About

Mariah Carey is a singer, songwriter, actress and author from Huntington, New York. Known for her five-octave vocal range and songwriting prowess, Carey is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with a record 18 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 to her name — the most of any solo artist in music history. Carey got her start at 21 with her debut album Mariah Carey, which featured four consecutive chart-topping hits: “Vision of Love,” “Love Takes Time,” “Someday” and “I Don’t Wanna Cry.” Other albums in Carey’s early discography include Emotions (1991), Butterfly (1997), Rainbow (1999), and Charmbracelet (2002). In the mid-2000s, the singer hit the top of the charts again with her smash albums The Emancipation of Mimi (2005), E=MC2 (2008) and Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009). Billboard named her single “We Belong Together” from The Emancipation of Mimi as the defining song of the decade. Also known as the “Queen of Christmas,” Carey became the first artist to score a No. 1 hit across four consecutive decades when her 1994 holiday single “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hit No. 1 for the first time in late 2019 and early 2020, a full 25 years after its initial release. Mariah’s modern holiday classic has since returned to the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years running, spending a total of 14 weeks and counting at No. 1.

  • Perfection!

    by MCFAN01 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Mariah 2 other times on this tour and her ATL show was by far her best yet! Her voice was excellent and she was getting a great vibe from the crowd. Was in the pit with other fan club members and it was off the chain. Mariah's dancers were awesome too....love that Stephanie Mosley! :) Background singers Trey and Sherry...your the best what can I say. Great show and was worth every penny.

The show was extremely short. She started 2 hours too late. I am a mariah fan, but I recognized very little that she performed.

  • OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE!!!

    by Neisy32 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was the best one I have ever been to ( I have been to atleast 20 concerts in my life). Mariah is absolutely gorgeous, amazingly talented and has a great sense of humor. I think I might go to another concert...would that be obsessive?? *smile*

  • Nice show!!!

by Boki on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Mariah Carey's show was 1st class. Her voice and the way it sounded in Atlanta's Fox theatre, was awesome and true to what we expected. If there is anything to complain about, it might be the leinght of her performance. A little too short if you asked us. All and all, it was a memorable time. And we have had a lot of fun last night. I may also add, that the Fox theatre was great. Nice 1 st class service, and bar was affordable, not to mention how preaty the whole place is. I highly recomend a night with Mariah it the legendery FOX theatre in usually borring A-town.

Mariah Carey once again proves that she still got it. Her voice was unbelieveable and amazing. She sang some throw back songs and still hit those extremely high notes with no falter. Downside: The show was suppose to start at 7:30pm. Of course most shows don't start on time, but she didn't perform until 9:00pm!!!! That was a little too long of a wait. People were falling asleep!!!!

  • Love, love, love Mariah!

    by berry1 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely love, love, love Mariah! She was so great! She hit the highest notes I have ever heard her sing, and I love the way she interacts with the audience.

  • Mariah at Her Finest!

    by ImAPepper81 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I was lucky enough to attend Mariah Carey's January 19th show at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Her voice is in spectacular form for this tour, and she consistently delivered on every song. The set list was a bit shorter than normal, but Mariah made up for it with her astonishing vocals. She sang an impressive collection of hits dating back to 1991's "Emotions," as well as select new material from her current album, "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel." She hit the high notes and belted the ballads with the greatest of ease, and to much appaluse and appreciation from the audience. She kept the energy up and the crowd on their feet. Out of 20+ concerts that I have attended in my life, this was the best.

  • Great singer

by Alohalani on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

The concert was wonderful...Mariah is an AMAZING singer! The only complaint that I have is that the show start ONE HOUR LATE!!!! Her opening act only sang 3 songs...and there was a good 1 hour and 15 minute wait time between the opening act and Mariah. I know that she's a "diva"...but the late start time was much too long.

  • Expected More

by jmonet on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

I mean, I know shes a Diva and all but did we really have to wait almost an hour after the opening act for Mariah to come on stage? I don't like when my fav singer gets boooed before she even comes on. Plus, the opening act sucked and she only played three new songs from her latest album. I thought I was going to the angels advocate tour. if I wanted to hear a bunch of old songs I've heard a million times before on my ipod I would have time traveled back to the last two Mariah concerts. I wanted to hear "Ribbon" and "HATE U" Need better content for me to go to another mariah concert in the future. The theatre and the dancers were amazing by the way. The male dancers upstaged the star. The theatre manager upgraded our seats when a huge light stage right beamed right at our orginal seats so much I had to put on my sunglasses. Thank you Fox Manager!!!

  • Mariah in Atlanta

by tommyatl on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Mrs. Diva was about an hour and a half late to take the stage, and did not perform some songs that you would have expected. Songs like, "I want to know what love is", "Butterfly",and "Hate U". I have seen MC 5 times know and this was not my favorite show, but all in all she was Great!

  • Love her but wish she was on time!

by Cathatbat on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

I am a die hard Mariah fan, so even if I only got to see her for 20 min. I am ok. But I really wish it didn't have to be that way. We waited so long for her to come out that the auditorium started chanting her name a couple of times.... and eventually booing each time we realized she STILL wasn't coming out. I was wasted, so that kept me entertained.

  • Glittzy Mariah !!

by CrazyTravelbabe13 on 1/20/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 4 out of 5

Mariah's voice & stage presence is great !! Her 4 dresses were very glittzy. I wish she could have sang for 2 hrs. with all her great music.

  • Amazing!!

by AtlPinkJess on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

The show was undoubtably one I will never forget!!

  • Mimi was great!

    by ShayShay10 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I enjoyed the show last night. The only setback was waiting for her to perform. I would recommend having 2 or 3 opening acts next time. MC only had 1 opening act to perform. After their performance, the wait was 30-40 mins before MC performance. More opening acts would have entertained the antsy crowd. Other than that, once MC show started it was awesome and memorable. Great dancers and I loved the guys playing the horns. Oh yeah, I can't forget the dancer during the song, "impossible". AMAZING!!! I would definitely go to another show!

  • mariah carey was disappointing.

    by t1ghtrack on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

She came on late. The sound system was poor. The crowd was so loud you couldn't hear HER sing. She spent too much time taking breaks - costume changes, drinks, chit chat with the audiance.

  • Mariah Carey is a DIVA !!!!

by alscorpio on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Being this is our forth concert to see Mariah, we feel compeled to rate this one against the others we have seen. For starters, she was late coming out to the point some of the audience started booing after a while. I'd say she was about 1 hour late. Once things got started, the audience calmed down. Mariah is not much of a " Performer " in the sense that she does not move much. The thing that bothered me a little was it seemed she was off stage more often than on ( wardrobe changes ). Also she spent too much time talking to the audience. We, my wife and I, went to hear her sing, not talk. Also we would have liked it if she sang more songs from her latest album and less from the past. Don't get us wrong, we LOVE Mariah. We will see her again next time she comes to town. This is just a little constructive criticism to help make her next concert great !!

  • Mariah is simply amazing!!

by Seressa on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I'm so happy to have had the opportunity to see Mariah live. Her voice is breathtaking!! She's so gorgeous and has a wonderful personality. Only downside is that she's always late!

  • Good Concert - Not so great sound

by WoodTA on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Mariah is a remarkable singer and I was dissapointed that the sound system used during the concert did not amplify her voice over the instruments. There were many times during the show where you new she was singing her heart out with her fantastic voice and you could not hear the vocals. Also did not start till 9:00PM with a total hour and half of Mariah with several costume changes so background singers performing. Did not sing "Hate you" or "Wanna know what love is" off of new album but did a few oldies that got the crowd upbeat. She is and will always be my alltime favorite artist but just did not seem to have as much time on the stage as was hoping. I did see her last time in ATL and she was awesome. Sounds like I am whining but she is such a great singer and I really wanted to hear that voice more.

  • Mariah Carey Atlanta 2010

    by Missy1178 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Mariah was good but to short for the money. One hour and 15 minutes is just to short for a star like Mariah. The complaint I have is that she didn't come on stage until 9:15 pm when the opening act ended at 7:45 pm. So we sat around for 1 hour and 30 minutes doing nothing but wasting our time. I think someone should pay for our time.

  • Beautiful

    by tawana78 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Mariah was her usual Beautiful self. I loved the dancers that were a part of the concert! I wish the show had been longer than 1.5 hours. And that she had done some of her other songs. That said the show was a success. Amazing and Beautiful.
