    Better musically than old band

by Zman187068 on 8/16/09SpiritBank Event Center - Tulsa

This music still holds up. The current folks have played this so much they are really, really good. If you like white hot rock, with a double base drum and three leading gituars this is you band. Only one band member is from the original. These guys were not at Woodstock, but Hendricks would have listened to the rift in "That Smell". Oh baby, light them up, let's rock.

by JSinSpfld on 8/16/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

The Lynyrd Skynyrd concert with Bo Bice was a great time! The music just kept on coming. One great song after the next. Bo was great also. They played for a long time and the images on the screen were fun to watch.

too loud and the words got lost

by schueck on 8/16/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

I really like Lynyrd s. This is the first time going to one of their concerts. I was really excited and looking forward to it. The concert was disappointing to say the least. The music was so loud I could not understand the words of the song. Bo Bice was good and he was also good when Sweet Alambama was sang. This is one of my favorite songs of the bands. My ears actuallyt hurt like being in an airplane when we left. You know that saying----If the music too loud you're too OLD. I love concerts and loud music ,, but this was not my favorite and it cost $50 for my husband and me.

    Skynyrd Is Still The Best

by Mustangens on 8/16/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

Lynyrd Skynyrd not only plays the music that I love, but they play it with the passion and energy that ranks them at the top of the list. I've won my wife over. She was rocking right along with me. It's was a family fun night. Bo Bice was a perfect opening act. He WILL be a star. Thanks Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bo Bice for a great night.

by Crazy63Bear on 8/16/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

The Lynyrd Skynyrd was the best concert I have ever been to. I came out of the concert with a greater love of the music, pride in my country and a respect for the musicians. I would love to see them again.

    Skynyrd keep on rocking

by Chacabuco on 8/16/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

I did not what to expect as I haven't seen the guys "live" before. Also I haven't heard from them for a while. Yet, the Skynyrd concert was so nice and energetic. There were about two hours of skynyrd rock of the best with both new song and their classics.

Lynyrd Skynyrd - DISAPPOINTING - AGAIN!!!

by harriet311 on 8/15/09Mid-America Center - Council Bluffs

Our seats were fabulous. I was really excited about seeing the band - since we hadn't for 2 years. I have seen them through the years - even before the crash. The last time I saw them I thought they did fine and I enjoyed them - but they did not play Red, White and Blue. This time we had such fabulous tickets, but again they did not play RED WHITE AND BLUE. I totally understand that Free Bird is their anthem and they have fought to be able to play that song - but Red White and Blue is a song with the new era of the band - with new members, and it really speaks to the fans who have supported them all these years. We are going through these same changes, and we have always been there for you - so why is this song always being left out of the set? I honestly thought the last time they didn't play it because Billy looked really tired after Free Bird - but now I am not sure what their thought is now. Also, maybe they are all touring too soon after Billy dying, because they looked a little sad - didnt' have the same spunk. This was not very well publicized either. When I told friends that I was going to see LS - they hadn't even heard they were coming to town - so the attendance was terrible. Because I love them - I would of course see them again - but I hope they do listen to some feedback and give us RED WHITE AND BLUE the next time they are in town.

    Skynard Rocks

by Queenly on 8/15/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

Wow We were there for the Bo Bice/ Lynyrd Show and it was just fantastic. I was expecting a good show from Skynyrd and again was not disappointed. Bo Bice was excellent also. He was very enthusiastic and did a wonderful job. Bo seemed very appreciative of the opportunity to open for Skynyrd. Bo's children were there off stage and the oldest was adorable when he went to join dad onstage at the end of the show. I enjoy Bo's music and southern rock is his genre for sure. The crowd was just absolutely wild about Lynyrd Skynyrd. The music was just a little too loud for the venue - I haven 't heard much of anything in the last 24 hours!! But that's just the risk you run when you are die hard Skynyrds. Of course, Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama were real crowd pleasers and it was fun to watch Bo come out and join in the fray for Sweet Home AL. Fun night, fun crowd, great venue.

    Skynyrd Rocks Southern Style

by stevejx3 on 8/15/09Mid-America Center - Council Bluffs

This is my second time seeing Skynyrd in two years, they are a great band to see live. They don't rely on pyrotechnics to impress, they just come out and rock Southern style. The Mid America Center in Iowa is a great place to see any band.

Skynyrd just ROCKS! Plain, Pure & Simple

by guitarguy83 on 8/15/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

An awesome show at a mid-sized venue with a killer opening band (Bo Bice). Lynyrd Skynyrd is real. A great American band with more than 30 years in the music industry who has weathered the storms. If arrogant "performers" putting on big flashy shows are your thing, you probably won't enjoy Skynyrd. If you want to see true musicians who love their craft, their families, their country, and perform with just the right amount of flair, then you will certainly enjoy the purity and Americanism of a Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. Oh yeah, and Lynyrd Skynyrd is LOUD! My personal thanks to Skynyrd for rockin' America and the world; keep it up guys and gals!

    LYNARD SKYNYRD NOT THE SAME

by JRSSEVEN on 8/15/09Illinois State Fairgrounds Il State Fair - Springfield

THEY JUST ARE NOT WHAT THEY USE TO BE. THEY ONLY HAVE ONE ORIGINAL MEMBER LEFT AND WHEN HE IS GONE IT WILL BE NOTHING MORE THAN A TRIBUTE BAND. THEY HAVE EXPANDED THE BAND BY SO MANY PEOPLE IT ALMOST A ORCHESTRA. AND THE IDEA OF THEM HAVING THEIR OL LADIES AS BACK UP SINGERS REALLY RUIN IT ALSO, THEY ARE OLD AND OUTTA SHAPE. BY THE THIRD SONG THEY WERE TIRED AND COULDNT EVEN DANCE ANYMORE. TO ME THEY ARE SKATING ON SOMEONE ELSES MUSIC AND AT THE SAME TIME TRYING TO CHANGE THE SOUND AND STYLE TO MAKE THEMSELVES FAMOUS. ITS NOT WORKING!!!
