and I was NOT looking forward to that. However, we had seats up there, we were only 20' from the closest bar, and could see the stage spectacularly. I would definitely buy those seats again...!
Lastly, there are a lot of reviews for the House of Blues online, and a lot of them are negative, specifically because of the tight security and rules. I had a wonderful experience though, and thought that the security personnel were friendly and super-helpful. Getting to the merchandise table required them to escort us there, but it really is understandable - They can't have folks who bought balcony seats going down on the main floor to watch the show, and they can't have floor ticket holders sneaking up to the balconies. In every interaction I had with them, they were polite, helpful, and super-friendly.
I think House of Blues was the PERFECT place to see Marianas Trench - What a powerful, wonderful, incredible show it was - I will DEFINITELY go see them again when they come to Boston next...!
