The hip hop self-starters Macklemore & Ryan have gone far in a short time: they brought thrift stores to the masses with breakout No. 1 single “Thrift Shop,” released their debut album Heist to a No. 2 spot on the Billboard 200, and came out in support of same-sex marriage with gay rights anthem “Same Love.” Combining Macklemore’s thoughtful, funny verses and Lewis’ expertly crafted productions, their unique take on hip hop has struck a major chord with audiences, but what ultimately makes the duo a success has been their ability to write some of the year’s catchiest hooks. As a performer, Macklemore radiates positive energy and delivers his rapid-fire lyrics with crystal clear precision – Lewis takes a supporting role, cueing the beats, hyping the crowd, and engaging in the occasional crowd surf. The pair are on tour in 2013 in support of their debut album, and tickets are in high demand thanks to their reputation for dynamic, must-see live shows.
The Seattle-based duo first joined forces in 2006 when Lewis became Macklemore’s promo photographer, but the focus quickly shifted to music with the release of The VS. series, which included The VS. EP in 2009 and The VS. Redux in 2010. Their 2013 debut The Heist took three years to write and record, and it shows – from the extensive list of collaborators to the appearance of the Seattle Rock Orchestra, the record oozes originality and craftsmanship. In addition to producing, recording, and mixing all of their recordings, Lewis also directs their music videos, including the video for No. 1 single “Can’t Hold Us,” an epic seven-minute-long mini-film that earned them an MTV Video Music Award for Best Hip-Hop Video. As for the music’s point of view, Macklemore isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo of his chosen genre – from questioning the materialism of hip hop culture in “Thrift Shop” to lamenting homophobia among rappers in “Same Love,” these are songs that embrace diversity and endorse keeping an open mind.

The set was incredible and entertaining, will be seeing them live again!
The show was absolutely amazing! I'm 33 and have never attended a concert before! Can't wait until they come back!!!
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis killed it, absolutely one of the best shows I've been to!
Great show!!! Very entertaining and interactive. Loved the Glitter and Fire!!!!!
This was a high energy, amazing performance concert! I've attended probably 100 or more concerts in my lifetime and this was the best one ever. The crowd participation supported Macklemore and the team in sharing their best work. The impromptu creation of a rap--and the risk he took in doing it live--was incredible. Loved the encores. Hope they return soon!!
Macklemore was great with the crowd. Very entertaining and told us stories like we were people instead of some rehearsed line for a mirror. LOVED him!! Definitely will be seeing him again
They had an upbeat energetic performance keeping me on my feet the whole time!! Can't wait to see these guys again!
Awesome! Great Show!! Thrift shop song rocked the house. Pretty funny seeing Macklemore rockin a Utah Jazz jersey on stage.
His show was amazing. I can hardly describe it in words. The opening acts are iffy and the set changes are very long. But when Mack finally gets on stage, you are in a dream of his grace and music. It is an unforgettable experience. The lights. props, band and storytelling by Ben Haggerty tie in to make the show a memorable experience that will leave you craving more.
This was a fun and energetic show that kept everyone on their feet with hands in the air during almost every song. In between songs, there was a LOT of talking from Macklemore, but somehow it never got boring. He is funny, sincere, has good messages for young people, and just a great face to look at while he's telling stories. Good horns, Dj, dancers, and set. 3 encores. That could be a good or bad thing, depending on your perspective. All told, it's a unique, fun show.
I love Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. What a great show. Macklemore ha so much energy, is a great performer, is funny and inspiring. I love his messages: be yourself, be tolerant, accept others, love, work hard, don't sell out. Go for it M&RL!
They put on a fantastic show!!! Loved every minute of it! Truly enjoyed the floor!
Not as good as Beyonce. but lets be honest. Who is? Macklemore was pretty dope though. Boy's got skills. Super fun concert. I had a blast.
LOVED this concert! It was my 15 year old Daughters very first concert and they LOVED it!!! would definitely go to see them again.
This was my second concert to attend and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were awesome!!!!!!! I can't wait to see them again !
This was the best concert ever!! 10 STARS!! Ryan Lewis killed it and Macklemore is so funny and just so real on his music!
Totally worth the money!! He put on a great show!! He connected with the audience big time.
There are no words to describe how amazing this concert was. Things like awe-inspiring, mind-blowing and incredible fall tragically short.
F***ing awesome show, cannot wait for him to come back.
