Lucky Daye on Tour

Off the heels of his hit album Candydrip, New Orleans singer/songwriter Lucky Daye is hitting the road across the United States for the 2022 Candydrip Tour. Daye's style blurs the lines between contemporary sub-genres within R&B with hints of soul and funk and influences from genre giants like Miss Lauryn Hill, Prince and Stevie Wonder. In 2019, Lucky Daye released his debut 13-track studio album titled Painted which garnered critical praise, leading to four Grammy nominations at the 63rd Grammy Awards including Best R&B Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best R&B Song and Best R&B Album. As a result of the positive momentum, Lucky Daye opened for Khalid on his Free Spirit Tour in Australia and New Zealand. Daye is praised by concertgoers for his intimate stage presence, putting his heart and soul into live performances.

Lucky Daye in Concert

Born on September 25, 1985, David Debrandon Brown is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana and you can feel the southern, soulful influence in his records. Despite navigatings a series of tumultuous events in his youth like being raised in a local cult that forbade conventional music and being displaced by Hurricane Katrina, Daye re-established himself in Atlanta, Georgia where he now resides. His first peek into the spotlight came in 2005, when he competed in Season 4 of "American Idol". He received unanimous praise from the four judges and Randy Jackson called it the best performance he had heard "since we have been doing this for four seasons." Shortly after being eliminated from American Idol, Daye's career evolved into both a songwriter and supporting vocalist over the next 10 years. He received credits with hit artists like Ne-Yo, Boyz II Men, Trey Songz and Mary J. Blige. Daye's solo career blossomed in October 2018 when he signed to Keep Cool and RCA Records. Shortly thereafter, he released his first single, the Grammy-nominated "Roll Some Mo." That and "Real Games" were the leading singles on Painted (2020). He followed that up with the Grammy-nominated EP Two of a Kind (2021), which features an intro and six duets with the likes of Ari Lennox and Yebba. Candydrip released in March of 2022 and features guest appearances from Smino and Lil Durk.

    The BEST

by AJ on 4/13/22House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Traveled from St Louis to see Lucky Daye and I can say it was worth every second. He’s absolutely amazing. There was no hassle with anything all the emails kept us updated since we were “meet and greet” so that was a plus. Can’t wait to seem him again!

    “Where are your antennas?” 😅

by Kati on 4/13/22House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

I had a phenomenal overall experience but the only downside is that, I think with intention, the Meet & Greet was rushed. There was no room to give real praise or say hi. I understand it but maybe I would’ve had My thoughts together had I anticipated 15 seconds of photos better 😅. HOB has always had a nice staff from the door, tickets and bar. They (Act & Staff) were quick to respond for medical needs in the crowd as well. Thanks for putting on an amazing show Lucky 🍀🧡

LEFT HIS HEART ON THE STAGE! AMAZING!

by Lex on 4/12/22Mercury Ballroom - Louisville

Lucky Daye is such an amazing performer and kept the audience in a trance. Even with fire alarms going off in the beginning, he didn’t let that ruin his vibe.

    by J. D. on 4/11/22Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

Lucky Daye is the absolute goat. The show was nothing less then amazing!! His energy is unmatched and overall he’s just such a great performer, and we had just seen him the day after he won his grammy, so the show was even more hype. If you haven’t seen this man live, you’re missing out!! I’ve been to many concerts in my life but this was one of the best ones. I had such an amazing time, especially seeing one of my favorite artist!! Joyce Wrice definitely showed out as well, it was just such a great experience.

    Fresh off a Grammy HIGH!

by Tiffany on 4/7/22Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

Lucky Daye gave all he had to his audience that night. He won his first Grammy the night before and I’m sure he partied it up afterwards but like a true professional, he was on time, humble and aimed to entertain! I recommend his show to everyone!

    GRAMMY AWARD WINNER Lucky Daye

by Ccmo on 4/7/22Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

This was the first show I’ve attended since the pandemic and it did not disappoint. The staff at Center Stage were very kind, which is interesting because I’ve been here before and they were not so kind then. Got in. Listened to that man put his heart out on stage and went home. 10/10.

    SO AMAZING

by Riri on 4/1/22House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

I love lucky so much, his stage presence was amazing and you can tell he likes what he's doing. His voice sounds just as it does in the studio and he is just so real. I wish he talked to the audience more other than "whats up dallasss" etc. AMazing either way.

    AMAZING

by AJ on 4/1/22House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

Best concert I’ve ever been to hands down!!! 1000 out of 10. The band was on fire!!! Vocals were incredible from start to finish. He was on stage for 90 minutes and sang almost 2 entire albums + some popular songs he’s featured on. Amazing performer with great energy. Not to mention very very handsome and he knows how to cater to his predominantly female audience. Sometimes you leave a concert feeling like you wish they would have done _____ or sang ____. This was not one of those concerts. I left feeling very fulfilled. Like thanksgiving dinner.
