  • The only show I ever left early

by Geo on 3/22/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 2 out of 5

I’ve been listening to & enjoying Louden’s quirky songs for decades. I’d been looking forward to seeing him for months, since I bought tickets. The show started off great. Then somewhere in the middle, he got political, slamming the Florida governor & his policies. That completely turned my opinion of him from enjoyment to disgust. Some long rambling narrative & the few more songs I stayed for were no longer enjoyable. He made more politically based comments & we left. It’s the only concert I ever walked out of early. He should know his audience & not bring politics into the show, especially when they run contrary to the area where he’s playing. He’s an entertainer. That’s all. Nobody cares what he thinks of anything political. His place on the stage does not give him the platform or the right to voice his political opinion. I’ll never see him again.

  • There's No Way He's 75

by John on 3/21/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

Listened to him for years but had never seen him live until last Friday. While he did forget a chord or two (then quickly recovered), vocally he never missed a note. He sounded fantastic! Even the songs he played that I wasn't familiar with were entertaining. At one point he asked for a request, I shouted "New Paint" and he played it! Perfect evening, great sound, lovely show.

  • Loudon Wainwright III In Concert

by The Silver Fox on 3/21/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

FRIDAY, MARCH 18, 2022 @ PONTE VEDRA CONCERT HALL, NORTH FLORIDA. Tonight I crossed something else off my Bucket List, as I finally got to see Loudon Wainwright III live in concert. I was introduced to his music 45 years ago when I was in college in England, back in the late 1970s and I've loved the eclectic, comedic and irrepressible troubadour ever since. It was such a thrill to introduce my wife Rebecca to this inimitable folk singer, who puts a smile and a tongue wagging on every song he plays. What a great night! Thank you Loudon.

  • Loudon is always awesome!

by Steven B on 3/21/22Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra BeachRating: 5 out of 5

A true performer. amazing show. Liberal had to take cheap shot at our awesome Governor! Sorry Loudon but we love our Governor and don't care what out of state, uninformed entertainers feel.

  • Old pro delivers

by Bigfish on 3/5/19Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - CincinnatiRating: 5 out of 5

I first became aware of Loudan when I checked the credits of Boardwalk Empire to see who delivered the brillant rendition of Cerrickfergus during one episode. I had no idea he had written Daughter (in the water) till I checked him out on Spotify. Then when actually seeing him, I discovered a live entertainer who truely fills the hall with his guitar, finely crafted lyrics, quick wit and able voice.

  • Meaningful Performance

by Boiler KK on 3/5/19Ludlow Garage Cincinnati - CincinnatiRating: 4 out of 5

Second time to experience Loudon in concert. As good and as entertaining as 10 years earlier. His wit and songwriting are top-notch and the musicianship, well, still as strong as ever. Even, for those of you out there who aren't familiar with Loudon's work, you will enjoy his shows ... guaranteed. He is very unique, funny, and poignant in a way that will make the political correct crowd blush.

  • Great Evening

    by Andye50 on 11/12/12Carolina Theatre - DurhamRating: 4 out of 5

I have been a Wainwright fan since 1978, yet had never seen him live until Saturday night. Was not disappointed. Plus now I'm a big Dar Williams fan, too. Great show. Great venue. A great way for my wife and I to celebrate our 23rd anniversary.

  • Loudon Wainwright Delivers.

by GuitarPlyr on 8/27/12Variety Playhouse - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Loudon Wainwright at the intimate and acoustically superior Variety Playhouse delivered a superb evening of entertainment. No formal introduction for Loudon, he simply slipped out from behind the curtain waved and grinned at everyone and stepped up to the mike and said hello. Tuning his acoustic guitar and conversing with the audience as if we were all in his living room. Doing tunes that range from melancholy to down right hilarious all with perfect timing, melody and vocal pitch. Older than My Old Man, High Wide and Handsome and Daughter to name a few. Oh yea, Dead Skunk, dedicated to one of the audience members late father was just one of many highlights. In a nutshell, if Loudon comes your way, don't miss him. Oh yes Heather Luttrell was a very good opening act, superb vocalist.
