Lucky Daye on Tour
Off the heels of his hit album Candydrip, New Orleans singer/songwriter Lucky Daye is hitting the road across the United States for the 2022 Candydrip Tour. Daye's style blurs the lines between contemporary sub-genres within R&B with hints of soul and funk and influences from genre giants like Miss Lauryn Hill, Prince and Stevie Wonder. In 2019, Lucky Daye released his debut 13-track studio album titled Painted which garnered critical praise, leading to four Grammy nominations at the 63rd Grammy Awards including Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Album. As a result of the positive momentum, Lucky Daye opened for Khalid on his Free Spirit Tour in Australia and New Zealand. Daye is praised by concertgoers for his intimate stage presence, putting his heart and soul into live performances.
Lucky Daye in Concert
Born on September 25, 1985, David Debrandon Brown is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and you can feel the southern, soulful influence in his records. Despite navigatings a series of tumultuous events in his youth like being raised in a local cult that forbade conventional music and being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Daye re-established himself in Atlanta, Georgia where he now resides. His first peek into the spotlight came in 2005, when he competed in Season 4 of "American Idol". He received unanimous praise from the four judges and Randy Jackson called it the best performance he had heard "since we have been doing this for four seasons." Shortly after being eliminated from American Idol, Daye's career evolved into both a songwriter and supporting vocalist over the next 10 years. He received credits with hit artists like Ne-Yo, Boyz II Men, Trey Songz and Mary J. Blige. Daye's solo career blossomed in October 2018 when he signed to Keep Cool and RCA Records. Shortly thereafter, he released his first single, the Grammy-nominated "Roll Some Mo." That and "Real Games" were the leading singles on Painted (2020). He followed that up with the Grammy-nominated EP Two of a Kind (2021), which features an intro and six duets with the likes of Ari Lennox and Yebba. Candydrip released in March of 2022 and features guest appearances from Smino and Lil Durk.

I went in a little skeptical because most newer artists don’t care about performing, but Lucky Daye was phenomenal. He had amazing stage presence, the energy was through the roof, and the band was amazing. Personally all the songs sounded better live. If he goes on tour again I will be there. This was truly a great performance. Even his opening act Joyce Wrice who is a fairly new artist did a good job as well.
My first concert since the pandemic omg this dude sounds amazing such a great show I love when artists sound exactly or even better than their album !!!!!! I can’t wait until he comes back !
Great concert. Very talented young man. Can't wait for his next album.
This was An amazing concert. Me and my friends drove from Maryland straight after my class and drove right back for class in the morning! I loved every moment. I mark this as one of the best nights of my life🖤
Lucky Daye was amazing! Such a good performer. The sound system at The Foundry could have been better. At times it was hard to hear what he was saying through the mic but overall just a great show. He was interactive with the crowd and had such good stage presence
The Lucky Daye concert was a surreal experience, not only was he gracious during the meet and greet, but the concert itself was phenomenal!! The House of Blues staff customer service was great, they were so helpful and help aid in a wonderful concert experience.
Everything about this show was perfect. The live band was everything! Lucky sounds just as good -if not better-than the records and his energy is unmatched. I had the most fun at this concert than I have at any other concert I’ve been to. Looking forward to the next Lucky Daye show.
Performance was really good. The opening acts didn’t hit the stage until an hour and a half after doors opened, but it’s a small spot so it’s understandable. Daye’s performance was really good and he made sure to sing all the favorites.
He was sooo nice!!🥰 The performance was AMAZING I really would like to go see him uh gin🤔😊
He did all of his songs. I drove from Dallas to Houston to see his show and it was so worth it. I’ll definitely be going to more of his shows in the future. Fun times 😁
I’ve been a fan of Lucky Daye for a while now. Very sweet and humble guy! I got M&Gs and was front row! Lucky even held my hand a few times throughout the night — a moment that meant so much to me lol. I would pay money to see him over and over again. Energy on 100! 10/10 would recommend!
The show tonight at Union Stage was awesome!! Lucky sounded just like the album I love that!!! And yes, he is fine!
Lucky Daye was AMAZING!!! He was wonderful. He put his heart and soul in that concert. Can't wait until he returns. Can he come back like tonight???
Lucky sounded great live. His energy matched the room and his band killed! His opening acts (Ambre and Josh Dean) were perfect for the set. They too, rocked the crowd. I definitely wanted more!
