LUCIUS IN CONCERT:

Girl group powerhouse Lucius put a fresh spin on Motown and soul music with their 2013 debut album Wildewoman, combining '60s influences with a modern indie pop sound. Whether Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe are lending their jaw-dropping vocals to "Don't Just Sit There" or swaying back and forth in their matching mod frocks and intricate updos, the fierce duo packs a serious punch. With pitch-perfect vocals and harmonies, Lucius deliver pure pop bliss both on their recordings and on stage. Back on tour the stylish and effervescent collective will treat fans to their retro pop confections as they share the bill with The Head and the Heart and Sara Bareilles among a string of headlining dates of their own.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig met in 2004 while studying at Boston's Berklee School of Music. After penning lyrics and performing together under the moniker Lucius for a number of years, they turned into a five-piece, collaborating under a "musical open door policy" according to Wolfe and honing their craft to perfection. The group’s smashing debut Wildewoman earned major praise from fans and critics alike with its well-blended harmonies and funky soul sound. Hot off the heels of tours with Wilco and City and Colour, Lucius are set for a number of shows alongside fierce female Sara Bareilles and folk outfit The Head and the Heart.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Lucius sounds fantastic live. Perfect pitch, excellent musicianship and great harmonies. It was 90 minutes of pure pop sweetness and energy."

"Lucius is one of the most amazing bands that I have seen live. The performance was great, the lights were great, and the songs were amazing. They are very lively and do interact with the crowd. Definitely worth way more than I paid for the tickets."

"Their performance was truly phenomenal and good for the soul!"

    ‘Second’ time seeing them

by Kelsey on 11/19/22Neptune Theatre - Seattle

They are the best, and the Neptune suits them. I hope they keep coming back there. I’ve been a fan for awhile and loved this album just as much as previous.

    Unbelievable experience

by Gus on 11/9/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

I have seen these two Ladies as back up vocals for Roger Waters and they were incredible, their voices together are magical! Their show was just as good on their own. Very few people can touch your emotions with their signing like Holly and Jess can.

    Lucius Delivers

by JAD on 11/8/22The Echo Lounge & Music Hall - Dallas

First time to The Echo. Easy, reasonable parking (what!! other venues take note) and entry into the concert was well-done and friendly - actually appeared happy to see the attendees. Venue is comfortable and intimate. Outside area and separate lounge area definite bonus. Interesting, quiet but nice songwriting and presentation by Shamir as the opening act. The crowd was ready for Lucius and was not disappointed. Great show and the venture into the floor crowd to deliver a song was a fantastic encore.

    Lucius is an awesome band

by Sally on 5/7/22Beacon Theatre - New York

The girls were great again! As a matter fact, even better than they were last time which I say every time because it’s the truth. I much prefer the softer songs. Their voices are so fabulous together I just want to hear them better. The only negative was the lights. They were intensely bright and shined into the audience and whenever they were on my way, I had to close my eyes so I wouldn’t get a migraine because they were that intense.

The show was fantastic, the fans could have been better

    by J. on 5/11/19Barrymore Theatre - Madison

For the amazing sound and show Lucius put on, it was surprising the audience was so lame. I realize maybe the artist wanted a ‘seated’ show, but it could have been made more clear that people didn’t literally need to stay seated. I feel like it was offensive to the artist. My friends and I were standing on the balcony and Lucius even gave us a special shout out, obviously appreciating our connection to their performance. Just some food for thought.

    Another Fantastic Show from Lucius

by BobLoblawsLawBlog on 9/17/18Moore Theatre - Seattle

My wife and I have seen Lucius a few times now, and this was easily one of the best shows. While past performances were fantastic, the acoustic set had a much more intimate feel while allowing more harmonizing with the entire band, and as usual the ladies put on an amazing show.

    Great energy and harmonies.

by Anonymous on 9/15/18Moore Theatre - Seattle

I'm a big Lucius fan and this was another great show in the books. As usual the quality of their musicianship and performance was fantastic. Even though this is their "acoustic" tour the sound was very robust. The lighting was more minimalist with a stronger focus on the stage. This felt like a more intimate setting where the audience watching instead of participated which really allowed the band to showcase their music. I took my mom and a couple friends who were all impressed by the show and were converts before the set was halfway through. Mom's first show: It exceeded my expectations. I didn't know their music and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. They harmonize beautifully and the energy in the crowd was really high. Their fans really new the music and loved them. I would definitely see them again!

I'm Gonna Miss the Small Venues

by XLTrojan on 3/27/18Carolina Theatre - Durham

Lucius is still great - pinpoint vocals, fantastic musicians and terrific songwriting - but gone are the days when you can see them in a small club. Oh, well, I saw them twice before they hit the big time, I will see them again in the future and buy their music of course. I really did not care for the lighting this show either, they were hard to see. The "one-mic" setup kept them from moving around, too. These are just small complaints, everyone should check them out, they are always worth seeing!

    AMAZING...SPEECHLESS!!

by angelic143 on 3/27/18Town Hall - New York

Wow...what a show!! I teared up, that's how amazing they were. They sounded fantastic, the song choices were on point, the band members nailed it, the audience was on fire and Jess & Holly were (as always) vocal beasts. I can't get enough of their music and wish I got to see them more than every couple of years.
