Great entertainment for kids, and just enough vague adult undertones to keep adults laughing too.
It was definitely worth the money. You will love the songs and the animals sure can dance. They stuck to the storyline of the movie, and the costumes were great. The show kept my kids smiling the whole time. I recommend this show to anyone - even the young at heart!!!
Madagascar Live was great from beginning to end!!!
Very disappointed in presentation. My granddaughter loves the movie so planned this as a surprise for her and my daughter went with us. Granddaughter is 3 years old and after the 2nd number she announed "This show is boring"...and we had to agree. Acting left a lot to be desired, especially Alex - could have been a high school production including the costumes. We kept hoping it would get better but realized that wasn't going to happen, so we left at intermission and we were not alone in the exodus. This production certainly did not warrent the price of tickets and many people were there with their children as a treat during this economy. We attend events, musicals and plays frequently but I would never recommend this to anyone.
This was our first event to attend with our 2 year old son. My husband and 8 were both amazed and enjoyed the show. My 2 year old never took his eyes off. He loved it.
The advertisement was for a Broadway play, I thought of the Lion King, no where near the type of production!! The talent was poor, use of puppets, and backdrops.
The first half of the show was slow and the music was not energetic enough. The second half was better. My husband and I have taken our boys to many stage shows (Dora, Go Diego Go, Thomas, etc.) and usually we enjoy the shows almost as much as the kids. This time, the kids definitely enjoyed the show much more than the adults. The best music sequences were Food Chain and Move It Move It at the end. If there are other kids stage shows coming to town, I suggest saving your money for one of the other shows.
This show was really cute. The singers were very talented and made the show a success. There was just enough humor in the show to keep it entertaining for adults as well. I would highly recommend this show to families.
We go to a lot of these types of events as a family. This one really was one of the best ones. Our 2 year old was mesmerized. The talent was great. The show was clever, funny and very entertaining. "I got to MOVE IT, MOVE IT... I Got to MOVE IT MOVE IT!"
I went with my 5yr old daughter and she LOVED it. Her eyes were glued to the stage the whole time and she was dancing in the isle when the music came one. She has begged to go again, but I think we'll wait until they come back. :)
Would go see again, it made me & my guests laugh. The stage colors and the costumes were brillant! It reminded me of the Lion King. Would highly reccomend for nite out with the gals or with the family :-)
An okay show. A little disappointing. Came across as a little low budget. Just did not live up to my expectations, kids did enjoy it though. Glad I didn't buy the most expensive seats.
I took my 7 year old son to see Madagascar Live, and he really loved it! He has seen several shows before, and he left thinking this was the best that he's seen. It follows the storyline of the first Madagascar movie pretty closely. Not the greatest show for adults, but it was entertaining enough. Costumes were cute and the set was better than average. I would definitely recommend for children who like Madagascar!
From the beautiful sets to the great costumes. Madagascar Live was fantastic. I never saw something hold by 3 year old granddaughter's attention for so long. She enjoyed the whole play. Her favorite part was when they said to stand up and dance to "I like to Move It, Move It". I enjoyed it myself because it was more like a play than other children shows. If it ever returns to Houston, TX, I will see it again.
Our 3-year old daughter asked if we could go home shortly after intermission. She knows Madagascar 1 & 2 like any other kid who loves the movies, but there was nothing in the show that compelled her to stay. We did stay til the end and it never really improved except for one number - sort of a soul song by Julian's assistant. This show was just plain bad - like a middle school play or musical. I think the actors did ok, but the script is flat, just reassure one-liners from the movie. Songs were also most likely written by middle schoolers. we paid around $100 for 3 tickets, so I'm glad I didn't waste too much money on such a lame show.
Fun for the kids and adults. My 3-yr old was mesmerized the entire performance!
The show was High Schoolish at best. It did not seem to flow well , was sparse in cast and setting, a real disappointment. We were not even given a showbill nor was there a curtain call. Again, very amature. I would not recommend this show.
Great show that all my girls (8, 6 and 2) enjoyed. They had my two year old dancing in the aisles!
I wanted to take a picture of my son with his Madagascar live glasses on before the show started and then an usher told us no cameras. Put them away now, we tried to explain that we wanted to do for my son, since it was his Valentine's special day to see the show. When i looked in front of me - there were other others taking pictures and videos of their children. So that did not sit well with me since it was my first Hobby Center show.
