Loved Avery Sunshine! I could have gone home after her performance.
I loved the fact that the artists had more playing time for us to really enjoy and interact with them!! I thought it couldn't get any better after David Sanborn and Dave Koz. Those guys will always be unforgettable! When Brian Culbertson came on stage,O-M-G, he blew us away. We loved all 3 nights but night one along with Nick Colionne and Peabo Bryson.... it was phenomenal! We've already started telling our friends and we're waiting on next year's lineup!
The people responsible for the Low Country Jazz Festival do a wonderful job. The venue, performers, and overall purpose for the event are outstanding. I always make this a annual event. First Class!
The Low Country Jazz Festival with Avery Sunshine, Will Downing and Nick Colionne was incredible. The venue is amazing - not a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are incredible and the performers were top-notch. Will Downing got top billing but for me and my husband, Avery Sunshine was the headliner. She really puts on a great show - a true entertainer. I had never heard of Nick Colionne and we are jazz fans. I wasn't expecting much with him but he blew me away. He and his band are awesome. Will Downing, what can you say - he is always great! A wonderful night all around.
Awesome, I can't wait till 2017's event. Please bring back Avery Sunshine. Her performance gave me life!
Nice shows, great venue, nice crowd and wonderful artists. Jazzing with a purpose makes it even more special. This is our second year and we will be back!!
This was our first visit to the Low Country Jazz Festival And it was worth the drive down from NC it took us about four and half hours to get here. We arrived at the coliseum and there was not really a wait at all, which we thought was great. Then concert was awesome we truly enjoyed ourselves, Dave Koz and David Sanborn started out the concert. The two of them together on the same stage was well worth it. There were a couple of technical difficulties during the show, but it was resolved in a timely manner. But Brian Culbertson came out afterwards and stole the show, just know that he "Shut It Down"!
Due to having to travel through Hermine's to get there, I only got to see Brian Culbertson, but he was worth it! Great Show! May the "Funk" be with You! I would have loved to have seen Dave Koz and David Sanborn, who was my introduction into a love of jazz, but you can't beat mother nature... I have never either them, but I will keep trying in the future...
This is the 2nd year I have attended this event. Both have been exceptional...great venue and great artists.
This was my first time attending the Low Country Jazz Festival. It was excellent! The venue is very nice. The music acts were great. Charleston and the Low Country Jazz festival will be an annual trip for now on....
We have gone every year for the past 5 yrs. we usually go for the whole package. This year we did Friday nite only. It was by far the best single experience in the past years. Loaded with talent! After Dave Koz & David Sanborn performed, we thought "how do you top this?" Well they did with Brian Culbertson. First time encounter with his live performance. WOW!! He actually makes love to those keyboards. What a moving moment. I can't wait til next year it's always a thrill. We make a weekend out of it and are never disappointed.
Artist line-up was great! I missed first night because of hurricane threat and travel advisory. I'm a regular at the Jazz Festivals. Opening acts were too long.
The 2015 version of this festival was a GREAT, 3 day, high energy smooth jazz event and that is what motivated us to return in 2016. This year there were some great jazz performances (Brian Culbertson, Dave Koz, David Sanborn, and Jazz Funk Soul) but there were a number of R&B artist that didn't fit the "jazz festival" model. The festival is for a worthy cause but 2017 attendance will depend on the artist performing.
Dave Koz & David Sanborn were AWESOME & FANTASTIC!!! BUT... Brian Culbertson was OUTSTANDING!!! His Performance was SPECTACULAR - I was TOTALLY surprised to see & hear him play the TROMBONE!! He then "raised HIS SHOW to another level - when he played the piano BACKWARDS!! [i.e. he was playing with his back- facing US] !!
The first night of the 8th Lowcountry Jazz Fest was awesome!! The two Davids (Sanborn and Koz) did an excellent job with their combination show but for me Brian Culbertson made my night! His performance was so good I plan on going to see him on his Funk tour!! Overall I was very impressed with each of their performances. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!
I love Jazz and having recently moved to the area I was thrilled to read about this Festival. I was so excited to go and it did not let me down. The venue is good, I don't think there is not a bad seat in the house and the music was great. I had seen most of the artists before and the venue gave them room to shine. I will be attending every Low Country Jazz Festival from now on. Concert was well put together, the crowd was great, and music for a cause cannot be beat. Thank you for putting this on, and bringing us all together for a fabulous night/week-end.
Really enjoyed the David Sanborn and Dave Coz show. But man, mr. Culbertson took the music and turned into an awesome avenue jazz music. My wife and I enjoyed and will be ready for next year LowCountry Jazz.
I attended the Saturday show, all the Artists were great. Marcus Anderson, Stole the show.!
The entire lineup was HOT...the Sax Pack was very good, but Richard Elliot showed why he was the headliner. Simply put, Richard "funked things up"...I've seen him several time before, but he brought the house down.
I think this is our fifth yr attending the event. We also go to the Earl Klugh @ Kiawai in Nov. I didn't think this yr was as good and noticed the attendance wasn't as good.
