Lupe Fiasco in Concert

Chicago-born, Grammy Award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco gained national attention with his 2006 album Food & Liquor, which helped cement a new wave of Chicago rappers in the national conversation. Revisit the album that put Lupe Fiasco on the map, and changed the course of Chicago hip-hop forever.

The independent rapper who parted ways with his former label, Atlantic Records, following the release of 2015's Tetsuo & Youth, is pegged as one of the most gifted lyricists and visionaries to grace the mic. Rising to fame in 2006 following the success of his debut album, Food & Liquor, Lupe has released six acclaimed studio albums; Drogas Light, released in 2017 on his own label, 1st & 15th. These albums have netted 3 platinum singles, 3 RIAA Gold Certifications, 12 Grammy nominations and one Grammy Award in 2008 for his infectious single, "Daydreamin," feat Jill Scott. With a trilogy of albums set for 2018 and beyond, Lupe is at his creative peak as an artist. Most recently, Drogas Wave released on September 21st, 2018 via 1st & 15th. His efforts to propagate conscious material helped solidify him as GQ's Man of the Year in 2006, and garnered recognition as a Henry Crown Fellow.

While musical genius and ingenuity are at the forefront of Lupe's achievements, the artist extends his innovation to projects that aim to foster creative discourse and opportunities in underprivileged and impoverished communities. As the co-founder and co-owner of community initiatives such as, We Are M.U.R.A.L, The Neighborhood Start-Up Fund, Society of Spoken Art, and Studio SV, Lupe Fiasco proves that he is more than just a mouthpiece for change, but a committed facilitator of intellectual community discourse and outreach.

    An okay time...

by Anonymous on 8/26/18The Ritz Ybor - Tampa

A little disappointed in the two opening acts, you couldn't understand what they were even saying and the crowd was not into it. We left 20 minutes after Lupe came on stage because he was all hype but was not as good as we were expecting.

All the classics and new stuff too

by Kennan1212 on 8/26/18The Ritz Ybor - Tampa

Being a fan mostly of Lupes first 4 albums, especially Food and Liquor, The Cool, and Lasers, I was hoping for more songs off those albums however with no complaints bc he played tons of what I wanted to hear. I wish I would have listened to his last 2 albums more prior to the show and possibly would have enjoyed it a bit more, but that being said it was an amazing show, intimate venue compared to the last 2x I saw him at summer fest in Milwaukee and at the Amalie arena with Snopp, MGK, and Two Chainz. This was by far the best of all 3 shows I have been too. Best 35 bucks I have spent on a concert in a long time. Made my wife come with me and she had fun too despite only knowing 2 songs. In the male dominated crowd it was fun to watch Lupe who is a master of his craft perform to his dedicated fans at a small venue. Bravo Lupe!

    High energy Lupe

by Mercedes287 on 11/18/17House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

I am most definitely biased, but I have never had the opportunity to see Lupe Fiasco in concert before. He did not disappoint. Super high energy, we got new songs and old songs, he cracked us up and hyped us up. I didn't think it was possible to be more of a fan of his, but I am after this concert! House of Blues was awesome too, very intimate feel.

Lupe Fiasco is a walking Legend

    by 215staylifted on 7/18/17Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Got there an hour after the doors opened, and still made my way up to the very front. His energy was relentless, which caused my arms to constantly swing in the air. His views and open mind are ones to live by.

The new venue Aura was beautiful and intimate. Lupe was in a class of his own with old and new releases, and interacted with the crowd a lot. All in all a fun night!

He played all of his big hit songs and a lot of his older stuff. He also does a great job interacting with the audience. He sounds just like he does on CD! Amazing.

    Big Disappointment

by Lena505 on 1/18/17Fillmore Auditorium (Denver) - Denver

I missed his last tour. Was seriously looking forward to the show only to sit through 2 mediocre openers, then listened to Mr. Fiasco rant. Then we were told to stand in silence while he has a "prayer circle" with some of his fans. I understand he had a negative experience and a bad day, but he let his personal life negatively impact his performance. I've always enjoyed his music. I believe he has a strong message and have often wanted to pick his brain. I look forward to future projects, and hope this was an isolated incident.
