VERY GOOD Music! Be prepared to dance, nod your head and clap your hands!

  • Awful Adaptation

by NYCMom2fiveyrold on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

I'm glad I didn't pay the original price of several hundred dollars for these tickets.... The adaptation was difficult to follow, even if you knew the story from the 1st Madagascar movie. First, they took the love match of Gloria (hippo) and Melman (giraffe) from the 2nd movie and added that to the story line of the 1st movie. Then they made how the animals got to the island so confusing my 5-year old son had a hard time following what was going on. In addition, there were some new characters called "foosa" and he didn't get what they were, why they were there, because they weren' t in the movie. Another new development in the show was that Alex the Lion was going to eat his friends, which also caused more undue stress. To add insult to injury, the language used by King Julien (the Lemur) was entirely inappropriate. Calling the main characters "freaks", screaming "shut up", etc. I was SHOCKED and APPALLED. All in all, I am terribly disappointed in the script, in the show. Waste of money.

  • Madagascar was a great show for families

Great show, we really loved it! The giraffe was hilarious!

  • Fun for all ages

by KGGB on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

I took my two kids, ages 3 and 4 to see Madagascar Live. THey absolutely loved the movie so thought this show would be a good idea. They sat totally spellbound through the whole show and didn't take their eyes off the stage. The show, like the movie, appealed to an extensive range of ages. I got the quick witty humor and thought it was brilliant. Alex, the lion was fantastic! The costumes and talent was a real treat.

  • detached show

by onetimeonly on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

the show was too short, between 75 and 80 minutes and it cost us a family of four almost $300. sort of $4 per minute!! the performers were in their own world and the audience was in another world! seems that the producers thought by keeping the 'you've got to move it' song, they’ll have a real show. was so far from being something even we wish to talk about during our dinners!! very sad.

  • Worth every drop of rain we soaked up!

by DolceMamma on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Very, very good show! Took 3 kids (2 aged 5 and one aged 3). They all loved it - as did the 3 adults! Highly recommended for that age group. Show length was perfect to capture and maintain attention. The glasses given out made the kids' day. Radio City simply doesn't have a bad seat int he house.

  • Unbelievably mediocre

I expected more from the folks at Dreamworks. Uninspired scenery and songs. Thank goodness Radio City is such a spectacular setting.

  • Cute!!!

by lakcarson on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The show was fun and cute. I took my 4 year old and he enjoyed the show as well. The costumes and the scenes were fun. This is a show that kids and adults will enjoy. The intermission was brief and the 2nd half of the show really took off. I would recommend the show.

  • Madagascar Rocked!

by GESA on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Madagascar rocked per my 41/2 year old. It was just entertaining and long enough to hold her attention. She enjoyed the number "move it, move it" which is forever associated with King Julian per my daughter E. Would gladly recommend this to my friends.

  • below average

by bradford1132i43483 on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

poor scenes, poor story, too fast, not engaging, poor costumes... overall filling as if everyone was in a hurry to get it over with...

  • Madagascar was just thrown together!

by Chinagurl on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

it was low budget. Could have had more live & less mechanical characters. It didnt captue my attention, I fell asleep. However, my 7 year old son enjoyed it and that's what matters.

My family of four attended this event: my husband, myself, daughter 10, and son 7. My son enjoyed the performance but my daughter did not. Although the show followed the movie closely, which was nice, the songs, other than the "Move It' song from the movie were not entertaining. The show was boring and the audience response until the very end was pretty non-existent.

  • Unimpressive

by AuntTeesa on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 3 out of 5

For what they're charging, they can afford a better production. The singing was okay, but there was no ensemble, minimal plot, and little humor. My nephew enjoyed it, but was far from jumping out of his seat with excitement and singing along.

  • by krisam on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 1 out of 5

The only good part was when they did the song "I like to move it, move it'. THe show was not very good and I was very disappointed.

  • by BaileyA on 4/25/11Radio City Music Hall - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

My family was very disappointed! We love the movie and thought it was going to be very similar. The only thing was the plot....
