About
The hip hop self-starters Macklemore & Ryan have gone far in a short time: they brought thrift stores to the masses with breakout No. 1 single “Thrift Shop,” released their debut album Heist to a No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200, and came out in support of same-sex marriage with gay rights anthem “Same Love.” Combining Macklemore’s thoughtful, funny verses and Lewis’ expertly crafted productions, their unique take on hip hop has struck a major chord with audiences, but what ultimately makes the duo a success has been their ability to write some of the year’s catchiest hooks. As a performer, Macklemore radiates positive energy and delivers his rapid-fire lyrics with crystal clear precision – Lewis takes a supporting role, cueing the beats, hyping the crowd, and engaging in the occasional crowd surf. The pair are on tour in 2013 in support of their debut album, and tickets are in high demand thanks to their reputation for dynamic, must-see live shows.
The Seattle-based duo first joined forces in 2006 when Lewis became Macklemore’s promo photographer, but the focus quickly shifted to music with the release of The VS. series, which included The VS. EP in 2009 and The VS. Redux in 2010. Their 2013 debut The Heist took three years to write and record, and it shows – from the extensive list of collaborators to the appearance of the Seattle Rock Orchestra, the record oozes originality and craftsmanship. In addition to producing, recording, and mixing all of their recordings, Lewis also directs their music videos, including the video for No. 1 single “Can’t Hold Us,” an epic seven-minute-long mini-film that earned them an MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Video. As for the music’s point of view, Macklemore isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo of his chosen genre – from questioning the materialism of hip hop culture in “Thrift Shop” to lamenting homophobia among rappers in “Same Love,” these are songs that embrace diversity and endorse keeping an open mind.

Macklemore inspirational
by Smez1 on 1/19/16Revention Music Center - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5Every concert of his I attend revitalizes my faith in humanity. Rock n roll, rap, alternative he does it all. Such a stage full of amazing talent. My 16 loves listening to Eric Nally and was over the moon when he showed up as well to sing downtown. Can't wait till he's back in town with his new album!!!!!

Lack of information on the event!
by Jadevanture on 1/18/16Global Event Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort - ThackervilleRating: 1 out of 5The Show had no opening acts and I assume it did so I showed up a little late and missed the whole entire show. Wasted two tickets, my money, and my gas to drive an hour and a half out and back! They need to put those type of Information up so that people would know.

Went with wife and kids (11,18- don't judge). Awesome concert. Good facility for family, minus the smoke in casino, but arena was great. Concert was great, high energy and fun.

Good performance. We were impressed by the breakdancing team! Macklemore writes some powerful lyrics, although I think they come across better in his videos than a stage performance. Small venue though...
Great show
by CourtneyElizabeth on 1/17/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5I loved Macklemore and the opening act, Xperience.
Macklemore was awesome!!
by KBdizzle on 1/16/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 4 out of 5The show was amazing! My only complaint is that I did not get the best seat available as indicated when I bought my ticket through ticketmaster. There were empty seats much closer to the stage that I couldn't help but watch all night. The entertainment was great! Macklemore uses his amazing talent and fame to send a positive message while giving the audience a memorable experience. Incredibly talented crew- so glad I went!
LOVED IT

Great evening w/Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
by CarolV92 on 1/14/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5From the second Macklemore walked out on stage until the end of the concert no one sat down. He has great stage presence. He was warm, funny, sounded great live, and had tons of energy. He showed lots of respect and gratitude for everyone in his show from the dancers, back up singers, musicians, to Ryan Lewis. Great lights, special effects, confetti, streamers and interaction with the audience. I went with my teenage daughter and I have no doubt I enjoyed it as much as she did. I would go see him again in a heart beat!
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis brougth the house down!!
by Nirra on 1/14/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5Great concert to start the New Year! Though it was the second stop on their tour, they brought it and then some!
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were amazing!!
by MelisCan2 on 1/14/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5We have been fans for quite some time. Their music is fun and meaningful at the same time. Seeing these guys live, surpassed my expectations. My kids (20 and 13) and I, had a blast. From the start of the concert to the end, we were on our feet, dancing and engaged with the music. It's been awhile since Ive had this much fun at a concert, and it was all worth it. I would recommend this show. If I could, I'd see them again in a heartbeat.
Macklemore is a poet
by BerrySho on 1/14/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5The energy that Macklemore brings to the arena is tremendous. The stage choreography is also right on the money. I Wasn't a huge Macklemore fan coming in but this experience made me a fan for sure. This concert was waaaaay better than I expected. It has horns, shades of def jam poetry, break dancers, and also all the hits that a fan would expect to see were all very well delivered!!!
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis ROCKED!
by livingdonor4 on 1/14/16Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San AntonioRating: 5 out of 5What a fantastic show! Everything and everyone at the Majestic (employees and other concert goers) was perfect. Macklemore didn't fail to entertain, nor did the backup singers and dancers! The crowd was on their feet the entire concert!
Great show, great time!
by TracyKinAZ on 1/12/16Comerica Theatre - PhoenixRating: 5 out of 5Everything was great, the music, the coordination and timeline, lighting, special effects, choreography. The only things that sucked were the opening act (Experian XD) was horrible AND the drink prices were outrageous ($19 for a margarita that wasn't even big at all??)
