Marianas Trench in Concert
Multi-Platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench has been big news in Canada for years, and they caught on with US audiences in a major way following their acclaimed 2015 album Astoria, a slick collection of larger-than-life pop masterpieces that showcased their playful lyrical sensibility and knack for anthemic choruses. In concert, Marianas Trench is a whirlwind of emotion and attitude, rocking the stage with adrenaline-filled performances that put their tight musicianship front and center. Frontman Josh Ramsay is a born performer, and his energy is completely infectious as he sings his heart out on upbeat jams like "This Means War" and "Celebrity Status." The rest of the band keeps pace with lively performances that always leave fans thoroughly rocked and ready for more.
Marianas Trench Background
Marianas Trench was formed in Vancouver in 2001 by Josh Ramsay, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who previously fronted the group Ramsay Fiction. He joined forces with Matt Webb (lead guitar), Mike Ayley (bass), and Ian Casselman (drums), and Marianas Trench made their debut in 2002 with a self-titled EP. In 2006, the band released their full-length debut album Fix Me on 604 Records, which they supported with extensive touring across Canada. The album went gold in Canada, but its success paled in comparison to the band's 2009 sophomore LP Masterpiece Theatre, a Top 5 hit on the Canadian Albums Chart that established them as pop royalty virtually overnight. Their third album Ever After was equally well-received, cracking the Top 10 and earning a prestigious Juno Award nomination for Album of the Year, and earning the band the title of Juno Award winners for Group of the Year in 2013. Their fourth album Astoria earned them a 2016 Juno nomination for Group of the Year and unleashed the power ballad Who Do You Love. It also opened up Marianas Trench to the European market where the band toured twice in support of Astoria. Currently in the studio, Marianas Trench is hard at work putting the finishing touches on their 5th album set for release in early 2019.
Amazing show. I'm so glad they played their old hits as well. The opener was fantastic as well. All around a great show to see
mariana's trench still got it! band was super into it and spot on, which made the vibe really excited. only downside was that they didn't play my favorite song: celebrity status. also, my partner thought they let the crowd sing too much, repeating multiple times "i paid to hear THEM sing". still a great concert and very glad i went!
Great show, Marianas Trench played a great mix of songs from numerous albums. High energy, Mike and Matt each sang a song. Highly recommended. Josh sang using his full range and didn't hold back at all. Will definitely go again.
The atmosphere was electric throughout the performance. The audience knew all the lyrics all the way back to their first album. Marianas Trench fans all left happy and smiling - maybe a little tired after dancing for 2 hours straight.
Me and my couson go to see them everytine they come to moncton, and it was a amazing as always!
I got VIP and it was worth every penny, the seats were amazing, the experience was better then I thought it would be. The band sounds just as amazing live as they do in recordings.
Best concert Ever! Josh is so hot. The lighting and effects were amazeballs. Those notes. That harmony. Guys... you outdid yourselves.
Marianas Trench always puts on a fabulous show, the energy of the band & crowd is amazing! This has been my 4th show in Moncton, New Brunswick. The smaller venue really allows for an intimate experience with the band, thanks MT for always coming to New Brunswick!
Amazing band. They have the best sound. Best vocals... Best show
There are few performers who can put on theatrical shows the way MT can! Their energy and charisma just emanates throughout the show and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. This concert was a perfect blend of old and new music and my appreciation for the new album grew as I heard them perform the songs live. You could feel their passion and their heart shine through and it made the whole night special. It was an absolutely amazing time! Shoutout to Paio and Cassadee Pope for being really fun and energetic openers too!
I love seeing this band perform in person! They put on a truly theatrical show and sound incr edible live.
One of the best bands! Great energy, amazing parts singing, stellar musicality, such nice and cool guys. Venue was also beautiful and a great choice! Come back to Seattle again soon!!!
There are no words. They really take you "into the storm."I love this band. I love their music. Tk see them live was a whole experience. I cannot recommend enough! I felt like I was going to explode with excitement! The Depot venue, however, really needs to figure out an air flow situation. I was at The Complex the night before with a much bigger audience and I was a comfortable temperature.

I’ve loved MT since I was a teenager and now at 26, I finally got the chance to see them in Seattle. They blew my mind, the concert was way better than my expectations. Like I expected them to be good but not absolutely amazing. Josh’s voice is so incredible to hear in person and man can he hit those high notes!! Also seeing him duet with Piao was so cool! This was their first time back in Seattle in 5+ years and I really hope they come back again soon because I will 100% go see them again. Multiple people (including me) were crying during the concert - it was such a good experience. 10/10!
Best band. Loved every minute of the concert. 10/10
Marianas Trench put on an amazing show! Sound quality was great.
Omg this was such a fun concert, they sounded incredible (though I couldn’t hear the singer at times because the bass and drums were too heavy) but outside of that it was a damn blast! They interacted with the crowd a lot and everyone knew every song which made being in that audience so so so so fun.
What a great show. The music sounded wonderful. This band really loves their fans and it shows.
My favorite band and they (as always) were awesome!
