    Magical night

by Jean Ann on 10/16/22Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I’ve seen Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt several times now and while their shows are always entertaining, I think this will be the one I’ll remember for years to come. The warmth, respect and friendship these two stellar performers share comes through in their music and the banter between songs. The spectacular Rialto was the perfect setting for this wonderful show.

A Concert You Don’t Want To Miss

    by R. K. on 10/16/22Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

I have always enjoyed both John & Lyle’s music it was wonderful to see them together. They play so well off each other. This world has changed…it was wonderful to see smiles on everyone’s face & everyone was genuinely friendly & laid back. They made you feel like you were sitting in their living room, just jamming with everyone as one. I go to an average of 8 concerts a year…will definitely see them again! 🎶

Truly a beautiful night with tributes to many great fellow artists, quality music, and touching stories. I could listen to Lyle sing, and John play the guitar forever! Both are incredibly talented men. The positive energy they put forth into the universe is extraordinary. A great time was had by us all!! Happy enchilada!!

    always great

    by K. A. on 10/16/22

I've seen this duo several times and they are always entertaining and their voices never disappoint. The one star deduction is for obstructed views from the front row. 3 rows of chairs are added directly in front of the stage, so the seats are different from the rest of the auditorium. First world problem to be sure, but to spend so much money on what should be excellent seats only to be blocked by speakers is a bummer. Made a mental note not to go this venue again for that reason, and it's a long haul to get there and back from Chicago. Had I known Evanston would be an option before these tickets went on sale, I'd have chosen to go there.

    Great show!

by Mattski on 10/16/22Rialto Square Theatre - Joliet

Great show! Played almost 2 1/2 hours! All acoustic. Alternated songs back and forth between John and Lyle with dialog in between. Some interesting stories. Found Lyle to have a very good sense of humor. Would have given 5 stars if they had a piano or keyboard backup.

    personally touching

by Rebbie on 3/4/19Kodak Center - Rochester

I first thank them for even showing up the weather was horrible. These gentlemen are two of my favorites and did not disappoint! Love how the chit chat and play off of each other as intimate as a luncheon with friends. Sometimes stories flow, sometimes with and occasionally with awkward silence but even that is entertaining. Hiatt is a poet and his song "Have a little faith" is an anthem to my daughter and I as she struggled in the Mental hosp. I'm sure not the situation it was written about. But it made me cry none the less.. And Lyle's voice can shake me to the core, so engaging one forgets all else! Beautiful!

A very entertaining performance from both artists

by Donnad on 3/3/19Kodak Center - Rochester

It was a very enjoyable show. They each took turns performing a song and also collaborated on a few together. John Hiatt played the guitar with Lyle on some of Lovett,s songs which was a nice addition. They spoke to the audience in between each song and were quite funny. They compliment each other very well. Lyle Lovett’s voice was just amazing. The venue was great as well. The acoustics are very good & a nice selection of beers & wine. Hope they have more concerts there.

    Not Quite Up to Snuff

by PirateJ on 3/2/19Kodak Center - Rochester

Lyle Lovett sounded wonderful. Beautiful, clear, strong voice that is wonderfully unique. John Hiatt's guitar playing was stellar. But he was really struggling vocally. That might be fine for old fans that will forgive him anything, but I'm late to the John Hiatt party and so I don't have nostalgia to temper my perception. Not only was he not able to hit MANY notes, but his pitch was often painfully off. I don't know what was going on. Was he drunk? sick? couldn't hear? Hard to say, but it was downright painful to hear at times. Both men are soft-spoken, and they're trying to pull of a tremendously intimate show in a great big theater. We were towards the back of the front center section and I had a hard time making out about half of the conversation. Sound was not great at the Kodak Center. I strained my ears and held my breath to hear Hiatt's story of his misbegotten youth stealing Thunderbirds...one of the highlights of the night. My advice: if you go, get very good seats. I think I would have enjoyed it better if we'd been seated in the first few rows. Cross your fingers that John Hiatt has a good night, and enjoy his masterful guitar. Lyle is a wonderful musician and he'll go a long way to helping you feel you got your money's worth.

    Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt

by Mick on 3/2/19Kodak Center - Rochester

Awesome show, don't suppose you would go if you weren't a fan already. Had pretty good seats but being lil up there in years, along 50 yrs of all sorts of shows, and abuse to my ears, I had a difficult time following the banter the 2 had between songs. No blame to pas along but my own. Venue was very nice, comfortable, great acoustics. WAS a bad snowstorm going on, went off lil' late, people next to me traveled 3 hrs, usually 2. Ushers used bright LED flashlights- annoying. GREAT SHOW!

    Lovett and Hiatt

by music lover on 3/2/19Kodak Center - Rochester

A walk down memory lane. Hiatt is a superb song-writer and can still play the guitar and harmonica, but it may be time to stop singing.

“It seemed like they were singing just for us.”

    by MikeDiTullio23 on 3/2/19Kodak Center - Rochester

That was my wife’s reaction as we left. It was a brilliant experience. Lyle and John played and sang with the emotion and raw feelings that matched the lyrics of their honest, soulful songs. I feel like we are better people for having gone to the show.

by Hondo on 2/26/19Scottish Rite Auditorium - Collingswood

Many previous Lyle shows with this far and a way the best....and now a Hiatt fan too! All so personable, comfortable and musically - well magnificent. Storytellers, dreamweavers sentimentalist and visionairies....at a super, super venue too!
