About

Mariah Carey is a singer, songwriter, actress and author from Huntington, New York. Known for her five-octave vocal range and songwriting prowess, Carey is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with a record 18 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 to her name — the most of any solo artist in music history. Carey got her start at 21 with her debut album Mariah Carey, which featured four consecutive chart-topping hits: “Vision of Love,” “Love Takes Time,” “Someday” and “I Don’t Wanna Cry.” Other albums in Carey’s early discography include Emotions (1991), Butterfly (1997), Rainbow (1999), and Charmbracelet (2002). In the mid-2000s, the singer hit the top of the charts again with her smash albums The Emancipation of Mimi (2005), E=MC2 (2008) and Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel (2009). Billboard named her single “We Belong Together” from The Emancipation of Mimi as the defining song of the decade. Also known as the “Queen of Christmas,” Carey became the first artist to score a No. 1 hit across four consecutive decades when her 1994 holiday single “All I Want for Christmas Is You” hit No. 1 for the first time in late 2019 and early 2020, a full 25 years after its initial release. Mariah’s modern holiday classic has since returned to the summit of the Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive years running, spending a total of 14 weeks and counting at No. 1.

  • Great show...started too late

by cbss on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Show was great but waiting an hour and 15 minutes between opening act and Mariah was very long and frustrating. Once she came on though it was a lot of fun and she can still hit every note in the book!

  • Diva that needs a reality check

by MrHo on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

While Mariah still has a great voice her show is one of the worst I've seen..........first of all she only did 3 songs that were the hits that made her famous from late 80's & 90's......most of it was her latest hip-hop stuff......very very dissapointing......what was worse was her attitude on stage ........self indulgence......making her fans wait for an hour and fifteen minutes after the very average warm up band was insulting and dissrespectful..........the sound was not mixed correctly to hear her voice above the band.......I have seen far better shows in Vegas by artist's that recognize what brought them the fame and give that back to the audience............i cannot stress enough to not go see this show or pay high ticket price if you want to see her past hits.......... Wish i could get a refund cause I would have walked out for that!

  • An hour late with no apology

by JoujouC on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Voice was weak and drowned out by musical arrangement. Looked sluggish. Venue facilitated drunkenness, Mariah's lateness exacerbated the situation by giving people nothing to do but to eat and drink alcohol for an hour,; the vendors must have been pleased. People allowed to remain standing throughout concert thereby blocking the view of those who wanted to sit. Waste of $300 for 2 people.

  • Mariah, gorgeous as ever!

by Anonymous on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Mariah was amazing from the start. She made a grand entrance and looked gorgeous the entire evening. The only bad part was waiting over an hour between the opening group and Mariah's start. The crowd started to boo a little waiting for her to come on, but the wait was well worth it. She performed for about 1.5 hours with 4 or 5 wardrobe changes, getting sexier every time. Her final black gown was the best showing her wonderful curves! We saw her at the Phillips arena in 2006 and this show was much better.

  • Wait for her next big concert and skip this one

by MYSTOMACHHURTS on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

There were no set changes, the dancers appeared to be unprepared and unprofessional, she didn't sing "Always be my baby" or "I'll be there" (and Trey Lorenz was present) and the venue didn't seem to work well for concerts (sound wise). All of these imperfections for the same price as one of her bigger and better concerts!

  • by Anonymous on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Mariah is unbelievable but it took way so long for her to come out and perform.

  • Mariah was good, but I have seen her better!

    by NFLD1 on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

First off, MCC came to the stage over an hour after the opening act. Fans were anxious and a bit tired waiting, but when she did arrive the crowd had alot of energy. Mariah looked great, a bit fuller than what we are used to seeing but being married does that to you! Her mic was not loud enough through most of the concert, unfortunately and that made it hard to hear amazing voice. Her band, backup singers and dancers were fantastic! By the second part of the show, her mike was right and her voice was stellar! Old songs like Emotions and Hero were great to hear as well as new songs like It's a Wrap and Obsessed, plus crowd favorite We Belong Together were the best! The crowd was very energetic & true fans which made it fun to see her more in the more intimate Fox. Overall, good show, but Adventures of Mimi tour was a bit better.

  • it sucked!!!

by jobaaby on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

show started over an hour late and she only sang like 5 of her top songs. All the rest were slow and forgetful and it was a mix of her singing with alvin ailey dancers in the back. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!!

  • Not worth the money

by pointless on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Mariah came on 2 hours late, she did not perform her classics such as Vision of Love, and the sound system was bad. For the price they are charging for the tickets, I would definitely not recommend going to this concert.

  • Mariah Carey in ATL

by justinperfect on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Show was good. Mariah had everyone wait for an hour and a half, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a diva. We took our seats around 7:30 as the warmup act was finishing up. Then, the Fox Theater played some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits until Mariah took the stage. I felt like the concert was over a bit too soon. She barely touched on even Two 3rds of her catalog. Not to mention Trey Lorenz performed his own Michal Jackson medley while Mariah was making one of her 4 wardrobe changes. I feel like I heard more MJ last night than MC. Mariah has hits for days, and she left us a little dissapointed. Perhaps, barely 2 solid hours of her songs. Either way, she still gave us all a good show, but it could've been better.

  • Long Wait Time

by pinkyojung on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

I waited 1 and a half hours doing nothing. I guess they were trying to sell beverages and foods but show time was 7:30pm but it started 9pm and ended 10:30pm I recomment everybody to be there 1 and a half hour after the show time

  • awful lip-syncing opening group

by billhader on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

They were only on for 15 min, but it's 15 min that I want back. If I wanted to see 3 idiots pretend to sing and tear off their shirts, well I don't actually.... MC was average at best. She pretended to care about the people in Haiti by dedicating a song that was about a breakup rather than say donating procedes from the show to help relief. I'm sure they made more than enough since the avg ticket was around $130 each.

  • Mariah was a waste of money

by GreggC on 1/20/10The MGM Grand at Foxwoods - MashantucketRating: 1 out of 5

She came out over an hour and a half late. They made up some lame excuse about traffic on 95, yet the Arena was packed. She admittedly did not know her set list!!! Are you kidding me? You are on tour, and you don't know your set list. Not too mention she screwed up one of her hits (We Belong Together) 10 seconds in and had to start over.

  • Mariah Carey Atlanta Fox Fabulous

by stubabby on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen Mariah Carey 3 times. This was her best show. The show was well put together. It is an intimate show and the crowd was into it. We stood up during the entire show. Mariah performs all of her hits never misses a beat.

  • by Anonymous on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

I miss the old Mariah...I need to attend a "ballads" show, where she belts out all her big songs. I'm just not for all the hoopla. And the audio quality at the Fox was not great, we had to move back to hear clearly.

  • Mariah was breathtaking.

by drgjs on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

From the moment she appeared on the stage it was nonstop amazement with her voice , her beauty and her attire. The set had a Vegas feel and the band and singers were expertly displayed.as she used her fantastic voice to stroke the hearts and minds of all fortunate enough to be there. Mariah is truly a superstar. She worked the crowd moving with such grace and percision across the stage the entire 90 minutes she was on. The audience was so captivated by her that everyone stood during her awe inspiring performance. What a blessing it was to see such a God given talent in the flesh. She was and probably will always be absolutly, positively AMAZING.

  • 1 Hour 25 Mins 4 Wardrobe Changes?

by VenusC on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

I first want to say that I love Mariah, and will always be a fan. She was beautiful, sounded fantastic, the set was fabulous, her entrance was fantastic, her dancers were very cute, and her backup singers and musicians were great! However, her show was VERY short. If you factor in her wardrobe changes, she only spent about an hour performing. With her vast discography, she could have either cut down the wardrobe changes to maybe one and gave more performances during that time, or had a two hour show with maybe longer breaks in between. She seemed very tired between songs. I don't know if it was due to the shoes, or some other factor. But it really affected the flow of the show. She disappeared after almost every song for (if guess) makeup touch ups as well.

  • Mariah

by SeanJohnAtl on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

Mariah was a lil late but over all I think she did a great job. She look as if she is with child.

  • Although Fashionably Late - Fantastic!

by MJSparkle on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Mariah's show was great! The dancers were beautiful and talented. Especially the arial dance. Thanks for providing me the opportunity to see my all time favorite singer.

  • Mariah was great but late!!

    by MBFan4Life on 1/20/10Fox Theatre Atlanta - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Overall, the show was amazing. I was a little disappointed with the timing the show was to start @ 7:30 and the opening act started on time but Mariah didn't show up until 9p.m. I had my kids there and they were very excited to see her but they got restless and tired while we waited for what seemed like forever so I don't think they enjoyed the show as much as I had hoped because they got tired from waiting. She sang great i wished she had sang more songs from the new album.
