Lupe Fiasco in Concert
Chicago-born, Grammy Award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco gained national attention with his 2006 album Food & Liquor, which helped cement a new wave of Chicago rappers in the national conversation. Revisit the album that put Lupe Fiasco on the map, and changed the course of Chicago hip-hop forever.
The independent rapper who parted ways with his former label, Atlantic Records, following the release of 2015's Tetsuo & Youth, is pegged as one of the most gifted lyricists and visionaries to grace the mic. Rising to fame in 2006 following the success of his debut album, Food & Liquor, Lupe has released six acclaimed studio albums; Drogas Light, released in 2017 on his own label, 1st & 15th. These albums have netted 3 platinum singles, 3 RIAA Gold Certifications, 12 Grammy nominations and one Grammy Award in 2008 for his infectious single, "Daydreamin," feat Jill Scott. With a trilogy of albums set for 2018 and beyond, Lupe is at his creative peak as an artist. Most recently, Drogas Wave released on September 21st, 2018 via 1st & 15th. His efforts to propagate conscious material helped solidify him as GQ's Man of the Year in 2006, and garnered recognition as a Henry Crown Fellow.
While musical genius and ingenuity are at the forefront of Lupe's achievements, the artist extends his innovation to projects that aim to foster creative discourse and opportunities in underprivileged and impoverished communities. As the co-founder and co-owner of community initiatives such as, We Are M.U.R.A.L, The Neighborhood Start-Up Fund, Society of Spoken Art, and Studio SV, Lupe Fiasco proves that he is more than just a mouthpiece for change, but a committed facilitator of intellectual community discourse and outreach.
Awesome show he knows how to work a crowd. Would def see him again
Great show in Boston! Lupe was awesome, he played the entire The Cool album.
Great show. Lupe showed a lot of love to up n coming Chicago rappers. Don't Ruin Us God Said
Great show really enjoyed the show everything was nice even the openers
Frustrated w sound team and not feeling the crowd.
Awesome show, didn’t disappoint. Hyped the crowd, a true display of Hip Hop!!!!
Lupe didn't show up.. if he did I was already gone. Mad that it was already past the 3 hr mark from when the door opened.
Lupe is legit my favorite rapper in the world... So when I got tickets to see him I was definitely excited, but when I actually went to see the show I was met with nothing but disappointment. I could have excused the 6 openers, (some of which were very much out of place), the blatant rudeness to staff and his fans, and his very odd song choices, if he had at the very least looked at the crowd and gave us a good show. I'm really sad we caught him on what seemed to be a horrible day for him and I still like Lupe a lot, but I wish I had never gone to this show. It feels like there are very few mainstream rappers I can look up to now, and I've been rocking with Lupe since kick push. I was honestly very hurt by how he acted, but I'll get over it. Never will see him again, but I'll get over it...
The concert was held on a Tuesday night which was slightly inconvenient. It also took the artist a lengthy amount of time to appear. The overall experience could have been better.
It was an amazing performance, my only complaint is that the show was too short, and should have gone on longer.
I have been a Luxor Fiasco fan for 15 plus years and what i got from his concert is this man is a beast and a Genius. Can’t wait till his next concert and I’m telling you if you want to see a true lyricist, artist at his purest and realest go see Lupe. You wont regret it
Performance is a sport and Lupe is an all star player. Lupe is amazing live and gets the crowd involved throughout. He plays all the classics and all his newer hits. What an amazing night full of fun and dope music
Man, Lupe is a legend. He's awesome. His pen and his mind are next level. Grateful to see him live.
Great performance! First time seeing him and I definitely would again
Show was fun. Got there early and waited 3 hours for lupe to come on stage. The other performances weren't that good but lupe was awesome.
Lupe fiasco hands down best show I have ever seen. He interacted with the crowd. The stage performance was great. And we even got to meet him and take a picture afterwards. My favorite artist became one of my fav people
I quite enjoyed Lupes performance! High energy and great songs. With all due respect to the headliners, I love to dance; dancing is why I go out for music. The songs performed by the headliners were more rap focused and lacked much of anything to dance to, leaving the crowd standing around just waiting for Lupe to start. The sound was poor as well. Not sure if it was the speakers or sound engineering, however Low’s mids and highs were all muddled together to the point I couldn’t hear what the headliners were saying.
This was an amazing show. Lupe is still one of the greatest lyricist and he performs really well live. The energy was great.
He plays all his hits and current music. He is on time and interacts with the crown. He also has alot of energy, which propagates into the room. Best concert ever.
Lupe is just a cool dude. His rapping skills are on point. I didn't realize he is so good at rapping. Lupe draws all types of fans. I've been to a million concerts. I've never seen such a mixed crowd.
