Lowcountry Jazz Festival Night 2 Review...........

by Skeet357 on 9/9/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

Outstanding, Awesome, Wonderful, Grand, & Just some of the Best Smooth Jazz Music around. All performers did an outstanding job. Standouts were Joey Summerville and Richard Eillot. Jazzy J did his usual Professional Job as our MC. Dr. Bell was always informative and Humble. He is such an inspiration to other helath care providers. I know the other nights, (1,3, & 4) were awesome too, I had friends who went to them and reported back how great they were. Saturday night (#3) seems to stand out as very entertaining. A Great Draw for Our Lowcountry Area. I am so proud to have play a small part in it. Matt Marshack, Joey Summerville, The Sax Pax, Richard Eillot - TAKE A BOW!!!!!!!!!

    Sound system

by Jazzman5872 on 9/9/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

The artist was absolutely good but was victim to bad sound system operators. The artist was very entertaining and talented. This issue was the sound system and the artist constantly telling the operators to turn on certain microphones. It was so distracting and Jonathan Butler just threw his hands up out of frustration. The artist played to the crowd in the dark as they were moving around the stage and audience with no spot light which was baffle. One artist (Euge Groove) got a spot light briefly but it was pretty bad and a huge liability if the artist were to injure themselves. I have been attending five straight years and this will be our groups last year. It seems like they are cutting corners and the price is steadily increasing. The popcorn station and vending was a attribute to the concert ..

    Best Jazz on the Beach

by Electrophysiology on 9/8/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

This is our 3rd time attending the festival. Each year it is never disappointing. Every year we take new friends this year was same. The amazing Pieces of Dream was my favorite alone with Elliot. Both are hard to beat. Albright was also the icing on the cake, he topped off the festival with his elevation to perfection. What do you say, I'll be back next year for another great Jazz Fest.

Every performer was Extraordinary!! True Talent!

by OneBeautifulSoul on 9/8/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

Jonathan Butler--Where have you been all of our lives? He is a perfectionist and the music he and his band reveals is like no other. YOU have to be present to see what I mean. He is from Africa and he sung a couple of songs in his native language. We didn't know what he was saying but the music was PHENOMENAL!! Marcus Anderson and his twin brother should collaborate in order to make a CD together. Marcus can play the saxophone with a true groove and his brother has a voice of an ANGEL! The horns topped it off. I do love the drums, they really put it down on Saturday! Euge Groove was a hit also banging saxophone with the led guitar and BASS guitarist was EXPLOSIVE! Jose Valentino Ruiz--I am SPEECHLESS!! This man is talented, he can play four different instruments and sing! His band and lead singer topped off the performance by taking us to Church and they did just that. I am glad that most of the band included God in there performances. Next year, I am going to invite others from out of town to check out this AWESOME festival! Keep up the good work and it's for a good cause as well. Thanks to Dr. Bell and the sponsors like MUSC gave a great tribute to his daughter who recently passed from cancer. WE LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF THIS EXPERIENCE!

    Awesome Event!

by musicdiva15 on 9/8/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

Although I have heard good things about the Lowcountry Jazz Festival I actually had the opportunity to see for myself. As a first-timer, I truly enjoyed the event and the comfortable venue. Our seats were in the Orchestra section and were excellent, however it appears that the vast majority of seats were good seats. I really enjoyed Pieces of A Dream, Gerald Albright, Euge Groove, BK Jackson and the special guest trumbone player. The performances that interacted and mingled with the crowd was really enaging and being able to get photos and autographs afterwards was excellent. I would encourage having some t-shirt or other sovenir sales as well as an "After Party". Overall it was an Awesome Event!

by Muz49 on 9/7/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

Once again the Lowcountry Jazz Festival did not disappoint. 5+ hours of great musical notes. Sax Pack was really entertaining, followed by a stand up performance by Michael Elliott. Never realized how many hits he had until we heard them performed. All in all a very entertaining evening. Looking forward to next year

    Right on Point

by ButlerG on 9/6/15North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

3 nights down and it has been amazing. Every performance to this point has met or exceeded expectations. Highlights: Marcus Miller, Sax Pack, Richard Elliot was off the chain, Euge Grove-a bad man, and Jonathan Butler was classic Jonathan Butler. Can't wait for tonight with Pieces Of A Dream and my man Gearld Albright. Well organized, good house band in lobby between stage acts, excellent cause. We love this weekend.

    Entire festival was outstanding

by chill046 on 9/28/14North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

This was my first time attending the festival and I was impressed. I will ne a regular for now until the foreseeable future. The only thing I would change is to make the show on the final day start earlier in the day. That way out of towners can get a good nights rest before leaving the next day. I also attended the cruise on Sunday, which was outstanding. However in the future I would make it clear where the boat will be located on the water front.

This was my first time attending the Low Country Jazz Festival (as well as the Low Country Jazz Festival with Alex Bugnon) and they both exceeded my expectations! I only attended the Sunday evening Jazz festival, but in the future I plan to attend all 4 days!! I also hope that they continue to do the Jazz Cruise!!
